What is Synergy Relations LLC?
Synergy Relations LLC is a small Seattle company that sits above several brands. Its own summary is "practical technology and trusted professional services, built to help people and businesses move forward." In practice it does two different kinds of work.
First, it operates two professional service businesses. Compass Mediation Group offers mediation for divorce, family, business and estate disputes. Compass Tax Center offers tax preparation, review, resolution and planning. The corporate site calls both "an established professional service business of Synergy Relations LLC."
Second, it builds and runs subscription software for professionals. The company's Terms of Service list four "Platforms": SynergyMP, SynergyTP, Social Butterfly and Abbicus.ai. Two more products, myESDjobs and LuceMia, are shown on the corporate site as "in development" and "not yet available for public use."
The company says its software was built inside its own practices: SynergyMP inside Compass Mediation Group and SynergyTP inside Compass Tax Center.
The software is a tool, not a professional service. The Terms of Service say the Platforms "do not provide mediation, tax, legal, financial or other professional services." This guide is not legal, tax or financial advice; for your own situation, talk to a licensed professional.
Who owns and runs Synergy Relations?
The corporate site says Synergy Relations "is founded and led by Alisa Kharis." Its structured data also lists her as founder. According to the About page, her background combines "law, mediation, taxation, entrepreneurship, business development, and technology product design." The page lists:
- A Juris Doctorate from Seattle University School of Law
- A B.A. in Political Science, cum laude, from Washington State University
- Certification as a Master Mediator by the International Mediation Association
- Status as a federally licensed IRS Enrolled Agent
- 16 years as a practicing attorney and more than 25 years of mediation experience and education
- "Hands-on ownership and operation of multiple businesses"
These are the company's own statements. We did not check them in a public registry for this guide.
Compass Mediation Group's site adds an important clarification: "Alisa Kharis is a mediator, not a practicing attorney. Her legal background informs and enriches the mediation process, but she does not act as an attorney for any party." It encourages both parties to consult independent attorneys.
Both product sites are signed by the founder and promise "a direct line to the founder" during onboarding. The site does not name other staff.
Is Synergy Relations LLC legit? What you can check
Here is what is published and what you can check yourself.
- A named company and address. Every page footer and every policy names Synergy Relations LLC at 300 Lenora Street, Ste. 391, Seattle, WA 98121.
- A stated legal form. The Terms of Service describe it as "a limited liability company organized in Washington." You can look up Washington LLCs in the Washington Secretary of State's business search.
- A named founder with published credentials. The IRS keeps a public directory of tax preparers with credentials where you can check Enrolled Agent status.
- Full written policies. The software has a Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, AI Disclosure and Data Deletion Instructions, each with an effective date of 1 September 2026, plus a Cookie Notice last updated 18 August 2026. The corporate website has its own Website Terms and Website Privacy Policy, effective 18 August 2026.
- Honest status labels. The sites say plainly which products are in beta, in pilot, in testing or in development. Social Butterfly says live social publishing "will be enabled as provider connections complete review."
What is not published: a phone number on the corporate site itself, office hours for the parent company, or customer counts for the software.

SynergyMP: software for mediators
SynergyMP (the Synergy Mediation Platform) is case-management software for mediators and mediation practices. Its tagline is "Mediation. Simplified." The pitch is that most mediation software is either legal software "overloaded with features built for law firms" or a generic dashboard, and that SynergyMP is "built from the ground up by a working mediator."
How a matter moves through it
The site describes seven stages, from first contact to signed agreement:
- Intake: automated questionnaires for both parties.
- Scheduling: sessions both sides can agree on.
- Communication: every message logged to the matter.
- Sessions: one-click video with per-matter passcodes.
- Documents: organized by matter and shared with control.
- Agreements: drafted, reviewed and signed in the platform.
- Follow-up: payments, signatures and loose ends closed.
Features the site highlights
- Two parties per matter. Party A and Party B are separate contacts with separate onboarding inside one matter.
- Ten tabs on the mediator's side: dashboard, tasks, documents, messages, payments, signatures, notes, Sam, activity and workflow.
- Three tabs on the client's side: home, messages and documents. Clients join a session, upload a document or ask a question from the same place.
- One-click SMS, email and phone from a party's card, logged to the matter. The site names VoIP options such as Google Voice, Zoom Phone and Quo.
- White-labeling (your logo and colors), which the site says is available on every plan, with a one-time setup fee for the white-label client portal.
- Sam by Synergy, an optional AI assistant (see the AI section below).
It connects to tools you already pay for
SynergyMP does not build its own video, phone, storage, e-signature or payments. "You bring the providers you already use and pay for, and SynergyMP orchestrates them." Those subscriptions stay in your name and are billed by the providers. The Privacy Policy names examples such as Google or Microsoft 365, Zoom or Microsoft Teams, Square, Stripe or PayPal, DocuSeal and Quo, and says client payments "go directly to your account."
How much does SynergyMP cost?
SynergyMP publishes three monthly plans. The site says "No per-module upsells. No surprise fees."
| Plan | Price | Who it's for | What's included (as published) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo | $99/month | Independent mediators | Unlimited matters; two-party intake and scheduling; SMS, email and phone from the matter; video sessions with passcodes; documents, payments and e-sign; revenue tracking by client; white-label client portal (one-time setup fee) |
| Practice | $249/month | Practices with more than one mediator | Everything in Solo; up to 5 mediator seats, then $99 per seat; Sam by Synergy; workflow automation and reminders; white-label portal (one-time setup fee); practice-level reporting |
| Program | $449/month | Community mediation organizations and court-connected programs | Everything in Practice; up to 15 mediators, then $249 per 5 more; organization-level admin console; your own isolated environment; white-label across the program; hands-on onboarding; priority support |
- "Founding mediators lock in beta pricing," for the life of the subscription.
- All plans include onboarding support.
- Connected providers (video, phone, storage, e-sign, payments) are billed separately by those providers.
- The white-label setup fee amount is not published. Ask for it.
SynergyMP is in beta. To join, you request an invitation through a short form ("Two minutes. No payment."). The site says the company will "follow up personally within two business days," then onboard you with the founder and help bring your existing matters over.
SynergyTP: software for tax practices
SynergyTP (the Synergy Tax Platform) is practice-management software for tax professionals and firms. Its tagline is "Tax Practice. Simplified." The site says it was "built from the ground up by a working Enrolled Agent" inside Compass Tax Center.
It is a practice tool built around the work surrounding the return: clients, documents, signatures, payments and deadlines.
How a return moves through it
- Intake: the client card opens, organizers and documents are requested, app setup is sent with one click, and the tax year is assigned.
- Prepare: documents are reviewed and the return is drafted for the practitioner's review.
- Sign, file and pay: the practitioner approves, forms auto-fill, the client signs and pays, and the return is filed.
- Follow up: deadlines, resolution matters and next season's intake are tracked, plus a review request after service.
Features the site lists
- Client portal with five tabs (dashboard, messages, action items, organizers, documents) under your firm's name, installable on a phone without an app store.
- E-signature for engagement letters, tax returns, Form 2848 and Form 8821, sent pre-filled.
- Tax resolution tracking from first notice to final outcome, plus deadlines and IRS response dates.
- Access IRS: one click from the client file to request transcripts.
- Library of templates and official IRS forms, instructions and publications.
- Financial dashboard for revenue, balances, payment plans and commissions.
- CE and license tracking, federal and state, for every tax pro.
- Office roles, including a Client Services Coordinator who can help callers "without seeing private client files."
On storage, the site says client files "live in your own SharePoint, not a third-party vault," and that every firm gets its own separate platform and database.
On security certification, the site is direct: "SOC 2 certification for SynergyTP itself is on our roadmap," and the company is "in the process of engaging the right auditors." It says the infrastructure and integration partners it builds on carry their own SOC 2 certifications.
How much does SynergyTP cost?
SynergyTP charges per tax pro (per seat), per month. The base plan includes tax prep and tax resolution features, unlimited clients, documents, payments and e-sign, CE and license tracking, the library, and a white-labeled client portal and phone app.
| Plan | Tax pros | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Practice | 1 to 4 seats | $69/month per seat |
| Team | 5 to 10 seats | $67/month per seat |
| Growth | 11 to 25 seats | $65/month per seat |
| Enterprise | 26 and up | First 25 at $65/month, each added seat at a flat $50/month |
AI Colleagues add-on. The research assistant (Verity) and daily briefing assistant (Iris) are optional and priced per AI Colleague, per firm, per month. The site says this rate "isn't discounted on annual plans."
| Tax pros in the firm | Price per AI Colleague |
|---|---|
| 1 to 4 | $10/month |
| 5 to 10 | $25/month |
| 11 to 25 | $40/month |
| 26 to 50 | $75/month |
| 51 and up | $1.50/month per tax pro |
Other pricing points the site makes:
- Pilot testers get full access free for 60 days. The site calls this "a separate, limited-time offer."
- Early-customer price lock. Regular customers who sign up early keep their per-seat price "for as long as you stay with us," even if prices rise. Add-ons bought after sign-up are priced at the rate in effect when you add them. The site describes the sign-up window in more than one way, so ask the company to confirm the exact deadline in writing.
- Custom work. The company also takes on custom workflows, integrations and one-off builds "on a project rate." That rate is not published.
Social Butterfly: social media planning, and its prices
Social Butterfly is a social media workspace for business owners, content creators and agencies. Its site describes it as "a calm, beautiful social workspace for every brand you manage." The founder's note says she wanted "a clean product that could manage content across multiple businesses" and could not find one.
It lets you draft posts with Butterfly AI, preview how a post will look on each chosen network, queue reusable Evergreen posts by category, keep a separate workspace for each business, brand, client or location, and approve content before anything publishes.
Published plans
Every plan includes a 3-day free trial with every feature, and annual billing "saves two months." Reviewers (people who view, comment and approve) are always free.
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly | Includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo Butterfly | $24 | $240 | 1 workspace, 5 connected profiles, 1 creator, Evergreen library, Butterfly AI |
| Business Butterfly | $49 | $490 | 3 workspaces, 15 connected profiles, 3 creators, approval workflows, expanded Butterfly AI |
| Agency Butterfly | $99 | $990 | 10 workspaces, 50 connected profiles, 10 creators, client approvals, priority support |
Add-ons chosen at checkout:
- Butterfly Pilot (automated posting): $50/month, or pay as you go at $3 for each day it posts for you, never more than $50 a month. It creates and publishes posts around your own events, with AI-made pictures. You can approve first or let pre-approved posts run. Monthly only.
- Butterfly Blog Builder: Solo $5/month or $50/year; Business $10/month or $100/year; Agency $50/month or $500/year. AI helps draft and you sign off before anything publishes.
Butterfly AI includes a monthly allowance; the site says additional usage "will be available when needed" but does not publish its price.
The beta
Social Butterfly is inviting a small group of testers. The site lists 7 days of invited beta access, a voice in product development, and a $19/month founding price for the first year after launch. It also says beta access is for testing and that live social publishing "will be enabled as provider connections complete review."
Abbicus.ai, myESDjobs and LuceMia
Three products are announced but not yet generally available:
- Abbicus.ai is described as "purpose-built technology that helps tax professionals make preparation work clearer, faster, and more manageable." The corporate site says it "is under active development." SynergyTP's site says Abbicus and another assistant, Ezra, are "coming in 2027."
- myESDjobs is planned as "a clear, secure place to organize job-search activity and keep important employment records together." It "is under development and is not yet available for public use."
- LuceMia is planned as a planning workspace "for honeymoons, romantic getaways, and other meaningful trips." It is also "not yet available for public use."
The Website Terms add a fair warning: "Some products described here are still in development and may change or may never be released."
Compass Mediation Group and Compass Tax Center
If you came here looking for a mediator or a tax preparer, these are the two Synergy service businesses. Each has its own website, terms and privacy policy. In brief, from their home pages:
Compass Mediation Group
- Mediation for divorce, family, relationship, business and estate matters.
- Sessions are offered online; the site says "Locations & Virtual Nationwide."
- A six-step process starting with a free initial consultation by phone or video, then information gathering, a joint session, negotiation, agreement drafting and finalization.
- It does not provide legal advice or legal representation, and encourages each party to consult an independent attorney.
- Phone numbers listed: 888 851-8856 and 206 800-8825.
Compass Tax Center
- Tax preparation, review, resolution and planning for individuals and businesses, including federal and state individual, trust, estate, gift and business returns.
- Fully virtual service; the site says it serves clients in all 50 states.
- A five-step process: start online or book a free consultation, complete the tax organizer and upload documents, return preparation, a review call with signing and payment, then e-filing.
- Hours listed: Monday to Friday 9am to 7pm, Saturday 10am to 4pm, Sunday closed.
- Contact listed: (888) 301-8311, (206) 738-7800, info@compasstaxcenter.com.
Prices for mediation and tax services are on those businesses' own pricing pages, which this guide did not cover. Check them directly.
How the AI assistants work
Several Synergy products include optional AI assistants. The company's AI Disclosure and product pages set out how they work. In short, each assistant drafts and researches for the professional and never talks to that professional's clients.
| Assistant | Product | What it does (as described) | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sam by Synergy | SynergyMP | Pre-mediation summaries, first drafts of settlement summaries, suggestions to keep parties on task; talks only to the assigned mediator | Included in Practice and Program plans; optional |
| Verity | SynergyTP | Tax research with citations, IRS guidance and precedent, plus client-letter drafts | In testing |
| Iris | SynergyTP | Daily briefings and deadline reminders | In testing |
| Butterfly AI | Social Butterfly | Drafts captions, hooks and ideas; adapts posts across platforms | Included, with a monthly allowance |
Key points from the AI Disclosure and Privacy Policy:
- The assistants are built on large language models provided through OpenAI by way of Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service.
- The company says your prompts and outputs "are not used to train OpenAI's models, and are not used to train any model on our platform."
- Output "is never legal, tax, mediation or other professional advice." You must review and verify it before relying on it.
- SynergyTP adds that "every return is reviewed and approved by a human practitioner" and that sensitive client data "is withheld from AI tools by design."
Data, security and privacy
Because SynergyMP and SynergyTP hold mediation files and taxpayer records, the privacy terms matter. The main points, from the Privacy Policy:
- Who controls client data. For a professional's clients, Synergy "act[s] as a service provider" and processes their information only to run the Platform as the professional instructs. A client with a question should contact their mediator or tax professional first.
- Professional duties stay with the professional, including tax preparers' duties under Internal Revenue Code section 7216.
- Separate sites. "Each customer gets its own separate site, with its own database, file storage and key vault." Data is stored in the United States.
- Protections listed: encryption in transit and at rest, keys kept in encrypted vaults, role-based access, security logging, limited staff access, and security testing "including fuzz testing and penetration testing, before each rollout and every quarter."
- No advertising use. The company says it does not sell personal information, does not use advertising cookies, and uses only cookies needed for sign-in, security and settings.
Retention, as published: connected-account tokens are deleted right away on disconnect; customer site content stays read-only for 30 days after cancellation, then is deleted; backups roll off within 35 days; billing records are kept 7 years, support tickets 3 years and security logs 12 months.
To delete your data, the Data Deletion Instructions say you can do it yourself in Settings, or email info@synergyrelationsllc.com with the subject "Delete My Data" from your account email. The company says it will confirm within 10 business days and complete deletion within 30 days. Tax preparers and mediators are reminded to export records they must keep before deleting anything.
Billing, cancellation and refunds
The Terms of Service (effective 1 September 2026) cover all four software platforms. The points most people ask about:
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current rate until you cancel. Prices are in U.S. dollars and exclude taxes.
- Cancel any time in billing settings or by email. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
- Refunds. "Except where the law requires otherwise, fees are non-refundable," with no refunds for partial periods, unused features or downgrades. The company "may make exceptions at our discretion." If it ends your account for a reason other than your breach, or drops a material paid feature and you cancel as a result, it says it will refund the unused prepaid portion.
- Price changes come with at least 30 days' notice by email and apply at your next renewal.
- Failed payments. If a balance stays unpaid for 30 days, the account may be terminated and its data deleted.
- Disputes. The terms include binding individual arbitration through the American Arbitration Association, seated in Seattle, and a class action waiver. You can opt out by emailing within 30 days of first accepting the terms with the subject "Arbitration Opt-Out." Washington law governs.
- Liability cap. Total liability is limited to the greater of what you paid in the prior 12 months or $100.
- No uptime commitment without a separate written service level agreement.
Read the full terms before you subscribe. This summary is not legal advice.
Where is Synergy Relations, and how do you reach it?
The company's mailing address is 300 Lenora Street, Ste. 391, Seattle, WA 98121. The products are online software, and the two Compass businesses serve clients virtually, so you do not need to visit an office.
- Email: info@synergyrelationsllc.com (used for general, privacy, support and deletion requests).
- Contact form: on the corporate Contact page. You choose which company or product your message is about (SynergyMP, Social Butterfly, Compass Mediation Group, Compass Tax Center, Abbicus.ai, myESDjobs, LuceMia, or a general inquiry) and the message "will be directed to the right Synergy company." The form uses a "not a robot" check.
- Phone: the corporate site does not list one. The SynergyMP site footer lists (360) 334-3384.
- Hours: not published for the parent company.
How it compares with other options
This table compares Synergy's software approach with general categories of alternatives, using the trade-offs the company itself describes plus plain differences. It is not a ranking.
| Option | Typical strengths | Typical trade-offs | Where Synergy's products differ (as described) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Legal case-management software built for law firms | Mature, wide feature sets, trust accounting | Built around a client and opposing counsel, not two parties in one matter | SynergyMP treats both parties as equal contacts in one matter |
| A stack of separate apps (calendar, email, video, e-sign, storage) | Cheap to start, familiar tools | Records scattered across accounts; clients juggle several logins | Synergy products connect those same providers into one interface |
| Legacy desktop tax software | Built to produce and file returns | Little client communication or practice management around the return | SynergyTP focuses on the practice around the return; it does not replace form preparation today |
| Hiring a professional directly (mediator, tax preparer) | Someone else does the work | Not a software decision | That is what Compass Mediation Group and Compass Tax Center offer, separately from the software |
Software in beta or pilot is newer and less proven than long-established products; the trade-off the company offers early users is founder access and locked-in pricing.
Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere
A good fit if you…
- Are a solo mediator, a mediation practice, or a community or court-connected mediation program looking for software built around two-party matters
- Run a small or mid-sized tax practice and want client portal, e-sign, payments, deadlines and resolution tracking in one place
- Already pay for tools like Zoom, Microsoft 365, Square or Stripe and want them working together
- Manage social media for several brands or locations and want a simple, lower-cost workspace
- Are comfortable being an early user of beta or pilot software
Look elsewhere if you…
- Need software with a long track record or a completed SOC 2 report today
- Need a contractual uptime guarantee and don't plan to sign a separate service level agreement
- Want tax software that prepares and files returns end to end right now (the tax-prep input tools are listed for 2027)
- Want an all-in-one price that includes video, phone and e-sign providers (those are billed separately)
- Need refunds for partial periods (fees are generally non-refundable)
Questions to ask before you sign up
- Is the product I want open to regular customers now, or only through the beta or pilot?
- What is the one-time white-label setup fee for SynergyMP?
- For SynergyTP, what is the exact deadline for the early-customer price lock, and can I get it in writing?
- How will you move my existing matters or client files over, and how long does onboarding take?
- Can I export all of my records in a usable format if I leave?
- For Social Butterfly, which social networks have live publishing enabled right now?
- Where is the SOC 2 process for SynergyTP, and what security documentation can you share now?
How to get started
- Decide what you need: software (SynergyMP, SynergyTP, Social Butterfly) or a professional service (Compass Mediation Group, Compass Tax Center).
- For SynergyMP or SynergyTP, submit the short invitation form. The company says it will follow up personally within two business days.
- For Social Butterfly, request beta access or start a plan's 3-day free trial.
- For anything else, use the corporate Contact page or email info@synergyrelationsllc.com.
- Before paying, read the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and AI Disclosure.
Terms you'll see on the sites
- White-label: the client portal shows your firm's logo and colors instead of Synergy's.
- Enrolled Agent (EA): a tax professional authorized by the IRS to represent taxpayers before the IRS.
- Form 2848 / Form 8821: IRS forms for power of attorney and for authorizing someone to receive your tax information.
