Overview
A contracting officer checks your website before they call. So does every prime you want to team with

Government buyers rarely find a contractor through a homepage. They find you in SAM.gov, an SBA search, an agency vendor list, a past award or a referral from a prime, and then they open your website to check you are real and relevant. In those few minutes they look for the same things: what you actually do, under which NAICS codes, with which certifications and set-aside status, where you have done it before, and who to call. A website that answers with "innovative solutions" and a stock photo of a handshake does not survive that check.
Your site also has a second, larger audience: prime contractors. Many small firms win most of their government work as subcontractors, and a prime looking for a teaming partner searches in narrow, literal terms, such as an SDVOSB that does HVAC commissioning in a particular region or a cleared team for a specific kind of software work. Pages built around those capabilities, places and credentials are what bring that call in.
This page is for companies that sell to government. If you are an agency buying a website, our pages on government web design and the nonprofit and public sector cover that side.

What makes marketing to government different
Government buying is written down, checked and slow. The site has to hold up to people who verify every claim, and to buying cycles measured in quarters, not days.
Your registrations are checked against your site
Offerors generally have to be registered in SAM.gov when they submit an offer (FAR 4.1102). Buyers compare what you claim on your site with that record, so your legal name, UEI, CAGE code and NAICS codes should match it exactly.
Set-aside status must be real
8(a), HUBZone, women-owned and veteran-owned set-asides depend on certification through SBA's contracting programs. Only claim a status you currently hold, and show it the way the certification names it.
Past performance is the proof
Buyers want contract work they can recognize: agency, scope, size and period. Much of it can't be named, so the site needs a way to describe work honestly without breaking a contract's publicity terms.
Primes buy differently from agencies
A prime wants to know quickly whether you fill a gap in its bid: your capability, location, socioeconomic status, clearances and capacity. A teaming page answers that better than a generic contact form.
Cycles are long and public
Forecasts, sources-sought notices and recompetes give you months of warning. Content planned around the agencies and contract types you pursue keeps you visible when the buyer starts market research.
Accessibility is a buying criterion
Agencies buying information and communication technology must make it accessible to employees and the public with disabilities (FAR subpart 39.2). If you sell software, websites or digital content, your own site is your first evidence.
How we work
How we build a contractor site that holds up to a contracting officer

We start with the facts a buyer verifies. A capability statement page and a downloadable PDF that match each other, with core competencies, differentiators, NAICS and PSC codes, UEI and CAGE, certifications, contract vehicles you actually hold and a named point of contact. Then one page per real capability, written in the words that appear in solicitations and statements of work, not marketing language.
Search work follows how government buyers and primes search: by capability, by agency or customer type, by place of performance and by socioeconomic status. We build B2B SEO around those terms, add structured data for your organization and locations, and make the site easy for AI assistants to read and cite through answer engine optimization, because more market research now starts with a question typed into one of them.
We also make the site meet the standard you sell to. If your proposals promise Section 508 conformance, your own site should pass the same checks, and a buyer may well look.

The process
How the work runs
Four stages, so your registrations, capabilities and target buyers are agreed before anyone designs a page.
Records and market review
We check your site against your SAM.gov record and certifications, and list the agencies, primes and contract types you pursue.
Capability map
We map pages to capabilities, customers and places, and agree which past performance can be described and how.
Design and build
We design and build the site, capability statement and teaming forms, then test accessibility, speed and tracking before launch.
Grow and report
Each month we work on search, content and AI visibility, and report on teaming requests, RFQs and calls, not just traffic.

FAQ
Questions government contractors ask us
How does SEO help a government contractor?
Most buyers and primes find you somewhere else first, then check your site. SEO makes sure that when they search your company name, a capability or a place of performance, they land on a page that answers their questions. It also brings in teaming partners who search by capability and status.
What should a government contractor website include?
At minimum: a capability statement, your NAICS codes, UEI and CAGE code, current certifications and set-aside status, contract vehicles you hold, past performance you can describe, a teaming page and a named point of contact. Everything should match your SAM.gov record.
Can we list agencies we have worked for?
Check each contract first. Some contracts limit publicity, and agencies generally don't want their names or logos used in a way that suggests endorsement. Where you can't name the customer, describe the work, scope and size plainly instead.
Does our website need to meet Section 508?
Section 508 applies to the technology agencies buy, so it matters most if you sell software, websites or digital content. Even when it doesn't apply directly, an accessible site supports what you say in your proposals. We test against WCAG and Section 508 before launch.
Do you also build websites for government agencies?
Yes. That work is covered on our government web design page.
What does it cost?
Our pricing page lists our monthly SEO plans and lets you estimate a custom website. Request a proposal above for a quote based on your capabilities and goals.
