Most Wix Sites Are Underbuilt, Not Under-Platformed
There is a lot of noise online about Wix being bad for SEO. It is mostly out of date. Wix exposes editable URL slugs, per-page titles and descriptions, canonical tags, a robots.txt editor, 301 redirects, custom structured data and an SEO setup checklist. Sites built on it can and do rank.
What we see far more often is a Wix site where none of that was ever touched. Default page titles still say Home. Every product sits on an auto-generated URL. Images are three times larger than they need to be. There is no schema, no internal linking plan, and no location pages for a business that serves five suburbs. That is an execution gap, and it is fixable without rebuilding anything.
So our first job is to tell you which problem you actually have. If your Wix site is underbuilt, we build it properly. The Work That Moves a Wix Site
Six areas where Wix sites most often leave performance on the table, all of them addressable inside the platform.
Technical SEO setup
Page titles, meta descriptions, slugs, canonical tags, robots rules, XML sitemap submission and the redirect map. The unglamorous layer that decides whether anything else you do gets counted.
Speed and Core Web Vitals
Image weight, above-the-fold layout, app and font bloat, and the third-party scripts nobody remembers adding. On Wix the levers are narrower than on a custom build, which makes using all of them matter more.
Site structure and internal links
Flat, shallow navigation with no topical grouping is the most common structural fault we find. We restructure pages, menus and internal links so your important pages are reachable and obviously important.
Structured data
Wix emits some schema automatically and lets you add custom markup per page. We add the types that describe your business — LocalBusiness, Product, FAQ, Article — and validate what is already there.
Local visibility
Google Business Profile, service-area and location pages, NAP consistency and review flow. For most Wix businesses this moves the needle faster than anything happening on the site itself.
Accessibility
Wix ships an accessibility wizard that handles some of it. Contrast, focus order, form labels, link text and media alternatives still need a human pass, and that pass is also what keeps demand letters away.

We publish more migration guides than almost anyone, so we are not going to pretend Wix fits every business. It stops fitting when you need custom data models, real integrations with systems of record, content volume in the thousands, multi-language beyond the basics, or engineering control over performance.
