Best Affiliate Link Tracking Software: 5 Tools That Tie Partner Traffic to Sales

By: Irina Shvaya | October 23, 2026

An affiliate can send you a buyer in three different ways: a link the buyer clicks, a code the buyer types at checkout, or a landing page you built for that one partner. Each path leaves a different trail, and a tracker that only follows one of them will hand credit to the wrong person or to nobody.

Affiliate link tracking software exists to close those gaps. It records which partner started the visit, matches the visit to a signup or an order, and turns the sale into a commission you can check and pay. The better tools do this across links, coupon codes and direct traffic at the same time, so a partner who promotes on a podcast gets the same credit as one who drops a link in a newsletter.

If you run an affiliate program, or you are the agency setting one up for a client, good tracking gives you commission numbers you can defend when a partner asks where their sale went. This roundup covers five tools for SaaS products, Shopify stores and WooCommerce shops, the same platforms we work with on ecommerce design and development. Start with the criteria below, then use the table to narrow the list before reading the full entries.

The Four Things Each Tool Had to Prove

It tracks more than one path

Links are the baseline. A tool earned its place by also crediting coupon codes, and ideally traffic that arrives without any parameter at all, because partners who talk about you on video or in print rarely get a clickable link in front of the buyer.

It confirms the sale where the money moves

A click only tells you someone visited. The tools here either read the order from your store or billing system, or accept a conversion from your server, so commissions follow real purchases and refunds.

It plays well with your analytics

Partner links should keep campaign tags intact, so the same visit shows up in your analytics tool. In Google Analytics 4 (see our guide to conversion tracking in GA4), that means custom campaign URLs built with utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign, which let you compare what the affiliate tool reports against what GA4 sees for the same partner.

It is priced for a small or mid-size program

Four of the five list an entry plan under $50/month, and the fifth, Trackier, offers a 30-day trial before you talk price. A small marketing team can test any of them without a procurement cycle.

The pick when partners promote through every channel at once and you bill through Stripe, Paddle, Chargebee, Recurly or Braintree.

Each partner record holds all three paths at once: the software tracks every affiliate link through to the billing event, credits the partner's coupon codes at checkout, and attributes visitors who land on a URL assigned to that partner. All three feed one commission record, so a partner who mixes links in a newsletter with a code read out on a podcast is credited in one place. Links point straight at your own pages with no redirect hop, and affiliates can create named links with sub-IDs for each placement, which shows which post or video produced the signup.

Commissions fire on billing events from the native integrations, so a trial that never converts costs nothing. On Stripe, the software creates and syncs promotion codes for partners; on Paddle and Chargebee you create the codes in the billing tool and it tracks them. Direct URL tracking needs the tracking snippet on the page and matches the exact URL, so it suits dedicated partner landing pages. You set how long a click stays attributed per campaign (60 days by default) and choose first click or last click. Setup takes about 15 minutes, with no engineering required. Plans start at $49/month (Starter, up to $5,000/month in affiliate revenue), with Business at $99/month up to $15,000 and Enterprise at $149+/month.

ProsCons
Links, coupon codes and direct URLs credited in one partner recordOne partner gets the credit (first or last click); there is no multi-touch split
Commissions tied to real billing events across five billing integrationsClicks carry no country data and there is no bot filtering at the click level; fraud checks (self-referrals, paid-ad traffic, blocked partners) run before a commission fires instead
No redirect hop, plus sub-ID links per placement

2. Trackier (Best for Performance Teams Running Many Publishers)

A fit for teams that manage a large publisher base and are comfortable wiring up postbacks.

Trackier is a performance marketing tracker that records conversions through tracking links, cookies, pixels, server-to-server postbacks and an API. Its coupon tracking handles three code types: generic codes shared across publishers (which still need a Trackier link), exclusive codes tied to one publisher, and single-use unique codes. An exclusive code credits its publisher even with no click. When a link and a code point to different publishers, the code wins by default, and you can change that priority. You can also whitelist or block specific publishers for each code and give a code start and end dates, which keeps a leaked code from paying out after a campaign ends.

Link tracking supports cookie tracking that Trackier describes as ITP-compliant, alongside its tracking tags. The product also flags click spam, fake conversions and bot traffic, and it can automate payouts. The catch is setup: your store or app has to send the coupon_code parameter back by postback, pixel or Web SDK, so plan for developer time. There's no public price list; you request a quote, and a 30-day trial covers your first 10,000 conversions free.

ProsCons
Generic, exclusive and single-use coupon codesNo public pricing
Click spam and bot traffic flagsConversions arrive by postback, pixel or SDK, which needs developer setup

3. LinkJolt (Best for Indie SaaS on Polar, Creem or Lemon Squeezy)

A low-cost option for small SaaS founders who bill through newer checkout platforms.

LinkJolt gives every affiliate a unique link and a coupon code, then attributes sales through billing integrations with Stripe, Paddle, Polar, Creem, Lemon Squeezy, Gumroad and WooCommerce, plus Apple in-app purchases. Stripe is its deepest connection, using webhooks for conversions and Stripe Connect for payouts. Automatic transfers reach banks in the US, UK, Canada, Switzerland and most of Europe; elsewhere you export a CSV for PayPal or Wise. Analytics show clicks, sales and revenue per affiliate, which is enough to see which partner's link or code is pulling its weight.

Starter costs $19.99/month and covers up to $5,000 in affiliate-driven sales, 5 campaigns and 10 active affiliates. Professional, at $39.99/month, removes the campaign and affiliate caps. Ultimate, at $99/month, raises the ceiling to $50,000 in monthly sales and adds an affiliate portal on your own domain, and Scale ($249/month) covers anything above that. LinkJolt charges no transaction fees on any plan, and there's a 7-day trial. Billing on annual terms brings each price down.

ProsCons
Wide coverage of indie billing platformsStarter caps you at 10 active affiliates
No transaction fees on any planAutomatic payouts only reach listed countries

4. Coupon Affiliates (Best for WooCommerce Stores Built Around Codes)

The natural choice when your store runs on WooCommerce and partners mostly share codes.

Coupon Affiliates is a WooCommerce plugin that gives each affiliate a coupon and a referral link. When a visitor clicks the link, the plugin applies the coupon automatically and logs the click in the affiliate's dashboard, so links and codes resolve to the same partner. You can set one global commission rate or custom rates by affiliate, group or product. Affiliates request payouts from their dashboard and you pay them by PayPal, Stripe, Wise or store credit. Through WooCommerce add-ons it also works with membership and course plugins such as Paid Memberships Pro, LifterLMS, LearnDash and MemberPress, which helps stores that sell access as well as products.

The core plugin is free on WordPress.org. Pro starts at $23.99/month for one site (the first payment is discounted), adds modules such as multi-level affiliates, performance bonuses and detailed reports, and comes with a 7-day trial and a 14-day money-back guarantee. Billed yearly, Pro for one site is $179.99, with 10-site and 25-site licenses for agencies running several stores.

ProsCons
Free core plugin with code-first trackingWorks only on WooCommerce
Link clicks auto-apply the partner's couponEach payout starts with an affiliate request in the dashboard

5. BixGrow (Best for Shopify Stores Starting Small)

A budget pick for Shopify merchants who want links and codes without touching theme code.

BixGrow installs from the Shopify App Store without extra theme code, which suits stores that would rather not commission custom Shopify app development. Affiliates share personal links or coupons, and referred customers can get a discount code for their next purchase. Rewards go out as cash or store credit. A dynamic coupon option generates a single-use code for each purchase made through an affiliate link. Commission options include a fixed amount per item and multi-level structures, where an affiliate also earns a smaller rate on the partners they recruit. Automated PayPal payouts are available on higher plans.

The free plan covers up to 30 affiliates with one coupon each; paid plans allow unlimited coupons per affiliate. Scale costs $19.99/month with unlimited affiliates, Pro is $29.99 and Advanced is $49.99, and paid plans come with a 14-day trial. For a store owner without a developer, the app-store install and the free tier are the main reasons to start here, and the move to a paid plan only matters once the program passes 30 partners.

ProsCons
Free plan for up to 30 affiliatesShopify only
No theme code to installAutomated PayPal payouts sit on higher plans

Matching the Tracker to How Your Partners Sell

Start with your checkout. A WooCommerce store narrows the field to Coupon Affiliates, a Shopify store to BixGrow, and a SaaS product to the tools that read your billing system. Picking a tracker that can't see where payment happens means reconciling commissions by hand every month.

Next, look at where your partners actually talk about you. Newsletter writers and bloggers live on links. Podcasters, YouTubers and anyone speaking at events need codes, because nobody clicks a spoken URL. Partners who send you B2B referrals often work best with a dedicated landing page.

Codes and assigned landing pages also cover a weakness of link tracking on its own. Safari caps script-writeable storage, including cookies, at seven days of browser use when the visitor doesn't interact with the site again, so a Safari buyer who clicks today and purchases a few weeks later can lose the trail. A code typed at checkout or a visit to a partner's own URL doesn't depend on that stored click.

Finally, be honest about engineering time. Trackier rewards teams that can send postbacks. The other four are built to work with a plugin, an app install or a snippet and a billing connection.

Before You Start a Free Trial

Write down every place your partners promote you today, and note whether each one ends in a click, a code or a landing page. That list tells you which tracking paths you need from day one.

Then pick two tools from the table that match your checkout, and run the same test in both: one partner link with UTM tags, one coupon code, and one test purchase each. Compare what the tool reports with what GA4 shows for the same visits. The tool whose numbers line up with your billing records, with the least manual cleanup, is the one to keep.

Last, set your commission rules before you invite partners. Changing the attribution window or payout terms after people have started promoting means renegotiating with every one of them.
