Overview

The portfolio is the pitch, and it has to load

Couples and event organizers do not arrive cold. They arrive with a Pinterest board, a folder of Instagram saves and three vendor tabs open, and they are answering two questions in the first few seconds on your site: does this work look like the day I have in my head, and is my date open. Everything else, the awards, the process, the founder story, is read later or not at all.

The reason so many wedding and event sites fail that test is the imagery they are built to show off. Full-resolution frames straight from a photographer's delivery gallery, stacked into a hero slideshow and a sixty-image real wedding post, are the heaviest pages on the open web outside of video. Largest Contentful Paint suffers, mobile suffers most, and mobile is where the shortlist actually gets made. Our website design work in this vertical starts at the image pipeline: responsive sources, modern formats, deferred loading below the fold, and a gallery that still reads like a printed editorial spread.

The second failure happens after the form. An event enquiry is not a transaction, it is the opening message in a relationship that runs a year or more to the event date, and most of them die in the silence between submit and your first reply, which lands on the Monday after a load-out weekend.

What makes this hard

What makes this vertical different

Wedding and event sites break in ways a general contractor's site never will, and each of these is a conversion rate problem before it is a traffic problem.

Galleries that outweigh the page

One real wedding post with unprocessed masters can carry more payload than an entire small store's catalog, and Core Web Vitals grades it accordingly. The answer is a delivery pipeline and smarter crops, not fewer photos, because fewer photos loses you the booking.

The date question comes first

Most first enquiries are really "are you available on this Saturday". Sites that bury that behind a general contact form send the couple to ask two other vendors while they wait, and whoever answers first usually gets the tour.

🌡️

Engagement season is not wedding season

Demand spikes when people get engaged over the holidays and around Valentine's Day, while your calendar is filling for dates far in the future and your team is heads-down in peak build and load-out months. The traffic and the revenue never land in the same quarter, so the site has to sell hardest when nobody is in the office.

💰

Pricing you cannot publish and cannot hide

Food and beverage minimums, peak Saturday premiums, rental delivery zones and guest-count tiers mean a single number would be wrong, so most vendors publish nothing at all. Couples read that as expensive and filter you out, when starting ranges, what is included and what moves the number would have kept you on the list.

You get found by the venue, not your brand

Planners, florists, DJs and photographers are searched for alongside the property, in queries shaped like a venue name plus wedding, and estates, barns, wineries and hotels each carry their own search demand. A portfolio organised by year instead of by venue throws that away.

How we work

How we build for venues, planners and vendors

We structure the site around the two things a couple is trying to confirm. Venue and package pages carry the details people actually screen on, capacity seated and standing, indoor and outdoor ceremony options, rain plan, curfew and noise limits, parking, whether catering is exclusive or open, and what a weekday in the shoulder season costs relative to a peak Saturday. Real wedding and real event posts are then filed by venue, season and style so each one becomes an entry point for a venue-name search and a credit link for every vendor on the team.

Local search behaves differently here depending on where you sit. A venue is a physical destination competing on map results and needs its Google Business Profile loaded with current interior and ceremony-setup photos, correct attributes and tour booking. A florist, DJ, planner or rental company works a service radius instead, with travel fees and delivery zones stated plainly, which is a different build inside local SEO. Both live or die on review velocity, and reviews stop arriving in the off-season unless someone builds a request into the post-event closeout.

Then we wire the enquiry path. A date field and event type at the top of the form, a realistic guest count, an honest budget range, an automatic acknowledgement that answers the availability question or at least sets a reply time, and a clean handoff into whatever you already run the season on, HoneyBook, Dubsado, Aisle Planner, Tripleseat, Perfect Venue or Planning Pod. Source tracking survives that handoff, so you can see whether the booking started on a Pinterest pin, a venue's preferred-vendor list or a map result.

What's included

What we do for events and wedding businesses

Design, build, search and the plumbing between your website and the software your season already runs on.

Core Web Vitals remediation for slow slideshow, lightbox and masonry gallery themes

Venue and package pages covering capacity, layouts, rain plans, curfews, minimums and inclusions
Local SEO and Google Business Profile work for venue destinations and for service-radius vendors
Structured data for Event, LocalBusiness, ImageObject and FAQ so dates, places and galleries are machine readable

Off-season content and review request programs that keep you visible while the calendar is quiet

The process

How an events project runs

We schedule around your season rather than ours, which usually means discovery during peak months and launch before engagement season starts.

1

Season and enquiry mapping

We chart when enquiries actually arrive against when the events happen and when your team is unreachable on site. That sets the build calendar, so nothing ships the week of a load-in.

2

Portfolio and rights intake

We collect masters from every photographer you work with, settle usage and credit, and sort the library by venue, season and style. The image pipeline gets rebuilt before a single page is designed.

3

Design and build

Galleries, venue and package pages, and the vendor team pages get built mobile first, because that is where a couple is scrolling late at night. Print-quality look, web-weight delivery.

4

Enquiry path and CRM wiring

Date-first forms, tour scheduling, automatic acknowledgement and a tested handoff into your existing booking system, with the traffic source carried through so bookings can be traced back to their origin.

5

Search and off-season content

Venue-name posts, service-area pages and profile work go live ahead of engagement season, then we keep publishing through the quiet months while your competitors go dark.

FAQ

Questions we get from event and wedding businesses

Should we publish pricing when every event is quoted differently?
Publish a floor and the shape of the number rather than a single figure. A starting range, what is included at that level, and the things that move it, peak Saturday dates, guest count tiers, food and beverage minimums, delivery distance, gives couples enough to self-qualify. Vendors who publish nothing get screened out by budget-conscious couples and then spend their time on enquiries they cannot serve.
Our photos come from a dozen different photographers. How do you handle that?
We work from the highest-quality files you are licensed to use and we keep the credit attached to the image, not buried in a footer. During intake we confirm usage rights per set, sort images by venue and season, and build per-post credit blocks that link out to the photographer and the rest of the vendor team. That credit exchange is also how vendors in this industry earn links from each other.
Do real wedding blog posts still do anything for search?
They are still the most reliable way for planners, florists, DJs and photographers to rank, because couples search the venue they have already booked and want to see what has been done there. One post per event, titled and structured around the property, filed with the season and the style, and cross-linked to your venue pages, does more than a general blog ever will. It also gives every other vendor on that day a reason to link back to you.
We are already booked out for next season. Why rebuild now?
Because the enquiries arriving this winter are for the season after the one you are booked for, and the work has to be finished before that wave starts. Rebuilding during peak months is also the only time your team can review anything, since the alternative is proofing pages between a Friday load-in and a Sunday strike.
Can the site connect to our booking and planning software?
Yes. We build native forms on your own domain rather than dropping in a vendor iframe wherever the platform allows it, then pass the enquiry into HoneyBook, Dubsado, Aisle Planner, Tripleseat, Perfect Venue or Planning Pod with the source and campaign data attached. Where a platform only offers an embedded widget we test it against your consent and security setup first, because a blocked third-party frame silently swallows leads.
Do you work with other visual, appointment-driven businesses?
Yes, and several of them overlap with the wedding calendar. Salons, makeup artists and med spas are covered on our beauty and cosmetics page, hotel and venue technology stacks on our hospitality technology page, and the full list is on our industries page.
