AB Training Center (ABTrainingCenter.com) is an eSEOspace client: we work on its website and search marketing. Prices, dates and state rules change, so confirm them on abtrainingcenter.com before you buy. This guide is not legal or licensing advice: your state insurance department and FINRA set the actual requirements.

What is AB Training Center?

AB Training Center is the insurance and financial services website of TrainingCenter, a company that runs a family of training sites from the same Alpharetta, Georgia office. Its About page says TrainingCenter has been in business since 1994 and offers training for HR, payroll, safety, accounting, banking, insurance, finance, real estate, mortgage and sales professionals, with "its own unique website" for each field. ABTrainingCenter.com is the one for insurance agents, brokers, adjusters and financial advisors. The home page describes it as having helped these professionals "for over 30 years."

The site frames its catalog around the "life cycle" of a career: getting licensed, earning certifications or designations, keeping licenses current with continuing education, and building skills afterwards. In practice the catalog falls into five groups:

  • Insurance pre-licensing: Life & Health, Property & Casualty (P&C) and claims adjuster courses, organized by state.
  • Securities licensing: exam prep for the FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam and "Top-Off" exams such as the Series 6 and Series 7, plus pages on the Series 63, 65, 66 and principal exams.
  • Insurance certifications: study guides for designations such as the CPCU, ARM, AIC and APA.
  • Financial advisor certificates: online certificate programs such as Asset Management and Integrated Wealth Planning and Advice.
  • Workers' compensation: state Workers' Compensation Specialist packages, online courses and webinars.

Because it shares a catalog with its sister sites, the AB site also lists some HR courses (for example FMLA and internal investigations seminars) alongside the insurance material.

It is a training retailer, not a regulator. It does not issue insurance licenses or securities registrations. Those come from your state's department of insurance and, for securities, from FINRA and the states after you pass their exams.

Who runs AB Training Center?

The site does not name an owner, founder or management team. It signs its pages "Your TrainingCenter Team" and lists the same address and phone number (9715 Rod Road, Suite A, Alpharetta, GA 30022; 770-410-1219) used by its sister sites. Instructors for the live classes are not named on the pages we checked.

Many of the courses themselves are produced by outside education companies. Product pages say that after you order, "you will receive an email from the course provider" with access instructions, and some pages name the provider. So in many cases AB Training Center is the place you buy and get support, while the course platform belongs to a specialist content provider. If it matters to you whose platform you'll use, the product page or a phone call will tell you.

Is AB Training Center legit?

People ask this before paying for a licensing course from a site they haven't heard of. Here is what can be checked on the site itself:

  • A physical address, phone and email. The site lists a street address in Alpharetta, Georgia, a phone number (770-410-1219) and support@ABTrainingCenter.com on every page, plus a contact form.
  • Published prices and terms. Every course page we checked shows a price, what's included, the access period, and the pass guarantee terms in writing.
  • State approval details on some courses. The Texas All-Lines Adjuster course page gives a Texas Department of Insurance course number (#16439) and provider number (#33304). We did not check those numbers in the TDI database; you can ask TDI or the company to confirm them.
  • A written refund policy. The Guarantee page explains when online courses and seminars can be refunded or exchanged (details below).
  • The company's own figures. It describes a "self-reported" 93% pass rate (93.6% on product pages), says it is "trusted by thousands of companies," and on the Guarantee page says it receives "a nearly-perfect 5 out of 5 rating" for its courses. Some HR seminars on its calendar show ratings such as 4.88 from 444 reviews. These are the company's own figures, collected and displayed by the company.

We did not find an independent review profile with enough history to quote, so we haven't. If outside reviews matter to you, ask the company for references, or call before ordering to check that the course is approved in your state.

Property & Casualty license courses

A P&C license lets you sell insurance that protects property and covers liability: homeowners, auto, renters, commercial property and liability policies. AB Training Center sells two main P&C products, both chosen by state:

CoursePriceFormatAccess
Property & Casualty Insurance Prelicensing Exam Prep Course$209.95Self-paced online60 days; extensions can be bought
Live Online Property & Casualty Insurance Pre-Licensing Exam Prep$319.95Self-study plus two days of live online instruction60 days; extensions can be bought

What's in the self-paced course, according to its page: an interactive learning portal where you can highlight and take notes, on-demand video lectures organized by topic, online exam simulations that adapt to what you already know, online flashcards, instructor support by phone and email, and a final "Guarantee Exam" (two attempts) that acts as a last check before the state exam. The course covers homeowners policies, auto insurance, commercial building and auto fleet policies, and state-specific regulations.

The live online version adds two full days of instructor-led review: one day on property (risk, hazards, perils, policy structure, valuation, dwelling and homeowners policies) and one on casualty (liability, negligence, commercial general liability, auto, endorsements and federal regulations). The next listed session when we checked ran 21 to 22 October 2026, 11:00 am to 6:00 pm Eastern. Sessions are recorded for playback, and it also includes "ListenUp!" audio reviews. The company recommends picking a date about two weeks after you order so you can study first.

When we checked, the state list on the P&C course pages did not include Florida or Illinois. If you're in one of those states, call before ordering. The site also sells study materials for P&C designations such as the CPCU (see certifications).

Life & Health license courses

A Life & Health (L&H) license, called "Life, Health and Accident" in some states, lets you sell life, disability, long-term care, Medicare and other health products. The site describes the pre-licensing content as covering whole, term and universal life, annuities, PPOs, HMOs and major medical coverage, policy riders, exclusions and provisions, plus state regulations and ethics.

The Georgia Life & Health page, as an example of how the state pages are set up, lists these products:

  • Live Online Georgia Life & Health Insurance Pre-Licensing Exam Prep: $319.95
  • Georgia Life & Health Insurance Prelicensing Online Course: $209.95
  • Georgia Life Insurance Prelicensing Online Course (life only): $209.95
  • Georgia Health Insurance Prelicensing Online Course (health only): $209.95

The materials listed include a downloadable textbook with state insurance laws, class notes and audio review, on-demand video review and practice exam questions. The site says you can choose a life-only license, a health-only license, or both.

Claims adjuster licensing

Claims adjusters investigate and settle insurance claims. The site offers pre-licensing for All-Lines Adjuster, Property & Casualty Adjuster and Workers' Compensation Adjuster licenses, in self-study and virtual formats, with a page for every state.

A theme across these pages is the Designated Home State (DHS) license. The site explains that some states (it says "about 15," and elsewhere "all but 16" require a license) don't license adjusters, so people living there often get a license through another state that offers a DHS route. It names Florida and Texas as the states whose All-Lines courses it offers for this.

Texas All-Lines Adjuster Pre-Licensing Online Course: $279. According to its page, the course (including its exam) satisfies Texas Department of Insurance requirements for the All-Lines adjuster license, which covers residential, commercial, auto, farm and ranch, ocean and inland marine, and workers' compensation claims. Topics include insurance terms, personal lines (homeowner policy forms), commercial lines, auto, inland and ocean marine, the standard fire policy, adjuster bonds, adjuster practices, licensing requirements and workers' comp. The page estimates 40 hours of study, and access instructions arrive by email from the course provider within 48 hours. The page describes the process in two ways (applying to TDI after the course, and using the completion certificate to register for an exam), so ask the company exactly what you'll still need to do with TDI after finishing.

Xactimate training. Xactimate is the estimating software most property adjusters use. The site sells a live online Xactimate class held over three consecutive evenings (6 to 10 pm Eastern, 12 hours in all) using GoToTraining. The agenda covers the program's interface, price lists, starting an estimate, Sketch for rooms and roofs, adding photos, and building a full mock estimate. Students get 30 days of free access to Xactimate for the class. We didn't see a price or upcoming dates on the pages we checked, so call for both.

The site's Florida All-Lines adjuster (CCA designation) course link, shown on the home page and the adjuster page, opened the home page when we checked, so ask the company whether that course is still offered.

Securities licensing: SIE, Series 7 and more

Securities licensing works differently from insurance licensing: the exams are national, run by FINRA, rather than state-by-state. As the site explains, to get a Series 6, 7, 79 or 99 license you pass the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam plus the matching "Top-Off" exam. The site says you don't need to be associated with a FINRA member firm to sit the SIE, and that it is open to anyone 18 or older.

CoursePriceAccessWhat's included (per the course page)
Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) online package$284.006 monthsPrinted and PDF study manual (UPS ground shipping included), custom exams, "Crunch Time Facts," progress, final and "Green Light" exams, 20+ hours of on-demand lectures, 1,800+ digital flashcards, instructor hotline, 24/7 tech support, free updates
Series 7 Top-Off Online Exam Prep Course$349.0090 days; extensions can be boughtHard-copy textbook and eBook, video lectures, flashcards, quizzes, checkpoint exams, a personalized study plan, online and phone instructor support, practice sets, a custom exam generator and a readiness exam

The SIE page describes the exam as 85 multiple-choice questions over an hour and 45 minutes, with a score of 70 needed to pass, across four sections: capital markets, products and their risks, trading and customer accounts, and the regulatory framework. It estimates 24 hours for the SIE course. For the Series 7, it says the average person spends around 100 hours across the SIE and Series 7 study.

The Securities Licensing page also describes the Series 3, 4, 6, 9, 10, 24, 26, 27, 32, 52, 53, 57, 62, 63, 65, 66, 79 and 99 exams, and the home page FAQ says in-person training is available for the Series 6 and 7. A "Series 7 Top-Off Live Online Package" linked from the Series 7 page opened the home page when we checked, so for live Series 7 options, call.

Certifications and designations

The site sells two kinds of certification products, as its FAQ puts it: complete programs that end in an included exam and certificate (for example its Workers' Compensation Specialist and Certified Professional in Disability Management programs), and study materials for designations awarded by other bodies (for example ARM, AIC and APA).

CPCU study guides. The Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation is "owned, developed, and administered by The Institutes," as the site notes. AB Training Center sells online study guides for individual CPCU courses at $395 each, including CPCU 500, 510, 530, 540, 553 and 557. The site describes the designation as requiring eight courses: four foundation courses, one elective and three from a personal or commercial concentration. The CPCU course names and numbers listed on the page don't all match each other, so check the current requirements with The Institutes before buying a guide.

Financial advisor certificates. The Asset Management Certificate Program is $1,795: 15 modules (from investment management basics and asset allocation through inherited wealth, behavioral finance and performance reporting), about 9 hours of content, and six months to finish and print your certificate. The catalog also lists a Certificate in Integrated Wealth Planning and Advice, a Certificate in Financial Reporting and Analysis, and shorter courses such as Analyzing Financial Statements and Fundamentals of Accounting.

Other subjects in the course finder include ARM, AIC, AINS, CLU, CFP-related study, annuities, IRAs, long-term care, retirement plans, surplus lines and sales training.

Workers' compensation training

Workers' comp is a large part of the site. It has a page for every state, a Workers' Compensation Specialist (WCS) designation for 20 states, online courses, and webinars such as "Workers' Comp 101: The Whats, Whens, and Whys" (90 minutes, available recorded and on demand).

How the WCS designation works, using the Georgia package ($950) as the example: you first complete "How Workers' Compensation Works," about 10 hours across 11 modules on issues common to all states, and pass its exam. Then you take the state series (for Georgia, six modules and almost 6 hours taught by insurance professionals and Georgia attorneys) and pass that exam. Pass both and you earn the designation. You get six months of access, annual updates are included, and renewal to keep access and get a new certificate is $199 a year. Access instructions come from the course provider.

The WCS states listed when we checked were California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.

Individual workers' comp courses on the Georgia page included How Workers' Compensation Works ($795), Workers' Comp Technical Professional ($795), Foundations in Disability and Absence Management ($549), Certified Professional in Disability Management ($1,480) and Georgia Workers' Compensation Series Training and Exam ($299). The state pages also summarize each state's coverage rules, with a disclaimer that the information "is subject to change" and is not legal advice.

Self-paced vs live. The FAQ says the virtual (instructor-led) option "typically costs about $100 more" than the self-paced version, and that the difference pays for the instructor. The P&C prices above ($209.95 vs $319.95) fit that.

What isn't included. Course prices don't cover your state's exam fee, fingerprinting or license application fee, or FINRA exam fees. Those are paid to the testing vendor, the state or FINRA, and they vary. The site's state pages list some fees, but fees change, so confirm the current amounts with your state or FINRA.

Discounts, financing and payment. The pages we checked didn't publish volume discounts or financing for licensing courses. Orders go through an online cart. For group or company orders, call.

Self-paced or live online: how each works

Before COVID, the site's FAQ explains, licensing students attended in person at hotels or conference centers. Now the "in-person" option is taught by video conference. Here's how the two main formats compare:

Self-paced onlineLive online (instructor-led)
Price differenceBase priceAbout $100 more
ScheduleAny timeFixed dates (two successive days for P&C), plus self-study
InstructorPhone and email supportLive sessions plus phone and email support
RecordingNot applicableSessions recorded for playback
Online course still required?YesYes: you must complete the online course either way

The FAQ is clear that instructors "do not read the materials page by page." In live classes, the instructor covers key topics and answers questions over two days. You still have to finish the online course, which is what produces your Certificate of Completion.

From course to license, step by step

This is the general path the site describes for insurance licensing. Your state's exact rules come first (see below).

  1. Pick your license and state. Choose Life & Health, P&C or Adjuster, then your state page. Each state page lists the recommended courses.
  2. Choose a format and order. Self-paced or live online. For live classes you pick a date at checkout.
  3. Get your access email. The course provider emails access instructions (the Texas adjuster page says within 48 hours). Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive.
  4. Study. Work through the portal, videos, flashcards and practice exams. The company suggests scheduling your state exam once you score 80% or higher on two or three practice exams in a row.
  5. Take the Guarantee Exam. A final readiness check (two attempts). Your score here matters for the pass guarantee.
  6. Get your Certificate of Completion. The site says you need it to schedule your licensing exam.
  7. Schedule and pass the state exam. The site says it lists exam facility contact details at the bottom of each state page.
  8. Apply for the license. Most states also require an application and a background check, often with fingerprints, before you can be licensed and appointed by an insurer.

For securities, the path the site describes is the SIE exam plus the matching Top-Off exam, both run by FINRA.

The pass guarantee

Most licensing products carry a "Pass Guarantee," but the terms differ by product, so read the one on the course you're buying:

  • P&C courses: if you fail the state exam within three days after scoring 80% on the Guarantee Exam, the company says it will refund the cost of the material.
  • Series 7 Top-Off: if you don't pass within three days after scoring 80% or higher on the Readiness Exam, it says it will refund the cost of the course.
  • SIE package: if you complete all Progress Exams and score 75% or better on the Final and Green Light exams, it says it will refund the course cost if you fail the SIE, and keep helping you prepare.

The general FAQ page describes the Guarantee Exam differently: as giving you continued access to the course and materials if you pass it but fail your state exam. Because the two descriptions differ, ask the company to confirm in writing which applies to your order, and keep your exam score reports.

Refunds, cancellations and access periods

  • Online courses: the Guarantee page says an online course that hasn't been used is "usually exchangeable or refundable."
  • Seminars: usually exchangeable but not refundable within 14 days of the seminar, because the company guarantees headcount and prepays the venue.
  • Travel: the company isn't responsible for air or travel costs and recommends against non-refundable flights or hotels.
  • Return fee: it reserves the right to charge a return fee to cover shipping, handling and card costs.
  • Access periods: 60 days for the P&C pre-licensing courses (the FAQ says extensions are available on request; product pages say they can be purchased), 90 days for the Series 7 Top-Off, six months for the SIE package, the WCS packages and the Asset Management Certificate.

Given the short access windows on some courses, plan when to start. Ordering a 60-day course weeks before you can study uses up your access.

Check your state's rules first

Insurance licensing rules are set by each state, and they change. A course seller's state page may not reflect the latest rule change, and the site's own Georgia pages give different hour figures in different places. The site itself says requirements "vary from state to state," and its state pages carry a disclaimer that information "is subject to change."

Before you buy, confirm on your state department of insurance website:

  • Whether your state requires a pre-licensing course for your line at all, and how many hours.
  • Whether the specific course you're buying is approved in your state (ask the company for the approval or provider number).
  • The current exam, fingerprint and license application fees.

For securities exams, FINRA's website has the current exam content outlines and fees.

Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere

A good fit if you…

  • Need a state pre-licensing course for Life & Health or P&C and want to study online at your own pace
  • Want a short live review with an instructor without traveling
  • Are heading into securities and want SIE and Top-Off prep from the same place
  • Work in claims or workers' comp and want a state WCS designation or Xactimate skills
  • Want one vendor for licensing now and certifications later

Look elsewhere if you…

  • Live in Florida or Illinois and need a P&C course (call first: those states weren't in the P&C course list when we checked)
  • Need a fully in-person classroom course
  • Expect to need more than 60 to 90 days to study and don't want to pay for an extension
  • Want a named instructor or published instructor bios before you buy
  • Need advice on a specific licensing or legal question: ask your state department of insurance or FINRA

Questions to ask before you buy

  1. Is this exact course approved in my state for my license line, and what is its approval or provider number?
  2. Does it meet my state's current hour requirement?
  3. Who provides the course platform, and when will I get access?
  4. Which pass guarantee applies to my order: a refund, or continued access?
  5. How long is my access, and what does an extension cost?
  6. For live classes, when are the next dates and who teaches them?
  7. What state exam, fingerprint and license fees should I budget for separately?

How to get started

  1. Choose your license type: Life & Health, Property & Casualty, Adjuster or Securities.
  2. Open your state's page and compare the recommended self-paced and live courses.
  3. Read the pass guarantee and access period on the course page.
  4. Call 770-410-1219 or email support@ABTrainingCenter.com with questions, or use the contact form.
