Here is what it makes, what it costs and how ordering works.

MX Trophies is an eSEOspace client: we work on its website and search marketing. This guide uses the company's own published information, checked on 19 October 2026, and every source is listed at the end. We don't rate or score our clients. Prices and policies change, so confirm them on mx-trophies.com or in a written quote before you order.

What is MX Trophies?
MX Trophies is a trophy and award manufacturer in Carson City, Nevada. The "MX" comes from motocross, and racing is still the center of the business: the site has pages for more than 25 kinds of events, from motocross, supercross and arenacross to karting, drag racing, sprint cars, power boat and offshore racing, jet ski racing, snowcross, BMX, RC car racing and car shows. Over time it has added corporate recognition, school and team awards, and event signage.
The company's main point about itself is that it makes the awards rather than reselling a catalog. Its process page says: "We digitally print, laser or cnc cut and assemble all awards in-house." Its local page puts it this way: "A manufacturer, not a storefront with a catalog." The awards are designed for each order around the customer's own logo, class names and sponsor marks, then printed, cut and assembled in the Carson City shop.
Its home page sums up the offer in four phrases: "No minimum order. Fast turnaround. Free design. Nationwide shipping." This guide looks at what sits behind each of those, including where the site's own pages disagree with each other.
Who owns or runs MX Trophies?
The website does not name an owner, founder or management team, and it does not say when the business started. The About page describes the company's approach ("the award partner built for speed, grit, and style") but gives no names or dates. Customer testimonials on the site mention staff by first name when describing help with design and delivery, which suggests a small team that handles orders directly.
If you want to know who you'll be dealing with, ask when you call. For a large or recurring order (a full racing season, or a company-wide recognition program), it's reasonable to ask who your contact will be and who approves proofs on the shop side.
Is MX Trophies legit?
Here is what a buyer can check before placing an order:
- A physical shop you can visit. The address, 4010 Technology Way, Suite A, Carson City, NV 89706, appears on every page, and the company invites people to "stop by with questions or an order" during opening hours.
- A real phone line that takes texts. 775-847-0795 is published for calls and for "Text to Order."
- Published hours. Monday to Thursday 7 AM to 4 PM, Friday 7 to 11 AM, closed weekends.
- Published prices. Several product lines list per-item prices, including full price tables for the HD and WB Series semi-custom awards and for lapel pins by size and quantity.
- Photos of finished work. The gallery shows orders "photographed in the shop before they shipped," with captions naming the event and class printed on each award, for example a District 36 Enduro Championship award and a District 37 GP Series set.
- You see the design before you pay. The process and ordering pages say a design proof comes first, and the sales order with a payment link follows only after you approve the artwork.
- Customer testimonials. The site shows a "What People Say" section with named customer comments, including a race organizer from northern California. These are selected and displayed by the company itself.
We did not find a public business registration or Better Business Bureau record in a quick search, so we have not cited one. If that matters to you, search the Nevada Secretary of State's business database for the name, or ask the company for references from an event like yours.
What does MX Trophies make?
The catalog falls into seven groups:
| Product group | What it is | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Acrylic plate awards | 1/8" clear gloss acrylic, printed from behind and laser cut to any outline | Class awards at races, high-volume team and corporate awards |
| Semi-custom awards (HD and WB Series) | Stock trophy body with a custom-printed acrylic graphic, on a marine board or wood base | Multi-class events that want a standing trophy at a set price |
| Fully custom awards | Three-dimensional pieces designed from scratch in layered acrylic, PVC, steel, wood or leather | Overall champions, series titles, one-off presentation pieces |
| Wood plaques | Finished wood with a printed acrylic face, or laser etched into the wood | Corporate, service, retirement and banquet awards |
| Medallions | Cast 2" medallions, acrylic medallions, or steel with an acrylic face, all with neck ribbons | Finisher medals, participation and placing awards |
| Lapel pins | Offset printed, die struck, soft enamel and cloisonne pins | Finisher pins, club trading pins, service milestones |
| Event items | Canopies, flags, sunblades, banners, signs, 30 second boards, stickers, key chains, table covers, T-shirts, displays | Race-day signage, sponsor booths, giveaways |
The company also builds perpetual trophies and plaques with metal name plates. It says it does not sell glass or crystal awards, and that its work is building new awards: if you want an item you already own engraved, it asks you to call first and check.
Acrylic plate awards
The home page calls plate awards "our best selling and fastest turnaround product." Each is a flat panel of 1/8" high-gloss clear acrylic, "2nd surface printed to provide depth" and laser cut to any shape. Second-surface printing means the ink goes on the back of the clear acrylic, so you look at the artwork through the acrylic. The company explains the two practical effects: the print can't be scuffed or peeled by handling, and the colors appear to sit inside the award. Artwork is laid down in mirror image for this, which the shop handles during layout.
Plates come in 8", 10", 12", 14" and 16" sizes. The same artwork can be scaled across sizes, and the site describes a common setup of larger plates for overall and class winners with smaller sizes for the rest of the podium. The company says racing events tend to call these "plates" and corporate buyers call them "plaques," but it's the same product.
Finishes the site describes for plates include standard gloss, full-face printed graphics, layered (two or more panels stacked for depth, usually for overall winners), series designs that keep the same artwork across rounds, and outlines cut to the shape of a club or series logo.
Price. The acrylic plate page's table lists $9 for 8" up to $17 for 16", while the product listing shows a range of $10 to $19 and the page summary says "$9 to $19." The site also says ground shipping is free on acrylic plate orders. Ask for the per-size price in your quote.
Care. The company's care advice is mild soap and water on a soft microfiber cloth, no paper towels, and no ammonia or alcohol cleaners (it warns these can cause permanent fine cracking called crazing). Keep acrylic awards out of strong sun and away from heat.
Semi-custom awards: the HD and WB Series
Semi-custom awards put a custom-printed acrylic graphic on a standard trophy body. You customize the printed graphics, text, logos, class and placing; the shape and structure come from the company's set designs. The site says that is why they "cost less and build faster than fully custom work," and that a layout can be reused for future events with new dates, sponsors or classes.
HD Series. A "heavy marine board base with an acrylic main section backed by PVC and an acrylic graphic area over the bottom footer." Six sizes, each with upgrades for one extra layer, two extra layers or added steel:
| Model | Standard | +1 layer | +2 layers | + steel |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HD-10 (10") | $28 | $38 | $48 | $45 |
| HD-12 (12") | $36 | $48 | $60 | $58 |
| HD-14 (14") | $46 | $62 | $78 | $74 |
| HD-16 (16") | $54 | $71 | $90 | $86 |
| HD-18 (18") | $67 | $84 | $103 | $99 |
| HD-20 (20") | $85 | $102 | $121 | $117 |
WB Series. The same construction on "a sturdy wooden base." Four sizes:
| Model | Price each |
|---|---|
| WB-10 (10") | $25 |
| WB-12 (12") | $32 |
| WB-14 (14") | $41 |
| WB-16 (16") | $48 |
Both series carry the note "No minimum order, *setup fees may apply." The company says semi-custom awards are popular for events with many classes, because every award shares one design while class and placing change.
Fully custom awards
Fully custom awards are "designed around your budget," built from scratch as three-dimensional pieces rather than a printed plate on a stock body. The silhouette, materials, number of layers and how the piece stands are all decided for your event. The company's examples are an award shaped like a circuit outline, a boat profile or a brand mark.
Materials the site lists:
- Stainless steel: laser cut, often the structural layer, with "a hard, industrial edge."
- 1/2" fire-polished acrylic: depth and clarity with polished edges; the usual main body.
- 1/2" to 1" PVC: thick layers at lower weight, useful for large pieces that still have to ship.
- Distressed wood: texture and a heritage feel.
- Leather: an accent material.
You don't need a drawing. The company says the usual starting point is a description of the event, a budget per piece, the quantity and any logos. Design comes back as a proof at no charge, and nothing is produced until you approve it. Because there's no minimum, a single champion's trophy is a normal order. Fully custom prices are quoted per project: the home page price list shows "Contact us" for custom work.
Wood plaques and perpetual trophies
MX Trophies makes wood plaques in two styles: a full-color printed 1/8" acrylic face mounted on finished wood, or laser etching directly into the wood. The site lists seven sizes from 5"×7" to 12"×15" (5×7, 6×8, 7×9, 8×10, 9×12, 10×13 and 12×15) and oak, cherry or black finishes. It says the plaques come wall-mount ready with hanging hardware. Typical uses on the site are employee of the year, service milestones, retirement, sponsor and donor recognition, and season championships.
Wood plaque prices are published, but the figures are not the same everywhere on the site: the category summary says "$13 to $50," while the product listings show $25 to $44 for acrylic-face plaques and $35 to $50 for etched ones. Ask for a quote for your size and style.
Perpetual trophies. The company builds perpetual trophies (presented each year, with each winner's name added on a plate) and perpetual wall plaques. Its planning guide advises building enough plates for at least 10 to 12 years on an annual award, adding the future plates blank from the start so they match, keeping plate wording to name and year, and agreeing written rules up front: when the trophy comes back, who pays for damage, who adds the plate. A custom perpetual can combine a layered, full-color acrylic top with a wood or acrylic base carrying metal name plates.
Medallions and lapel pins
Medallions. Three builds, all "digitally printed, cut to shape and include neck ribbon":
- 2" round cast medallions in gold, silver or bronze with a custom-designed 2" center decal.
- Acrylic medallions, laser cut from 1/8" acrylic to any shape.
- Steel with acrylic: 1/16" stainless steel cut to any shape with a custom-cut 1/8" acrylic face plate.
The medallion page summary gives $3 for cast, $6 for acrylic and $15.50 for steel with acrylic, though a comparison table on the same page shows different figures for the 4" acrylic and steel versions. For races, the site describes finisher medals for every runner plus placing awards for overall and age-group winners, and says a small charity run can order custom medals because there is no minimum.
Lapel pins. Four processes:
| Pin type | How it's made | Best for (company's description) |
|---|---|---|
| Offset printed | Full-color print on a gold or nickel blank, sealed with a clear epoxy dome | Photos, gradients, small text; the company's "most popular pin" |
| Soft enamel | Recessed color areas with a slightly textured feel | Casual, dimensional look; cost-effective at volume |
| Die struck | Stamped metal detail with no color fill | Classic all-metal logos and badges |
| Cloisonne | Hard enamel, kiln fired and polished flat | Commemorative, higher-end pins |
Pin price tables run by size (3/4" to 2") and quantity (100 to 10,000). For example, a 3/4" offset pin is listed at $3.49 each for 100, dropping to $0.91 each for 10,000. The page headline says pins start "at $0.84 each at volume." The tables start at 100 pieces, so ask about smaller runs.
Canopies, flags, banners and other event items
MX Trophies also prints the signage and giveaways for an event. The company's point is that the same artwork covers awards and signage, so "the marks match in the podium photograph." Published details include:
| Item | Published details | Price shown |
|---|---|---|
| Canopy (full tent package) | Dye-sublimated 6 oz. waterproof-coated fabric, 120" x 120" footprint, 124.5" to 137" tall, 51 lb with hardware | $599 |
| 16' feather sunblade flag | 4 oz. polyester, ground stake hardware included | $119 |
| 3' x 5' pole flag | 4 oz. polyester, dye sublimation, two finishing options | $69 |
| Vinyl banners | 13 oz. scrim vinyl, or 18 oz. blockout vinyl for street and light-pole banners; up to 10' x 145' in one piece; optional double-sided | Quote |
| 30 second boards | 24" x 32", 1/4" PVC, printed both sides, hand holds cut on each side | Quote |
| Key chains | 2" or 3", acrylic, steel, or steel with acrylic face, custom shape | $1.50 to $4.00 each |
| Stickers and decals, signs, table covers, T-shirts, displays | Digitally printed and cut to shape (stickers); screen or digital printed shirts | Contact for pricing |
For flags, banners and sunblades the site notes that a proof "will follow order and must be approved to start production."
Who MX Trophies works with
- Race and event organizers. The core customer. The site has separate pages for motocross, supercross, arenacross, ATV and quad, side-by-side (SXS), flat track, supermoto, motorcycle road racing, BMX, karting, quarter midget, sprint car, drag racing, rally, Ultra 4, rock racing, snowcross, RC car racing, power boat, offshore and jet ski racing, surfing, paddleboarding, fishing tournaments, and car shows.
- Companies. Employee of the month and year, years of service, sales, safety milestone, leadership and retirement awards, with a "Recognition Library" of planning and wording guides.
- Schools, teams and clubs. Season awards, tournament trophies, banquet and senior night pieces, and sports from soccer and softball to pickleball and wrestling.
- Community groups. Donor, sponsor, volunteer and memorial plaques, and club perpetual trophies.
- Spanish speakers. The Spanish section says "Atendemos en español" (we serve customers in Spanish).
Where is MX Trophies, and can you visit?
The shop is at 4010 Technology Way, Suite A, Carson City, NV 89706, on the airport side of town next to the Carson City Airport. The company invites customers to stop by with questions or an order during opening hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 7 AM to 4 PM
- Friday: 7 AM to 11 AM
- Saturday and Sunday: closed
Friday closes before midday, which the company itself flags. Its local page lists the nearby areas it serves in person: Carson City, Reno and Sparks to the north, Incline Village, Stateline and South Lake Tahoe to the west, Minden, Gardnerville and Genoa to the south, and Dayton, Virginia City and Fernley to the east. One testimonial on the site mentions the shop took a little finding, so check the map before you drive. If you want to collect an order in person instead of having it shipped, the company asks you to say so when you request the quote.
Everyone else orders remotely. The company says the whole exchange can happen by email "wherever in the country you are," and it ships nationwide.
How much does MX Trophies cost?
These are the prices published on the site when we checked on 19 October 2026. Where the site shows different figures on different pages, we say so.
| What you buy | Published price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Acrylic plate award | From $9 (8") | Per-size prices differ between pages ($9 to $17 in one table, $10 to $19 in the listing) |
| WB Series semi-custom | $25 to $48 | 10" to 16", wood base |
| HD Series semi-custom | $28 to $85 standard; up to $121 with two extra layers | 10" to 20", marine board base |
| Wood plaques | Listed; figures vary by page | Seven sizes, acrylic face or etched |
| Medallions | From about $3 (cast 2") | Acrylic and steel versions cost more |
| Lapel pins | $3.49 down to under $1 each | Depends on type, size and quantity (100 to 10,000) |
| Fully custom awards | Quoted per project | Built around your budget |
| Canopy package | $599 | Printed canopy plus hardware |
| Feather sunblade / pole flag | $119 / $69 | Hardware included with the sunblade |
| Key chains | $1.50 to $4.00 each | By size and material |
| Design and proofs | Included | "Free Artwork, Proofs and Set-Up," per the product pages |
Volume discounts. The product pages list discounts of 15% over 200 pieces and 20% over 400 pieces, and the acrylic plate page adds 10% over 100. Several pages also say "Below 40 Quantity: Add 10%" and that discounts do not apply to PVC plates. Because these sit alongside "no minimum order" and "setup fees may apply," ask your quote to show any discount, small-order charge or setup fee as a separate line.
What changes the price. The company's cost guide names material, size, number of layers, decoration method and quantity as the main drivers. Rush production and expedited shipping add to the total.
Paying. After you approve the proof, the company sends a sales order "with a payment link." The site also has a "Pay My Bill" link. It does not list which payment methods it accepts, so ask if you need to pay by check or purchase order.
Shipping cost. The shipping policy says rates are calculated by weight, size, destination and speed. Separately, the acrylic plate page says ground shipping is free on acrylic plate orders.
How ordering works, step by step
MX Trophies doesn't work like a typical online store where you pick a stock trophy and type engraving into a box. The company describes it as working "the other way round": you tell it what the awards are for, it designs them, and you see a proof before you pay.
- Send the details. Use the full order form, the shorter quick form, the estimate request, email, a phone call or a text to 775-847-0795. Include what the awards are for and the date, each award name or class and how many, the wording, your logo, and where they're going (one address or several).
- Choose a format. Plate awards, semi-custom awards on a standard body, or a fully custom design. The company says it has "options to work with any budget."
- Review the proof. A design proof arrives by email. Check every name, date, class and sponsor mark and ask for changes. Design and the proof are included in the price.
- Approve and pay. Once you approve the artwork, a sales order follows for your review, with a payment link.
- Production. The awards are digitally printed, laser or CNC cut and assembled in the Carson City shop. The shipping policy says production doesn't begin until proofs are approved and payment is received.
- Shipping. The order ships by UPS, FedEx or USPS, and you get a confirmation email with a tracking number.
Reorders are simpler: the company says a semi-custom layout can be reused and updated with new dates, sponsors or classes for the next event.
What artwork to send
The company says most of the back-and-forth on a custom award comes from artwork, not design. Its guidance:
- Send vector files where they exist: AI, EPS, SVG or a vector-based PDF. These scale from a pin to a large plaque without going soft.
- Raster images should be 300 DPI at the size they'll be reproduced. Send the original, not a screenshot or an image passed through a messaging app.
- Get sponsor logos from the sponsor's brand or press kit rather than copying them off a website.
- Spell out the exact text: class names, placings, dates and recipient names.
- Name any brand color that must match exactly.
No logo file? The company says to send whatever you have, "even a photo or a sketch," and it will tell you if it needs something better. Problems are raised on the free proof before anything goes into production.
How long does an order take?
This is the one question we can't answer with a single number from the site. Different pages give different production times, from a few business days to several weeks, so we have not quoted any of them. The company's own advice on its ordering and local pages is the most reliable: tell it the date you need the awards for in your first message, and it will "quote against that date."
What the shipping policy does say:
- Production time is separate from shipping time and starts only after proof approval and payment.
- Rush production "may be available on select items upon request."
- Once shipped, ground delivery is typically 2 to 7 business days and expedited 1 to 3 business days where available, subject to carrier delays.
The company's planning pages also suggest working back from the day the awards need to be in your hands, not the event date, and allowing time for proof changes.
Shipping, returns and terms
- Returns. "Since most of our products are custom-made for you, we do not offer a traditional return policy." If you're unhappy with an order, the company says it is "always willing to work with you on a store credit or replacement product." This is why checking the proof carefully matters.
- Damaged or lost shipments. Contact the company within 48 hours of delivery, with photos of the damaged items and packaging. It says it will work with the carrier to resolve it.
- Shipping charges. Non-refundable once an order has shipped.
- Addresses. You're responsible for a complete, correct shipping address, and changes must be requested before the order ships.
- International. "May be available for select products and destinations"; the customer pays customs duties, taxes and import fees.
- Terms of use. The site's terms include an arbitration clause for disputes through the American Arbitration Association. Read the terms page if this matters to you.
How it compares with other ways to buy awards
| Option | What you get | Typical trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| MX Trophies (manufacturer, custom design) | Awards designed around your logo and classes, free proof, made in-house, plate and semi-custom prices published | No stock catalog to click and buy; timing and some prices need a quote |
| A local trophy shop with a catalog | Stock figures and cups with an engraved plate, often same-week pickup | Less room for custom shapes and full-color event branding |
| A large online award retailer | Shopping cart, stock designs, engraving text box | Design is limited to templates; you may not see a full proof |
| A promotional products reseller | Wide range of branded items from many factories | Awards are one line among many; production is outsourced |
| Glass or crystal award specialist | Etched glass and crystal pieces | Heavier and more fragile to ship; MX Trophies says it does not sell these |
| DIY (print-and-mount or ribbons) | Lowest cash cost | Your time, and a less finished look on the podium |
Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere
A good fit if you…
- Run a race, series or event with many classes and want every award to carry your logo and sponsors
- Want to see a full design proof before paying
- Need one award or a few hundred, since the site says there's no minimum
- Want awards, signage, canopies and pins from one source with matching artwork
- Are in northern Nevada or the Tahoe area and want to talk to the maker in person
- Prefer acrylic, wood or metal awards that ship flat and travel well
Look elsewhere if you…
- Want glass or crystal awards: the company says it doesn't sell them
- Want an item you already own engraved: call first, as its work is building new awards
- Need to click, pay and check out instantly from a catalog with no back-and-forth
- Need a guaranteed production time in writing before you've chosen a design (get the date confirmed in the quote first)
- Want weekend walk-in service: the shop is closed Saturday and Sunday
Questions to ask before you order
- What is the production time for my product and quantity, and does the clock start at order, artwork or proof approval?
- Can you meet my date, and what would rush production or expedited shipping add?
- Does my order carry a setup fee or a small-order charge, and which volume discount applies?
- Is ground shipping included for my items, or calculated separately?
- How many proof revisions are included?
- Can I pick up at the Carson City shop instead of shipping?
- For pins: can you produce fewer than 100?
- For a season or a perpetual trophy: will you keep my design on file so later orders match?
How to get started
- Browse the product range or the gallery of finished orders to pick a format.
- Gather your class or award list, quantities, wording, logo files and the date you need the awards.
- Send it through the estimate request or the order form, or call or text 775-847-0795.
- Review the proof, ask for changes, approve, then pay through the sales order link.
Terms you'll see on the site
- Plate award: a flat acrylic panel cut to shape and printed in full color; also called a plaque award or trophy plate.
- Second-surface printing: printing on the back of clear acrylic so the image is seen through it and protected from scuffs.
- Semi-custom: a standard trophy body (the HD or WB Series) with a custom-printed graphic.
- Fully custom: an award designed from scratch, usually layered from several materials.
- Marine board: the heavy base material on the HD Series.
- Proof: the design image you approve before production starts.
- Perpetual trophy: an award presented again each year, with each winner's name added on a plate.
- Offset, soft enamel, die struck, cloisonne: the four lapel pin processes, from printed full color to polished hard enamel.
- 30 second board: a printed PVC timing and signaling board used at race starts.
- Sunblade: a tall feather-style flag on a ground stake.
- Crazing: fine permanent cracking in acrylic, which the company says ammonia and alcohol cleaners cause.
