Pomoni is an eSEOspace client: we work on its website and search marketing. This guide uses the company's own published information, checked on 19 October 2026, plus one public registry, and every source is listed at the end. We don't rate or score our clients. Prices and lab figures change, so confirm them on pomoni.com before you buy. This guide is not medical advice; talk to a licensed clinician before starting any supplement.

The short answer

Pomoni is an online olive polyphenol brand run by O-Liv LLC in Bettendorf, Iowa, and founded by physician Dr. Peter Matos, D.O., MPH. Until 13 August 2026 it sold under the name O-Liv. It sells two kinds of product: Phenolia capsules (olive oil extract, olive leaf and Greek Mountain Tea; $59 a box one time, or from $45 a box on subscription) and a high-phenolic Greek olive oil ($29 to $75 by bottle size) from early-harvest Koroneiki olives. It publishes dated HPLC lab certificates for its oil. You can reach it at 563-320-0986 or info@pomoni.com, 9 AM to 5 PM Central, Monday to Friday.

What is Pomoni?

Pomoni is a small American supplement and food brand built around one idea: the polyphenols in fresh, early-harvest olive oil, measured and published. It sells online through its own Shopify store. The legal business is O-Liv LLC, which the site says does business as Pomoni and is based in Bettendorf, Iowa.

The name comes from the Greek word υπομονή (ypomoni, pronounced "ee-po-mo-NEE"), which the company translates as "patience." Its tagline is "Prove it, then sell it," and most of the site is built around that: each polyphenol figure it quotes comes with a lab name, a report number and a test date.

The product line is short. There is one oil (in three sizes), two capsule formulas, a bundle that pairs them, and two clearance listings. The company calls the capsule line Phenolia and says more Phenolia formulas are planned. Alongside the store, the site runs a large "Research Journal" blog on olive oil, polyphenols and Greek food culture, plus pages on testing, its founder and its editorial policy.

Pomoni is a dietary supplement and food seller, not a clinic or pharmacy. Its capsule pages carry the standard FDA statement that the claims "have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration" and that the product "is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease."

Is Pomoni the same company as O-Liv?

Yes. The company's own timeline says O-Liv LLC was formed in Iowa in May 2023, launched its first olive polyphenol capsules under the O-Liv name in April 2024, and became Pomoni on 13 August 2026. A press release on GlobeNewswire the same day announced the new name and a new athlete formula. Trade outlets such as Nutritional Outlook and Nutrition Insight covered the change later that month, and the site summarizes that coverage on its press page.

A few traces of the old name remain. The store still lists a "Phenolia Daily, Original O-Liv Bottle (30 Capsules)" at a reduced price, and the Terms of Service still name "O-Liv Olive Oil Supplements" with an info@o-liv.com address. If you bought O-Liv capsules before, Pomoni's Phenolia Daily is the same three-source formula, now sold in a 60-capsule box.

One more naming point: the athlete formula launched in the press as Phenolia Endurance. The site now sells it as Phenolia Recovery and says it was "launched as Phenolia Endurance." They are the same product.

Who owns and runs Pomoni?

The site names Dr. Peter Matos, D.O., MPH as founder. It describes him as a physician double board-certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine (in Occupational & Environmental Medicine, and in Public Health & General Preventive Medicine, 2011), a Fellow of ACOEM and ACPM, and adjunct faculty at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. According to his profile page, he:

  • earned his D.O. from Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2006 and an MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2008;
  • completed residencies in General Preventive Medicine (Walter Reed Army Institute of Research) and Occupational & Environmental Medicine (USUHS);
  • served as a US Army Major and Command Surgeon at Joint Munitions Command, Rock Island Arsenal, from 2010 to 2014;
  • has run Traekos Health in Bettendorf since 2015, a business the site describes as offering independent medical exams, expert medical review and occupational and wellness telemedicine;
  • holds active medical licenses in 25 US jurisdictions with no state medical board actions, according to the page.

His profile is unusually frank about one thing: it says his peer-reviewed research is in occupational, preventive and military medicine, and "None of it is about olive polyphenols." It also includes his own account of taking Phenolia daily, labeled as "my own experience, not a study result."

The site names no other staff. The contact page says questions about health or medications go to Dr. Matos.

Is Pomoni legit? What can be checked

People ask this about most supplement brands, and it's a fair question. Here is what can be checked from public information:

  • A named legal entity and founder. The footer of every page names O-Liv LLC, doing business as Pomoni, in Bettendorf, Iowa, and the founder is named with his credentials.
  • The founder's NPI record. The site gives his National Provider Identifier as 1699824623. We looked it up in the federal NPI Registry on 19 October 2026: it shows an active record for Dr. Peter G. Matos, D.O., with a primary taxonomy of Preventive Medicine, Occupational Medicine, in Iowa. An NPI shows that a provider is registered; it is not a license check. The site links to FSMB DocInfo for license details, which we did not check.
  • Published lab certificates. The Testing & Certifications page lists each oil result with the lab, report number and date, and offers PDF downloads. Some documents are marked "PDF to be added" (details below).
  • A stated commercial relationship. The editorial policy says one of its two oil-testing labs, PharmaGnose, also makes its capsule extracts, and calls that a commercial relationship with no ownership link. The other lab, Modern Olives in California, is described as unconnected to its suppliers.
  • Press coverage. The press page lists a GlobeNewswire release and articles in Nutritional Outlook, Nutrition Insight, Vitamin Rush and Trend Hunter (all August 2026), plus podcast and magazine appearances by Dr. Matos.
  • Its own reviews. The site shows 5.0 stars from 10 reviews on Phenolia Daily and 13 reviews on the olive oil. These are collected and displayed by the store itself. Its editorial policy says it holds back reviews that mention cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar or a named condition.

The formation date above is the company's own figure. The business is young (capsules since 2024), so there is not much independent review history yet.

The site's FAQ page still says subscriptions and bundles are "rolling out," but both were live on the product pages when we checked.

Phenolia Daily, in detail

Phenolia Daily is the main product. The company calls it "the only daily formula we know of" combining high-phenolic olive oil, olive leaf and Greek Mountain Tea, three sources it says give a broader polyphenol panel than any one of them alone.

  • Serving: 2 capsules daily, with a meal. A box is 60 capsules, 30 servings, so one box lasts a month at the label serving.
  • What's in it (Supplement Facts): a 12 mg "Mediterranean Polyphenol Blend" of high-purity Mediterranean olive oil (listing oleocanthal, oleacein, oleuropein aglycon, ligstroside aglycon, tyrosol and hydroxytyrosol), olive leaf (Olea europaea) extract and Sideritis scardica (Greek Mountain Tea, aerial parts). No Daily Value is established.
  • Other ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, arabic gum, and a hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (plant) capsule shell.
  • Polyphenol content: 6 mg of olive polyphenols per capsule, 12 mg per serving, which the company says is calculated from the extract's certificate of analysis. It compares that with about 1.5 tablespoons (20 g) of a 600 mg/kg oil.
  • Diet labels: the site says vegan, non-GMO, zero calories, and no dyes or artificial colors.
  • Made by: Doctors Labs in Greece, with final packaging in Bettendorf, Iowa (see where it's made).

The product page frames the benefits as "support" statements (recovery from training, a balanced inflammatory response, heart health, healthy aging) with the FDA disclaimer next to them. The one specific health claim it cites is the European Union's authorized claim that olive polyphenols contribute to the protection of blood lipids from oxidative stress (EU Regulation 432/2012). We don't repeat or assess the benefit claims here. The page's own FAQ says most people give it 8 to 12 weeks of daily use before judging it.

Phenolia Recovery, in detail

Phenolia Recovery launched in August 2026 (the timeline says 24 August; the press release was 13 August). It takes the same three-source Phenolia base and adds Greek beetroot extract, which the site describes as "a traditional source of dietary nitrates."

  • Serving: 2 capsules daily, with a meal; 60 capsules per box.
  • Supplement Facts: a 12 mg "Mediterranean Polyphenol & Beetroot Blend" with the same olive oil, olive leaf and Greek Mountain Tea ingredients plus Beta vulgaris (beetroot) root extract. Other ingredients match Phenolia Daily.
  • How it's meant to be used: the company says it is designed to "layer on top of Phenolia Daily during heavier training or race blocks, not replace it."
  • Testing: the page says its extract lot carries a PharmaGnose certificate of analysis and the capsule powder was tested for heavy metals and pesticides.
  • Extra caution: because of the beetroot, the page adds that people taking nitrate heart medication or a PDE-5 inhibitor should check with a doctor first.

Pomoni High-Phenolic Olive Oil, in detail

The oil is an extra virgin olive oil from early-harvest Koroneiki olives, which the company says come from a single grove in Ariochori, Messinia, Greece, picked in early October and cold-extracted at 23 °C. The current bottles are from the 2025 harvest.

  • Published polyphenols: 635 mg/kg by HPLC (Modern Olives, California, July 2026) and 612 mg/kg by HPLC (PharmaGnose, Greece, February 2026), both for the 2025 harvest.
  • Taste: the company describes a green nose of fresh-cut grass, raw artichoke and green almond, with a strong peppery finish at the back of the throat, which it attributes to oleocanthal.
  • How it suggests using it: raw. Finish dishes, dress salads, or take a tablespoon straight; it suggests using an everyday oil for frying because heat reduces polyphenols. The 100 ml size is a sprayer for the table.
  • Freshness: the company says every bottle carries its harvest date and batch number, and recommends using the oil within 90 days, kept dark, cool and sealed.

The site is open about decline over time: its 2024-harvest oil tested 735 mg/kg in May 2025 and 347 mg/kg in October 2025. That is why it dates each figure rather than printing one number forever.

Not published: the site does not list accepted payment methods outside the checkout, and it does not publish wholesale or practitioner pricing. Ask by email if you need either. There is no insurance billing; this is a retail supplement and food purchase.

How the subscriptions work

  1. Pick a delivery option on the Phenolia Daily or Phenolia Recovery page: one time, every month (one box), or the "90 Day Recovery Protocol" (three boxes every quarter, billed quarterly).
  2. Check out. Subscription orders ship free within the US, according to the product pages.
  3. Manage it from your account. The site says you can "Skip a delivery, change your cadence, or cancel in a few clicks from your account," with no phone call needed.

The site does not state a minimum number of deliveries. If you want to be sure, ask before you subscribe.

How Pomoni tests its products

Testing is the center of Pomoni's pitch. Here is what its Testing & Certifications page lists.

The oil, by harvest (all HPLC):

HarvestTestedLaboratoryReportTotal polyphenols
2025 (October)July 2026Modern Olives, CaliforniaUS 26/453635 mg/kg
2025 (October)February 2026PharmaGnose, GreecePGRT1580612 mg/kg
2024 (October)October 2025Modern Olives, CaliforniaUS 25/403347 mg/kg
2024 (October)May 2025University of AthensOLE_1819735 mg/kg

The page also gives the compound-by-compound panel for the 2025 harvest, for example oleocanthal at 111.9 mg/kg (Modern Olives) and 243.5 mg/kg (PharmaGnose), and says both results exceed the EU health-claim threshold of 5 mg of hydroxytyrosol and its derivatives per 20 g of oil.

The labs it names: Modern Olives (California; described as ISO/IEC 17025 accredited), PharmaGnose S.A. (Greece; described as a 2013 spin-off of the University of Athens, and also the maker of Pomoni's capsule extracts), the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2024 harvest), IEH Analytical Laboratories in Seattle (heavy metals in the capsule powder) and EMA in Woodland, California (pesticides in the capsule powder). The company says it pays for every test and owns none of the labs.

The capsules: the page is clear that the capsules are checked differently from the oil. Their polyphenol content is calculated from the extract's certificate of analysis (PharmaGnose, July 2026 lots); heavy metals and pesticides were tested on the capsule powder in August 2026; the extract lots have microbiology results listed. It says "Finished-capsule HPLC testing of Phenolia Daily and Phenolia Recovery is under way" and that results will be posted when issued. It also says Phenolia is screened for banned substances by LGC.

What's still missing: in the certificate library, the University of Athens report and both Phenolia extract certificates were marked "PDF to be added" when we checked. If a certificate matters to your decision, ask for it by email.

HPLC vs NMR: why the numbers differ

Shoppers comparing high-phenolic oils often see very different polyphenol numbers. Pomoni has a page on why. In short, HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography) separates and measures each polyphenol directly, and the company says it is the method recognized by the International Olive Council (method COI/T.20/Doc 29). NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) estimates a total from spectra and, the company says, can read two to three times higher for the same oil.

It uses its own oil as the example: the 2024 harvest read 1,713 mg/kg by NMR at the grove in November 2024, and 735 mg/kg by HPLC six months later. Pomoni says it quotes HPLC figures only and keeps earlier NMR reports on file. Whatever brand you buy from, the useful questions are the same: which method, which lab, and what date.

Where the olives and capsules come from

  • Olives: early-harvest Koroneiki from a single grove in Ariochori, Messinia, Greece, cold-extracted and bottled on site, according to the testing page. The company's first harvest from its partner grove was October 2024.
  • Extracts: the powdered olive oil, olive leaf extract and Greek Mountain Tea are all extracted in Greece by PharmaGnose, the site says; Recovery adds beetroot extract.
  • Capsule maker: Doctors Labs in Greece, which the site describes as a GMP facility licensed by Greece's National Organization for Medicines (EOF), certified to ISO 22000:2018 by TÜV Austria (valid to 14 July 2027), and registered with the US FDA as a food facility.
  • Packing and shipping: final packaging in Bettendorf, Iowa; orders ship from the US.

Who should check with a doctor first

Pomoni's product pages list who should talk to a doctor or pharmacist before taking Phenolia. We repeat the list as published, because it is the most useful safety information on the site:

  • People taking blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs (the site says olive polyphenols have mild antiplatelet effects).
  • People taking blood pressure or blood sugar medication (the site says olive leaf extract has lowered both in trials).
  • Anyone pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Anyone with surgery scheduled (the site says stop two weeks before).
  • Anyone with an olive or olive-pollen allergy.
  • For Phenolia Recovery only: people taking nitrate heart medication or a PDE-5 inhibitor.

The products are not intended for children. This guide is not medical advice; talk to a licensed clinician about your own medications and health.

Shipping, returns and policies

  • Shipping cost. The Shipping Policy page says only "Shipping is free at this time!" The product pages say free US shipping on every subscription, and the oil and bundle pages say free US shipping on orders over $100. Check the total at checkout for a small one-time order.
  • Shipping time. The Phenolia Recovery page says one-time orders ship within 1 to 2 business days. You get a tracking number by email when the order ships.
  • Where it ships. The site describes shipping from and within the US. It does not publish international shipping terms.
  • Returns. The Refund Policy asks you to inspect your order and contact the company right away if an item is defective, damaged or wrong. It says perishable goods such as food, personal care goods, sale items and gift cards can't be returned. It does not state a return window or a satisfaction guarantee for unopened products, so ask before you buy if that matters.
  • Subscriptions. Pause, skip or cancel from your account, per the product pages.
  • Health content. The editorial policy says every health article is approved by Dr. Matos, who grades evidence from A (strong) to D (background only), and that the company corrects errors reported to info@pomoni.com.

Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere

A good fit if you…

  • Want an olive polyphenol product where the lab, method and test date are published
  • Prefer a capsule to drinking oil, or want a raw finishing oil with a strong peppery taste
  • Want a vegan, non-GMO capsule from a small, founder-led brand
  • Train regularly and are interested in a formula built for training blocks (Recovery)
  • Like being able to pause or cancel a subscription online

Look elsewhere if you…

  • Want finished-capsule HPLC results before you buy: the company says these are still under way
  • Need a product to treat a medical condition: supplements are not a treatment
  • Take blood thinners, blood pressure or blood sugar drugs, or (for Recovery) nitrates or PDE-5 inhibitors, and haven't spoken to your doctor
  • Want a cheap everyday cooking oil: this oil is priced and meant for raw use
  • Need a clear return window for opened food or supplement products
  • Live outside the US: international shipping isn't published

Questions to ask before you buy

  1. Are the finished-capsule HPLC results for my lot published yet, and can you send the extract certificate?
  2. What is the harvest date on the oil bottle you'll ship me, and when was that harvest last tested?
  3. Will my one-time order ship free, or only orders over $100?
  4. Can I return an unopened product, and within how many days?
  5. Is there a minimum number of subscription deliveries?
  6. How do Phenolia Daily and Phenolia Recovery differ, and do I need both?
  7. What size is the "Harvest 2025 Final Bottles" clearance listing?

How to get started

  1. Read the Testing & Certifications page and download the certificates that matter to you.
  2. Check the "who should check with a doctor first" list on the product page, and talk to your clinician if any of it applies.
  3. Choose a product: Phenolia Daily, Phenolia Recovery, the olive oil or the Daily Duo.
  4. Pick one time or a subscription, then check out.
  5. Questions? Call 563-320-0986 or email info@pomoni.com, 9 AM to 5 PM Central, Monday to Friday. The contact page says a person replies within one business day.
