Proof Cannabis website home page

Proof Cannabis is an eSEOspace client: we work on its website and search marketing. This guide uses the company's own published information, checked on 19 October 2026, plus California cannabis license records, and every source is listed at the end. We don't rate or score our clients. Products and labels change, so confirm details on proofcannabis.com or with a licensed dispensary before you buy. This guide is for adults 21 and over in California. It is not medical advice: talk to a licensed clinician about cannabis and your health.

The short answer

Proof (Proof Cannabis, operated by Proof Operations, Inc.) is a licensed California cannabis manufacturer and distributor based in Santa Rosa, in Sonoma County. Founded in 2016 and led by co-founder and CEO Julie Mercer-Ingram, it makes THC and CBD tinctures (drops), capsules, topicals and Full Spectrum Oil (RSO), labeled by potency from CBD-only to 100 mg THC per capsule. Proof does not sell its cannabis products online: under California law they are sold only by licensed dispensaries, in store or by delivery, to adults 21 and over in California. Retail prices are set by each dispensary and are not published on the site. You can find stockists with its Store Locator and reach the company at 707-757-9984 or info@proofextracts.com.

What is Proof Cannabis?

Proof is a California cannabis brand that makes non-smoked products: oil drops (tinctures), capsules, topical roll-ons and balm, an oil-based intimacy product, and a minimally refined whole-plant oil it calls Full Spectrum Oil, also known as RSO. The legal company behind it is Proof Operations, Inc., and the site's footer lists two state license numbers: DCC-10001196 and C11-0000046-LIC.

The company describes itself as a "licensed cannabis manufacturer and distributor." That matters for how you buy it. Proof makes the products and moves them to stores, but it is not a retailer. Its terms say it "is not authorized to ship any cannabis products or sell any cannabis products" directly, and its privacy policy says everything shown on the site "is available only through licensed dispensaries or delivery partners in California."

According to its About page, Proof was founded in 2016 and works with local farmers to source the cannabis it uses. The company says it focuses on what it calls "exotic" or minor cannabinoids, such as CBN, CBG and THCV, alongside the better-known THC and CBD, and that its mission is to make quality products "with a commitment to compassionate pricing." It also describes itself as women-owned and women-operated.

The website itself is informational. It has an age gate (you must confirm you are 21 or older to enter), product pages, a Store Locator and a Product Locator for finding dispensaries, an FAQ, a blog, recipe pages, and a contact form.

Who owns and runs Proof?

The About page names three leaders:

  • Julie Mercer-Ingram, CEO. The company describes her as a former cannabis attorney and Creative Director. A 2022 post on the Proof blog says she is a co-founder, served as General Counsel and Creative Director after the company was founded in 2016, and became CEO in April 2022. The same post says she helped move Proof "from a medical collective to a corporation."
  • Sarah Miletich, COO. The company says she oversees organization and makes sure products meet its quality standards and are available to customers.
  • Sara Peña, Director of Operations. According to the site, she oversees the distribution and manufacturing teams and day-to-day operations.

Proof says women make up 80% of its executive team. Its 2022 CEO announcement adds that more than 70% of total staff at that time were women or non-binary people, and describes the company as bootstrapped, with no outside growth capital. Those are the company's own statements.

The state license records for Proof Operations, Inc. list Julie Mercer-Ingram and Sarah Miletich among the license owners, which matches the leadership named on the site.

Is Proof a licensed, legitimate company?

For a cannabis brand, the most useful thing to check is the state license, because only licensed businesses can make or distribute cannabis legally in California. Here is what we checked on 19 October 2026:

  • Two active state licenses. California Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) data, as republished by a public license-search site and refreshed on 16 September 2026, shows DCC-10001196 as an active Manufacturer (Type 6) license and C11-0000046-LIC as an active Commercial Distributor license, both held by Proof Operations, Inc. in Sonoma County. The manufacturer license was first issued on 21 November 2018 and the distributor license on 6 May 2019. Both are annual licenses that renew. You can confirm them yourself on the DCC's official license search (link in Sources).
  • The license numbers match the website. The same two numbers appear in the footer of every page on proofcannabis.com.
  • A named leadership team. The About page names the CEO, COO and Director of Operations.
  • Published contact details. The privacy policy gives a Santa Rosa, California 95407 location, a phone number (707-757-9984) and an email address (info@proofextracts.com).
  • State-mandated testing. As with all licensed California cannabis, every batch must pass a state compliance test before it can be sold, and the company offers a Certificate of Analysis (COA) on request (see testing).

One more practical check: buy only from a licensed dispensary. The DCC license search covers retailers too, so you can confirm the store as well as the brand.

Where can you buy Proof, and can you order it online?

You cannot buy Proof's cannabis products directly from Proof, online or in person. The site's FAQ explains why: "state law prohibits Proof from selling our cannabis products direct to consumers online." It adds that California law requires cannabis products to be sold only by licensed retailers (dispensaries), "limited to in-person storefront and delivery transactions within the state of California," and that "cannabis cannot legally be shipped in the mail."

What that means in practice:

  • California only. Proof's cannabis products are available only inside California.
  • Adults 21 and over. The site, its terms and its privacy policy all restrict use to adults 21 or older.
  • Through a dispensary. You buy at a licensed dispensary's storefront, or through a licensed dispensary's delivery service. The FAQ notes that "many cannabis dispensaries do offer online shopping and delivery," so ordering online from a dispensary that stocks Proof is possible.

The site has two tools for finding stock:

  • Store Locator (proofcannabis.com/locationsproof): a map of California stores that carry Proof. If nothing shows up, the site suggests zooming out and choosing "Redo Search in this area."
  • Product Locator (proofcannabis.com/product-locator): search for a specific Proof product near you. If it comes up empty, the site suggests switching to the Store Locator.

Each product page also has a "Find Near Me" button that takes you to one of these locators. Stock varies by store, so call the dispensary to confirm a specific product is on the shelf before you make the trip.

What Proof makes: the product range

Proof's catalog, as listed on the site on 19 October 2026, falls into five formats:

FormatWhat it isHow many products listed
Tinctures (drops)Cannabis oil in MCT oil, in a dropper bottle; the site says they can be taken as is or added to food and drinks9 (including a CBD-only drop)
CapsulesVegan capsules filled with cannabis oil in coconut oil6
TopicalsTwo roll-ons and a balm for use on the skin3
Intimacy oilAn oil-based cannabis lubricant1
Full Spectrum Oil (RSO)Minimally refined whole-plant oil in a 1 gram applicator, potency varies by batch4 types
Pet dropsA THC-free CBD drop made for pets1

The site lets you browse in three ways: by format (Capsules, Tinctures, Topicals, Full Spectrum Oil, Pet CBD), by potency level (CBD Only, CBD Rich, Medium, High, Topicals), and by the effect categories the company uses for navigation (Sleep, Relax, Uplift, Intimacy, Soothing Topicals). Product pages describe "anticipated effects." The site's own footer is clear that "cannabis affects everyone differently," that those descriptions are "for informational purposes only and may vary by individual," and that its products "are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease." We don't repeat effect descriptions in this guide.

Tinctures (drops), one by one

All Proof tinctures list two ingredients: MCT oil and cannabis oil. The totals below are the amounts per bottle as printed on the product pages. Per-serving amounts are on each product's label and page.

ProductCannabinoids per bottleSite's potency group
CBD Only Drops1,000 mg CBD, no THCCBD Only
20:1 High CBD Drops300 mg CBD + 15 mg THCCBD Rich (low THC)
10:1 Microdose Drops ("The Perfect Microdose")300 mg CBD + 30 mg THCCBD Rich (low THC)
V Drops150 mg THCV + 150 mg CBG + 150 mg THCMedium
CBG Elixir Drops150 mg CBG + 150 mg CBD + 150 mg THCMedium
CBN Sleepy Drops150 mg CBN + 150 mg THCMedium
1:1 Balanced Drops300 mg CBD + 300 mg THCMedium
High THC Drops1,000 mg THCHigh
Bazillion Drops1,000 mg CBD + 1,000 mg THCHigh

A few notes from the product pages:

  • Ratios. Names such as 20:1, 10:1 and 1:1 describe the ratio of CBD to THC. A 20:1 product has twenty parts CBD for every part THC.
  • Minor cannabinoids. Three drops pair THC with a less common cannabinoid: CBN (Sleepy Drops), CBG (Elixir Drops) and THCV with CBG (V Drops). The CBG Elixir page notes that CBG is sometimes called the "mother cannabinoid" because of its role in how the plant makes other cannabinoids.
  • High-strength drops. The site says High THC Drops and Bazillion Drops are "intended for high tolerance consumers."
  • Use in food and drinks. The tincture pages say the drops can be added to food and drinks, and the site has recipe and cannabis cocktail pages built around them. The cocktails page notes that Proof tinctures contain only cannabis oil and MCT oil, so they are easy to cook with.

Capsules, one by one

Each capsule holds a fixed amount of cannabinoids, which the site describes as "a reliable and precise way to enjoy cannabis." The capsule list page gives coconut oil and cannabis oil as the ingredients.

ProductPer capsulePer bottleSite's potency group
CBD Only Capsules33 mg CBD, no THC1,000 mg CBDCBD Only
20:1 High CBD Capsules10 mg CBD + 0.5 mg THC300 mg CBD + 15 mg THCCBD Rich
1:1 Balanced Capsules10 mg CBD + 10 mg THC300 mg CBD + 300 mg THCMedium
High THC Capsules33 mg THC1,000 mg THCHigh
Bazillion Capsules33 mg CBD + 33 mg THC1,000 mg CBD + 1,000 mg THCHigh
Tsunami Capsules100 mg THC1,000 mg THC (10 capsules)High

The site carries strong cautions on its highest-strength capsules. The High THC Capsules and Tsunami Capsules pages both say "VERY INTOXICATING" and that they are intended only for experienced consumers. The capsule list describes Tsunami's 100 mg THC per capsule as the "highest potency per dose allowable by state law." If you are new to cannabis, these are not the place to start; ask a budtender or your clinician.

The FAQ notes that capsules are made to be solid at room temperature, but can turn liquid and leak if they get warm (for example in a car or bag), so the company recommends keeping them in a cool, dry place.

Topicals and the intimacy oil

Proof lists three topicals, each with 1,000 mg THC and 1,000 mg CBD. The site describes them as vegan, gluten free, cruelty free and paraben free.

ProductFormatWhat sets it apart (per the site)Key ingredients listed
Ice Hot Roll-OnRoll-on, "no-mess applicator"Cooling and warming sensation, with mentholJojoba, rosehip and cannabis oils, arnica oil, menthol crystals, peppermint, copaiba balsam, eucalyptus, clove bud and camphor essential oils
Deep Calm Roll-OnRoll-onNon-mentholatedJojoba, rosehip and cannabis oils, arnica oil, copaiba balsam, grapefruit and frankincense essential oils, bitter almond fragrance oil
Ice Hot BalmBalm "made for targeted application"Cooling and warming, in a balm instead of a roll-onJojoba and coconut oils, candelilla wax, cannabis oil, arnica oil, menthol crystals, peppermint, eucalyptus, clove bud, copaiba balsam and camphor essential oils

The full ingredient lists are on the Topicals and Soothing Topicals pages. If you have allergies or sensitive skin, read them before you buy: the menthol versions also contain camphor and several essential oils.

Cannabis Intimacy Oil. Proof also makes an oil-based cannabis lubricant with 300 mg CBD and 300 mg THC per bottle. Its ingredients are grapeseed oil, sunflower oil, MCT (coconut) oil, cannabis oil and vitamin E. The site warns, in capitals, that it is not compatible with latex (including latex condoms), because it is oil-based. If you rely on latex condoms, this product is not a match. Questions about using it should go to your clinician.

Full Spectrum Oil (RSO)

Proof's Full Spectrum Oil (FSO), which the site says is "also commonly known as RSO," is a minimally refined cannabis extract that keeps the plant's naturally occurring terpenes, flavonoids and other compounds. That is different from Proof's tinctures, capsules and topicals, which the FAQ says are made from refined cannabis oil with those compounds removed.

  • Four types: Indica RSO, Sativa RSO, CBD RSO and 1:1 Balanced RSO.
  • Strain specific. Unlike the rest of the range, FSO is labeled with the dominant strain, and the FAQ says the label also shows the batch's top three terpenes.
  • Potency varies by batch. The site says the cannabinoid amounts change from batch to batch and are printed on the front label.
  • Packaging: an "easy to use 1 gram applicator."
  • Ingredients: "pure full spectrum cannabis oil."
  • Use: the site says RSO "can be ingested orally, added to food, or used topically," and links a blog post on how it works.

The pet product

Proof lists a CBD drop "made specifically with pets in mind." The pet page describes it as THC-free, with MCT oil and cannabis oil as the only ingredients, and links to the Store Locator to find it in California dispensaries.

A February 2026 post on the Proof blog, written for retailers, explains the background: according to the company, pet-specific cannabis products were not allowed in licensed California dispensaries until DCC regulations changed on 1 January 2026, and a compliant "Animal Product" must contain no more than 1 mg of THC per container. The post says Proof released its Pet Drops in March 2026. Talk to your veterinarian before giving any cannabis product to an animal.

How Proof labels potency

Proof puts a potency icon it calls the "High-O-Meter" on the front of every product. The site says it shows the THC level "to help consumers understand the expected effect of THC in each product." The site groups products into these levels:

LevelTHC per serving (site's definition)Examples
CBD OnlyNo THCCBD Only Drops, CBD Only Capsules
CBD Rich1 to 4 mg20:1 High CBD Drops and Capsules, 10:1 Microdose Drops
Medium5 to 10 mgV Drops, CBG Elixir, CBN Sleepy Drops, 1:1 Balanced Drops and Capsules
High33 mg or more (the home page says 30 to 100 mg)High THC Drops and Capsules, Bazillion Drops and Capsules, Tsunami Capsules
TopicalsPotency variesIce Hot Roll-On, Deep Calm Roll-On, Ice Hot Balm

The site lists Full Spectrum Oil under both Medium (the high-CBD version) and High, because its potency changes from batch to batch. The label on the product in your hand is the final word on how much THC and CBD it contains.

Proof's FAQ says the company does not tell people how much to take, because tolerance varies widely from person to person. This guide does not give dosing guidance either. If you have questions about how cannabis may interact with your health or medications, the site's own advice is to consult a healthcare professional.

How much does Proof cost?

Proof does not publish retail prices for its cannabis products. Because Proof is a manufacturer and distributor, not a store, each licensed dispensary sets its own shelf price, and prices can differ from one store or delivery service to the next. California cannabis taxes are added at the register.

What the company does say about price:

  • Its About page describes its mission as quality products "with a commitment to compassionate pricing."
  • Its 2022 CEO announcement said the new CEO's first change was to reduce prices across the menu. That was a 2022 statement; it is not a current price list.

How to find a price: use the Product Locator to find a dispensary that stocks the product you want, then check that dispensary's online menu or call it. When you compare prices, compare the total milligrams on the label, not only the bottle price, since Proof sells the same format at very different strengths. Proof does not publish insurance, financing or payment details; payment is handled by the dispensary.

Ingredients, carrier oils and dietary details

Proof's ingredient lists are short. From the product pages and FAQ:

  • Tinctures: MCT oil and cannabis oil. The FAQ says Proof's MCT oil is always coconut-derived, never from palm kernels.
  • Capsules: coconut oil and cannabis oil inside a vegetable capsule. The FAQ says the capsule shell has two ingredients, HPMC (hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, from plant cellulose) and water, with no gelatin, wheat, gluten, starch or preservatives.
  • Vegan. The FAQ says all Proof products, including the capsules, are made without animal by-products. Product pages also list them as gluten free, sugar free and cruelty free.
  • Not "organic." The FAQ explains that California law does not allow cannabis to be labeled organic. The company says it uses only cannabis grown without pesticides, and that its products pass the state's pesticide testing.
  • Not strain-specific (except FSO). The FAQ says the tinctures, capsules and topicals use highly refined cannabis oil that removes terpenes, the compounds that define a strain, so they are not labeled indica or sativa. The company says this is on purpose, to keep batches consistent. If you want a strain-specific product, the site points to its FSO.
  • Color can vary. The FAQ says the yellow to gold color of a product can change from batch to batch, and that CBD-rich oil is usually lighter than THC-rich oil.

How Proof products are tested

All licensed cannabis in California must pass a state compliance test before it can be sold. Proof's "Tested Clean" page says that, by law, every batch must be verified for potency and screened for contaminants such as heavy metals, pesticides and residual solvents. A Proof blog post on California testing lists the full set of compliance test categories:

  • Potency
  • Residual solvents
  • Microbials
  • Heavy metals
  • Pesticides
  • Mycotoxins
  • Foreign materials

According to that post, a licensed lab, not the brand, collects the sample from the finished product at a licensed distributor. A product must pass every category to be sold, and failed batches may not reach consumers.

On top of the state test, Proof says it tests every batch it produces and also tests "every other ingredient that enters our facility." The FAQ adds that products are tested multiple times during manufacturing.

Getting a Certificate of Analysis (COA). Proof says that if you want a COA for any Proof product, you can fill out the contact form and it will send one within 1 to 3 business days. Have the product name and batch details from your package ready when you ask.

Child-resistant packaging and storage

Proof's products come in child-resistant (CR) packaging, which the FAQ says is required. The company acknowledges the caps "can sometimes make them tricky to open," and gives these instructions:

  • Drops and capsules: push down on the cap while turning.
  • Mylar bags and shrink-wrapped topicals: cut the packaging with scissors.

An October 2025 post on the Proof blog, with a video, shows another way to open a drops bottle for people who struggle with the cap: slide a butter knife or other flat, dull object between the upper and lower parts of the cap and gently pry around it until the top pops loose. After that the bottle opens normally. Keep any opened bottle out of reach of children and pets.

For storage, the FAQ recommends keeping capsules in a cool, dry place so they stay solid.

How Proof compares with other options

Proof makes measured, non-smoked products sold through dispensaries. Here is how that format compares with other common ways adults buy cannabis in California, in general terms:

OptionWhat it's likeTrade-offs
Proof tinctures and capsulesFixed, labeled cannabinoid amounts, a range of CBD to THC ratios, minor cannabinoids (CBN, CBG, THCV); no smoke or vaporOnly through California dispensaries; no direct online ordering; prices vary by store
Flower or vape productsInhaled; strain-specificInvolves smoke or vapor; amount per use is less precise than a measured capsule
Retail edibles (gummies, chocolates)Pre-portioned; the Proof site notes California caps edibles at 10 mg THC per servingUsually contain sugar and other ingredients; fixed flavors
Full spectrum oils from any brandWhole-plant extract with terpenes, strain-labeledPotency varies by batch; strong taste
THC-free hemp CBD productsSold more widely, including online and across state linesNo THC; regulated differently from licensed cannabis

Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere

A good fit if you…

  • Are 21 or older and in California
  • Want non-smoked cannabis with the amount of each cannabinoid printed on the label
  • Are looking for specific CBD to THC ratios, or for products with CBN, CBG or THCV
  • Prefer vegan, sugar-free and gluten-free products with short ingredient lists
  • Want to add drops to your own food or drinks
  • Like being able to request a Certificate of Analysis from the maker

Look elsewhere if you…

  • Are under 21, or live outside California (Proof's cannabis products are not sold or shipped outside the state)
  • Want to order THC products straight from the brand and have them mailed
  • Want to know the retail price before you contact a store
  • Want strain-specific tinctures or capsules (only the FSO is strain-labeled)
  • Need a lubricant that is safe with latex condoms
  • Are looking for medical treatment; talk to a licensed clinician first

Questions to ask before you buy

  • Ask the dispensary: Do you have this exact Proof product in stock today? What is the shelf price, and what are the taxes?
  • Do you deliver to my address, and what are the minimum order and delivery hours?
  • What does the label say? Check the total THC and CBD per package and per serving, and where the potency icon (High-O-Meter) sits.
  • For FSO: What is this batch's potency and dominant strain?
  • Ask Proof: Can you send the Certificate of Analysis for this batch?
  • Ask your clinician: Is cannabis right for me, given my health conditions and medications? Proof's privacy policy specifically advises consulting a physician if you have a medical condition, take prescription medications, or are pregnant or nursing.

Frequently asked questions

What is Proof Cannabis?

Proof is a licensed California cannabis manufacturer and distributor based in Santa Rosa, operated by Proof Operations, Inc. It makes THC and CBD tinctures, capsules, topicals, an intimacy oil and Full Spectrum Oil (RSO), sold through licensed California dispensaries.

Can I buy Proof cannabis products online?

Not from Proof. California law bars Proof from selling cannabis directly to consumers or shipping it, so its products are sold only by licensed dispensaries, in store or through their delivery services, and many dispensaries take online orders for delivery.

Where can I find Proof near me?

Use the Store Locator or Product Locator on proofcannabis.com, which map California dispensaries that carry Proof. If nothing appears, the site suggests zooming out and choosing "Redo Search in this area."

Is Proof Cannabis available outside California?

No. Proof's cannabis products are sold only within California, to adults 21 and over, because cannabis cannot legally cross state lines or be mailed.

Is Proof Cannabis licensed?

Yes. California Department of Cannabis Control data shows Proof Operations, Inc. holding an active manufacturer license (DCC-10001196) and an active distributor license (C11-0000046-LIC), the same numbers printed on its website.

Who owns Proof Cannabis?

Proof is run by co-founder and CEO Julie Mercer-Ingram, a former cannabis attorney, with COO Sarah Miletich and Director of Operations Sara Peña. The company describes itself as women-owned and women-operated.

How much do Proof products cost?

Proof does not publish retail prices. Each licensed dispensary sets its own price, so check a stocking store's menu or call it, and compare total milligrams on the label.

What is the strongest Proof product?

Proof's Tsunami Capsules contain 100 mg THC per capsule and 1,000 mg per package. The site labels them "very intoxicating" and intended only for experienced, high-tolerance consumers.

Does Proof make CBD-only products with no THC?

Yes. Proof lists CBD Only Drops and CBD Only Capsules (1,000 mg CBD per package, no THC) and a THC-free CBD pet drop, available through California dispensaries.

Are Proof products vegan?

Yes, according to the company. Its FAQ says all Proof products are made without animal by-products, and its capsule shells are plant-based HPMC with no gelatin.

Are Proof tinctures indica or sativa?

Neither. Proof says its tinctures, capsules and topicals use refined oil with terpenes removed, so they are not strain-specific. Only its Full Spectrum Oil (RSO) is labeled by strain.

How are Proof products tested?

Every batch must pass California's compliance test for potency, residual solvents, microbials, heavy metals, pesticides, mycotoxins and foreign materials. Proof says it also tests every ingredient entering its facility and tests products several times during manufacturing.

How do I get a lab report (COA) for a Proof product?

Fill out the contact form on proofcannabis.com. Proof says it will send the Certificate of Analysis within 1 to 3 business days.

How do I open a Proof drops bottle?
