What APIMatic offers for MCP
Curated tools, not endpoint copies
The Enterprise MCP Platform page says tools "are designed around tasks, not mapped one-to-one from endpoints." You can "combine endpoints into one tool," so an agent makes one call instead of several. You also choose what to hide; the page's example shows a delete endpoint marked "not exposed."
The page compares this with what it calls a "typical generator." APIMatic says it maps audiences and tool sets across several API specs, and curates names, descriptions and input schemas. Our guide to MCP tool design explains why task-shaped tools tend to work better for agents.
Tests, skills and feedback
The page lists more parts of the lifecycle:
- Tests. Checks run on every tool and workflow and rerun "whenever your API changes."
- Skills. Files that "teach agents your domain, your workflows, and when to use each tool."
- Usage data. Customer feedback and usage show "which tools to fix, combine, or remove."
Deployment and sign-in
APIMatic says agents can sign in "with API keys, or with OAuth 2.1 through your identity provider." The page shows PKCE, a standard OAuth safeguard. You package the server "as a Docker image or Node.js app, and run it in your own cloud." On-premises is also shown.
APIMatic says the same OpenAPI source builds "MCP servers, SDKs, docs, and portals." It also lists implementation, deployment and publishing support as part of the service.
Separately, APIMatic sells Context Plugins, which give coding agents context about an API. That page does not describe them as MCP servers, so treat them as a different product.
Who it's for
The platform targets API providers whose customers want to "run real business tasks from ChatGPT, Claude, or their own AI apps." It fits companies with several APIs and enough customer demand to justify curating tools rather than generating one tool per endpoint.

Pricing
The MCP page offers two buttons: "Apply for the private beta" and "Talk to us." There is no public MCP pricing as of October 2026.
APIMatic's pricing page covers its SDK and docs products:
| Plan | Price | Included |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | $300 per month per language | Up to 5 SDK languages, API Recipes, DX analytics, OAuth 2.0 support |
| Higher tier | Quote | All 7 languages, API merging, white labeling, API Copilot and Context Plugins |
| Enterprise | Quote | Custom endpoints and API portals |
The page offers a 14-day free trial. The pricing page we read did not say whether MCP will be priced inside these plans.
Security and trust
The MCP page covers authentication options and self-hosting, which keeps the server inside your own network. We did not find a security certification statement on the pages we opened. Ask for audit reports during the beta.
Self-hosting shifts operations to your team, including patching and monitoring. Our MCP security risks guide lists what to plan for.
Alternatives
- Speakeasy generates MCP servers from OpenAPI with its CLI and sells an MCP gateway.
- Zuplo serves OpenAPI routes as MCP tools on its API gateway, with public pricing.
- Fern builds docs and SDKs from API specs and hosts a docs MCP server.

Next step
Before applying to any beta, write down the five tasks your customers most want an agent to do with your API. That list shows whether curated tools are worth it. Our MCP development team can help draft it.
