Glama is best known for its large directory of MCP servers. It also hosts servers on dedicated machines, runs an MCP gateway with call logging, and offers a chat app that can use those servers. One account covers finding a server, running it and controlling access.
Checked against: Glama's MCP directory and MCP Gateway page on 28 October 2026. eSEOspace did not test Glama's products.
Key Takeaways

What Glama offers for MCP
Directory and connectors
The server directory lets you filter by language, hosting type, category and author status. Each listing shows letter grades for license, quality and maintenance. On 28 October it marked 7,294 servers as "Official" and 9,092 as "Claimed," which helps you skip unofficial copies.
The connectors list covers remote MCP servers with a URL you can copy into a client. It showed 38,706 entries, tagged by health status and auth type. Most listed no auth; 9,453 used OAuth 2.0.
Hosting
Glama's hosting page offers "private or public MCP servers on dedicated infrastructure." You can deploy a server from the registry, from a GitHub repository, or from a Dockerfile, npm package or PyPI module. Each deployment gets health checks, optional storage, runtime logs and a gateway endpoint over Streamable HTTP.
Gateway
The gateway page calls it "a reverse proxy that sits between AI clients and MCP servers." It fronts three kinds of endpoints: servers hosted on Glama, hosted connectors such as Linear or Stripe, and any remote server you bring. For connectors, routing through the gateway is opt-in. Glama says to use it "when you are running MCP at scale and need governance."
Who it's for
The directory suits anyone researching servers, including vendors checking their own listing. Hosting and the gateway suit teams that want an open-source server running somewhere other than a laptop, with logs and per-tool switches. The Glama MCP hub also offers a chat app, which Glama describes as a "ChatGPT-like UI."
Pricing
Glama's pricing page did not list plan prices for MCP features when we checked. The hosting page says "Hosting is billed on top of your workspace plan" and that infrastructure is "metered by machine hours and egress." The rate card sits in your workspace subscription settings. The gateway page offers "Create a free account" and no price list. Treat costs as unknown until you see the rate card in your account.
Security and trust
Glama says hosted deployments are private by default and gated by access tokens per connection profile. It says environment variables are "encrypted at rest," plaintext values are never stored, and access tokens are hashed. The gateway logs every JSON-RPC message, can export the audit log as JSON for a SIEM (a security log system), and alerts you when a server changes its tool definitions.
The directory also says Glama "indexes, scans, and ranks servers based on security, compatibility, and ease of use." A grade is a signal, not a guarantee. Pair it with our checklist for choosing MCP servers.
Alternatives
- Docker offers a catalog of 300+ containerized servers and an open-source gateway.
- Obot is an MIT-licensed platform for hosting servers behind a governed gateway.
- Arcade.dev now powers the Smithery directory, according to Smithery.
