Aembit is an identity and access company for workloads and AI agents. For MCP, it offers an OAuth 2.1 authorization server for MCP clients and an MCP Identity Gateway, a managed proxy that holds credentials so agents never see them. Aembit combines the user and the agent into one identity it calls "blended identity."

What Aembit offers for MCP
Aembit's MCP overview lists two components.
MCP Authorization Server
This is an OAuth 2.1 authorization server for MCP clients. Aembit's docs call it "the fastest path to identity-based access for the AI assistants your users run," such as Claude Desktop or Gemini CLI. If your company hosts the MCP server, the pricing page notes you can use it without the gateway.
Aembit can identify MCP clients by a Client ID Metadata Document (CIMD) URL or by redirect URI, per its docs index.
MCP Identity Gateway
The Identity Gateway use case describes a data-plane proxy "that Aembit operates as a managed service for your Tenant." Agents connect to it as if it were an MCP server. It relays each request to the real server with credentials Aembit manages.
Aembit lists four benefits:
- Zero credential exposure. Agents never hold MCP server credentials.
- Per-user isolation. Each user's requests use their own downstream credentials.
- Central routing. One gateway endpoint reaches many MCP servers.
- Attribution. Every request is logged with the user, agent, target server and policy decision.
Each request passes two access policies. One checks which agent is connecting and signs in the user. The other authorizes the gateway to reach a specific server and gets that user's credential for it. This design avoids token passthrough and keeps secrets out of client configs, a common source of secret leakage.
Other controls
Aembit's docs also describe:
- MCP Tool Access Control, which limits which tools an agent can discover and call.
- Content security providers, including a CrowdStrike integration that inspects MCP traffic.
- An Enterprise Managed Access Token provider that trades a user's corporate SSO identity for an MCP server token without a per-user consent prompt. This mirrors the MCP Enterprise-Managed Authorization extension.
- MCP Authorization Tracing, a live view of inbound MCP authorization requests.
Who it's for
Aembit fits larger companies that want central control over how employees' AI assistants and custom agents reach internal and SaaS MCP servers. Its homepage says it secures "personal agents that employees connect to work resources," naming ChatGPT and Claude.
It is less suited to a solo developer who only needs sign-in for one public MCP server.
Pricing
Aembit's pricing page lists Agentic AI plans as of October 2026:
| Plan | Price | Agents | MCP features | Log retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | Free | 3 | One MCP Identity Gateway, 5 MCP authorization policies | 24 hours |
| Teams | $20 per agent per month | 10, growing to 500 | Customizable gateway, unlimited policies | 7 days |
| Enterprise | Custom | Unlimited | Customizable gateway, conditional access | Custom |
The page says a personal AI agent counts as an AI agent on these plans. Going past free limits moves you to a free Enterprise trial, with no payment details needed.
Security and trust
Aembit's trust page says it has "ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type 2 certified processes and procedures." It names its ISO 27001:2022 certificate issuer as Sensiba LLP. It also says it separates control and data planes and encrypts its databases.
Alternatives

No. Aembit's pricing page says the MCP Authorization Service can be used without the gateway when your organization hosts the MCP server.
Does Aembit host the gateway?
Yes. Aembit's docs say the MCP Identity Gateway is a data-plane proxy that Aembit operates as a managed service for your tenant.
Is there a free Aembit plan?
Yes. The Agentic AI Starter plan is free for 3 AI agents, with one MCP Identity Gateway and 24 hours of log retention.
