The Miro MCP server lets an AI app read Miro boards, create diagrams, documents and tables, and work with board comments. Miro's tutorials show it turning a board into code and code into a diagram. Miro publishes and hosts it at https://mcp.miro.com/.
Checked against: Miro MCP developer docs on 28 October 2026. eSEOspace did not install or test this server.
Key Takeaways
- Sign-in uses OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration, so most clients need only the URL.
- The server is team-specific; you pick the Miro team that holds your boards when you sign in.
- On Enterprise plans the server is off by default, and an admin must enable it.
- Miro says the server respects all existing board permissions and access controls.
- One documented tool,
context_get, uses Miro AI credits.

What it can do
Miro lists these tools on its MCP intro page, with the full list on its tools page:
- Boards:
board_create,board_search_boardsandboard_list_items. - Layout and widgets:
layout_create,layout_update,layout_readandlayout_get_dsl. - Context:
context_get(summarizes a board and uses AI credits) andcontext_explore. - Content:
diagram_create,doc_create,doc_update,table_create,table_sync_rowsandcode_widget_create. - Images:
image_createandimage_get_url. - Comments:
comment_list_comments,comment_replyandcomment_resolve.
Miro's tutorials cover three uses: generating diagrams from code, building a Node.js app from a board and building a landing page from a board.
How to connect it
For Claude Code, Miro gives this command:
claude mcp add --transport http miro https://mcp.miro.com
Then run /mcp auth and complete the Miro OAuth flow. Miro says to choose the team that contains the board you want to use.
Other routes Miro documents:
- Claude on web and desktop: install the Miro connector, then sign in.
- Cursor: install the Miro plugin from the Cursor Marketplace.
- VS Code with GitHub Copilot: install from the GitHub MCP Registry.
- Other clients: Miro's AI coding tools guide covers Windsurf (now Devin Desktop), Replit, Lovable, Gemini CLI, Kiro and Amazon Q.
For manual setup in other clients, use the server URL https://mcp.miro.com/.
Security notes
Miro boards often hold early plans, customer research and roadmap ideas. Treat them as sensitive.
- Off by default on Enterprise. Miro says the server is disabled by default on Enterprise plans for security, and an admin must enable it. Miro's docs link to a separate admin guide for the settings.
- Board permissions apply. The AI can reach only the boards your account can.
- Write tools.
layout_update,doc_updateandtable_sync_rowschange existing content. Keep approval on for shared boards. - Sticky notes as input. Anyone who can edit a board can leave text that tries to steer the AI. Read our page on prompt injection.
- Dynamic client registration. It makes setup easy but means many clients can register. Our explainer on dynamic client registration covers what to watch.
More guidance is in the MCP security hub.
Alternatives
- Figma MCP server, which also includes FigJam diagram tools.
- Canva MCP server for designs and presentations.
- Notion MCP server for written plans and specs.
Next step
Miro MCP works well when product and engineering teams plan on boards and build in code. Get your admin to enable it for the right teams first. eSEOspace offers Claude Code consulting for teams setting up workflows like this, and the MCP server directory has more profiles.
