Wix MCP Server: Tools, Setup and Security

The Wix MCP server lets an AI app search Wix documentation, write code for the Wix platform and make API calls on your Wix sites. It can list your sites, call business APIs such as Stores, Bookings and CMS, and even create or publish sites. Wix hosts the server and documents it on its developer site.

Sites and data

• ListWixSites: query the sites on an account.
• GetSiteContext: a site's ID, properties and installed apps.

• ExecuteWixAPI: a script that chains, loops or paginates across REST calls. Wix calls it "the default way to call site-scoped business-data APIs, such as Bookings, Stores, and CMS."

How to connect it

For clients that support remote MCP, Wix's setup section gives this config:

Wix names Claude, Cursor, Copilot and Windsurf (now Devin Desktop) as clients with remote MCP support. Cursor users can install from a one-click button or Cursor's MCP library.

For clients without remote support, Wix uses its proxy package:

For tools like n8n, Wix documents API key sign-in. You pass the key in an Authorization header and your account ID in a wix-account-id header.

If sign-in gets stuck or you switch Wix accounts, Wix suggests deleting ~/.mcp-auth on Mac.

Security notes

• Publishing is in scope. ManageWixSite can publish sites, and ExecuteWixAPI can loop over business data. Keep approval prompts on for these tools.
• API keys reach the whole account. If you use the API key route, store the key securely and give it only the permissions it needs. See MCP secret leakage.
• Every tool is on by default. Wix says all tools are enabled by default. If your client lets you disable tools, turn off the ones you do not use. Our guide to MCP excessive permissions explains why.
• Feedback leaves your account. SupportAndFeedback sends messages to Wix. Avoid pasting customer data into it.
• Pin the proxy. The documented proxy command uses @latest. Teams with strict change control may prefer a pinned version.
