This profile is part of our MCP server directory, within The MCP Guide. Profiles are checked against each vendor's own documentation. Need a server built? See MCP development.
The Webflow MCP server lets an AI app build and manage your Webflow sites. It covers design elements, CMS collections, pages, SEO settings, assets and analytics. Webflow hosts the server and connects it to your account through OAuth.
Checked against: Webflow MCP overview on 28 October 2026. eSEOspace did not install or test this server.
If you run a marketing site, also see our guide to MCP servers for website teams.
Key Takeaways
- Webflow's getting-started page gives the server URL as
https://mcp.webflow.com/mcp. - Webflow says each authorization grants access to a single workspace.
- Some design tasks need the Webflow Designer open with the MCP Bridge App connected; the app installs during OAuth.
- Analyze, Optimize and AEO tools need paid add-ons; page branches need an Enterprise plan.
- You cannot create new site projects through MCP.

What it can do
Webflow's overview groups capabilities into five areas rather than listing tool names:
- Design and build: elements, styles, components, page branches, interactions, custom code, custom fonts and design systems.
- Manage: CMS, pages, assets, Webflow Cloud, Campaigns, forms, sitemap, SEO, comments and content audits.
- Analyze and Optimize: Analyze, Optimize and AEO (answer engine optimization).
- Automate: workflows across designs, content, styles, QA and sites.
- Governance: Agent Instructions, permissions and roles, team administration and a site activity log.
Webflow's overview lists these documented limits:
- "Users cannot create new website projects via MCP."
- Campaigns covers building and measuring, not launching.
- Classic interactions are not supported.
- Only uploaded custom font files are managed; Google and Adobe Fonts stay in site settings.
- New localized CMS items cannot be created, though existing items can be read and updated.
How to connect it
Webflow's getting-started page says you need an AI client and a Webflow account with at least one site. Then:
- Add the server to your client. Webflow documents Claude Desktop (connector or manual config), Claude Code (the
claude mcp addcommand), Grok Build and Postman. For other tools, usehttps://mcp.webflow.com/mcp. - Sign in through OAuth and authorize your sites.
- The MCP Bridge App installs automatically during authorization. Webflow says it is "not available on the public Webflow App marketplace."
Webflow's per-client pages hold the exact commands and JSON. We did not copy a command because the getting-started page names claude mcp add without showing the full line.
To switch workspaces, you authenticate again. For connector-based clients such as Claude and ChatGPT, Webflow says you remove and reinstall the connector.
Security notes
- One workspace per authorization. This limits how far a single connection reaches. Keep separate client workspaces on separate connections.
- Your roles still apply. Webflow says agents work within your existing permissions and roles. Connect with a role that matches the job.
- Design writes can break pages. Element, style and custom code tools change live designs. Review changes before you publish.
- Custom code is high risk. An AI that can add custom code can add scripts. Keep a human check on every code change; our guide to MCP prompt injection explains how bad instructions get in.
- Use the activity log. Webflow lists a site activity log under Governance. Review it after AI sessions.

Frequently asked questions
Can the Webflow MCP server create a new site?
No. Webflow says users cannot create new website projects via MCP. Create the project in the Webflow dashboard first, then manage it through MCP.
Do I need the Webflow Designer open?
Only for some tasks. Webflow says visual snapshots, image uploads and reading or changing the current selection, page or breakpoint need the Designer open with the Bridge App connected. Everything else works without it.
Does the Webflow MCP server cost extra?
Webflow lists no separate MCP price. Analyze, Optimize and AEO are optional add-ons on paid Site plans, and page branches and team administration need Enterprise plans.
Can one connection reach all my client workspaces?
No. Webflow says each authorization grants access to a single workspace. You re-authenticate to use another one.
