Freshworks' Freshdesk MCP server lets AI tools create, read and update tickets, reply to customers, manage contacts, agents and groups, and work with knowledge base articles. Each Freshdesk account gets its own endpoint, and access uses a Freshdesk API key.

How to connect it
Freshworks documents setup for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Microsoft Copilot Studio and VS Code. All use the same endpoint and an Authorization header with your API key:
https://<subdomain>.freshdesk.com/mcp
- Claude Code: register the server from the terminal with the HTTP transport and the Authorization header, then confirm it shows as connected.
- Claude Desktop: in Settings > Developer > Edit Config, add an
mcpServersentry that runsnpx -y mcp-remotewith the endpoint and header, then restart. - Cursor: add a server to
.cursor/mcp.jsonwith type HTTP, the URL and the header. - Copilot Studio: on the agent's Tools page, add a Model Context Protocol tool with API key authentication.
- VS Code: add an HTTP server entry with the URL and header to your MCP configuration, then click Start.
If connections fail on a locked-down network, Freshworks says to allow outbound HTTPS on port 443 and allowlist its region-specific IP ranges.
Security notes
Freshworks' MCP security article adds these points:
- Roles. Only users with administrator or agent roles can access MCP capabilities.
- The key is the permission. Actions inherit the permissions of the API key's user. The MCP server adds no authorization layer of its own.
- Key hygiene. Store keys securely, keep them out of client-side code and rotate them periodically.
- Logging. MCP actions appear in Freshdesk's existing logs and activity history, like API and UI actions.
- No caching. Freshworks says the server does not store or cache data; it proxies requests to Freshdesk APIs.
Two tools need extra care. replyTicket sends a reply to a customer, and createTicketBulkUpdate changes many tickets at once. Consider using the key of an agent with limited access. Read MCP secret leakage, MCP prompt injection and the MCP Security Center.
Alternatives
- Intercom MCP server: mostly read-only tools with OAuth and EU hosting.
- Front MCP server: per-user OAuth and a separate
sendscope. - Zoho CRM MCP server: if your support team also works in Zoho CRM.
Next step
Start with a limited agent's API key and read tools such as fetchTickets and fetchSolutionArticle, then add replies once you trust the drafts. For more support servers, see the MCP server directory, or ask about our MCP development work.
