What it can do

Apollo's product page groups the server's abilities into five workflows: search and organize leads, enrich and save contact records, create and manage sequences, analyze performance, and manage your task queue.

The plugin README lists the underlying tools it has confirmed. It says the remote server's full tool set may evolve independently.

The Claude Code plugin adds four workflow skills: /apollo:enrich-lead, /apollo:prospect, /apollo:sequence-load and /apollo:analytics.

Apollo also warns about a name clash. Apollo MCP is not the Apollo GraphQL MCP Server, which comes from a different company.

How to connect it

Claude, ChatGPT or Perplexity. Apollo's product page says to search for "Apollo" in your AI tool's connectors. In Claude, go to Customize > Connectors, select Apollo.io and click Configure, then approve the OAuth connection.

Claude Code. The README gives this command:

claude mcp add --transport http apollo https://mcp.apollo.io/mcp

Then run /mcp, select apollo and authenticate. Or install the plugin, which also adds the /apollo:* skills:

/plugin marketplace add apolloio/apollo-mcp-plugin
/plugin install apollo@apollo-plugin-marketplace

Other clients. The README's generic configuration for Streamable HTTP clients:

{
  "name": "apollo",
  "type": "streamable-http",
  "url": "https://mcp.apollo.io/mcp"
}

Apollo notes that some clients use type: "http" instead.

Security notes

  • Your permissions. The README says the server acts with the authenticated user's Apollo permissions and plan limits.
  • Outbound risk. Apollo warns that enrolling contacts "may start outbound automatically," depending on sequence settings. It advises checking the sequence name, sending account and volume first.
  • Credits. Enrichment consumes Apollo credits, and bulk actions scale with volume.
  • Personal data. Enrichment returns emails and phone numbers. Apollo tells users to follow privacy, anti-spam and data-protection laws.
  • Revoking. Remove the server from your client, or manage authorizations in your Apollo account settings.
  • Look-alikes. Many community "Apollo.io MCP" servers ask for an API key. They are not Apollo's product.

An agent that reads web pages and then enrolls contacts mixes untrusted input with outbound actions. Read MCP prompt injection, MCP cross-server data leakage and the MCP Security Center.
