Brighter Vision vs TherapySites vs SimplePractice Websites (2026)

This article is part of our Industry Software Guides: the website platforms, forms and booking tools practices and contractors use, with prices checked on vendor pages. Want to know where your site stands? Get a free 20–30 page website audit within 24 hours.

Pick Brighter Vision if you want a multi-page site built and updated for you, and you can accept a one-year term. Pick TherapySites if you also want SEO, ads or reputation services on the same bill. Pick SimplePractice's Professional Website if you already use SimplePractice and a free one-page site is enough for now.

All three are aimed at therapists, and all three cost less effort than building on a DIY builder. They differ most on contract terms, page limits and who owns what when you leave.

Read the contract terms before the price: that is where these three differ most.

Price and setup fees

Brighter Vision

Brighter Vision's pricing page lists three priced plans:

PlanBilled yearlyBilled monthlySetup fee
Start$78/mo$99/mo$100
Grow$143/mo$179/mo$100
Flourish$299/mo$349/moNone

A fourth tier, Thrive & Prosper, adds SEO services and ads with custom pricing. Grow adds email addresses and the Rallio social media tool. Flourish adds Hushmail HIPAA forms, 5 secure email addresses, a GoodTherapy Pro membership and one optimized content page a month.

TherapySites

TherapySites' pricing page lists a $199 one-time design fee with concierge onboarding, then six monthly tiers:

PlanPriceAdds
Core$69/moHosting, domain management, online appointment scheduling, unlimited email accounts
Advantage$99/moSEO 1.0
Premium$158/moSEO 2.0
Premium Plus$207/moAI search optimization
Elite$266/moSocial media (Premium)
Elite Plus$336/moSocial media (Elite), reputation management

The page does not show annual pricing. Add-ons include secure emails and forms from $15/mo, reputation management from $40/mo and Google Ads management from $600/mo.

SimplePractice

SimplePractice's Professional Website FAQs say the website is available at no additional cost on all subscription plans. Its pricing page lists Starter at $49/mo, Essential at $79/mo and Plus at $99/mo, billed monthly. New accounts that start paying within 7 days get 50% off for 3 months.

You only pay for the website if you count the SimplePractice subscription itself. If you don't use SimplePractice as your EHR, this option doesn't apply.

Contract and cancellation terms

This is the biggest difference between the three.

Brighter Vision. The terms of service say the initial term is one year unless your online order states otherwise, and orders renew automatically for the same period. Either party can end the agreement with 2 business days' written notice before the end of the current term. The pricing page says monthly subscribers can't get refunds. Annual subscribers can get a refund before the first draft is built, minus the setup fee, the first month and a $100 cancellation fee.

TherapySites. The terms and conditions say your initial term is set in your service agreement, and a 12-month minimum applies if the agreement states it. All fees are nonrefundable. If you cancel early, you still owe the rest of the term. Contracts renew automatically until you submit the online cancellation form, and you must cancel by the 16th of the month to avoid the next month's charge.

SimplePractice. The website is part of your subscription. The FAQs say you can unpublish it at any time, and your Client Portal then returns to its original landing page.

Ask both Brighter Vision and TherapySites for the order or service agreement before you pay. The term written there is the one that binds you.

Who owns the domain and the content

  • Brighter Vision: the pricing page says one domain is included, you "fully, 100% own" it and there are no release fees. The terms say customer content stays yours.
  • TherapySites: the FAQs say you keep a domain you already own. If TherapySites buys the domain for you, it owns it and can transfer it for a small fee. You keep content you add, but not content TherapySites provided.
  • SimplePractice: you can use a default address such as yourpracticename-clientsecure.me or connect your own domain. Using your own domain from day one makes any later move easier.

Our advice: register the domain in your own name at a registrar, then point it at whichever service you choose.

HIPAA, forms and booking

A BAA alone does not make a practice HIPAA compliant. You also need correct settings, policies and staff training. This is general information, not legal advice.

  • Brighter Vision sells HIPAA email and forms through Hushmail. Its HIPAA package page lists plans from $14.99/mo and says Hushmail prepares a digital BAA for you to sign. Flourish includes the Enterprise tier. Its websites page mentions appointment booking integrations.
  • TherapySites includes online appointment scheduling in Core. Its secure emails and forms page says the service comes with a business associate agreement and includes intake and screening form templates.
  • SimplePractice routes appointment requests from the website into your account. Its BAA takes effect when your account is created. The plan comparison shows the widget for embedding requests on an outside website on Plus only.

For how to set up intake safely on any site, see our guide to HIPAA-ready forms and scheduling.

SEO and growth

  • Brighter Vision builds multi-page sites with a blog. SEO services sit in the custom-priced Thrive & Prosper tier, and Flourish adds one optimized content page a month.
  • TherapySites adds SEO from Advantage ($99/mo) and AI search optimization from Premium Plus ($207/mo).
  • SimplePractice is one page. The FAQs say you can edit the page title and description, but you can't add pages or tabs. That rules out specialty and city pages.

A directory profile is another route to clients. Compare the two in Psychology Today profile vs your own website.

  • Choose Brighter Vision if you want a designer to build a full site, you are happy to commit for a year, and you want to own your domain outright.
  • Choose TherapySites if you want SEO, ads or reviews bundled with the site, and you have read the service agreement's term.
  • Choose SimplePractice's Professional Website if you are already a SimplePractice user, need something live quickly and can live with one page.

Frequently asked questions

Is Brighter Vision or TherapySites cheaper?

At entry level they are close. Brighter Vision Start billed yearly comes to $1,036 in year one with setup. TherapySites Core comes to $1,027 with the design fee. Month to month, Brighter Vision Start is $99/mo.

Can I cancel a therapist website service early?

Check your order. Brighter Vision's terms set a one-year initial term unless your order says otherwise. TherapySites' terms say fees are nonrefundable and you owe the remaining term if you cancel early. SimplePractice's website can be unpublished at any time.

Is the SimplePractice website enough on its own?

It works as a starting point or a landing page for current clients. Because it is one page, it can't target separate specialties or locations. Most practices that want search traffic will need a fuller site.

What should I ask before signing with a therapist website company?

Ask about the contract term, renewal, refunds, who owns the domain and content, and which plan includes forms with a BAA. Our guide on how to choose a therapy website designer has a full question list.
