What Metorial offers for MCP

The gateway and catalog

Metorial's home page describes "one governed layer between the AI clients your company uses and the tools they reach." It lists three parts:

  • Connect every tool. Access to a catalog Metorial puts at "1,100+ MCP servers and 21,000+ tools."
  • Check every agent action. A feature called Protoguard "checks every message and tool call against your policies."
  • Add your own tools. Connect internal systems and private APIs as your own providers.

The pricing FAQ says Metorial keeps catalog providers updated when an API changes. You can also lock a provider version so nothing changes unexpectedly.

Workforce and skills

Metorial Workforce is a portal for employees. People sign in with company SSO, see the tools and skills they may use, and connect their agent "with one link." Groups in your identity provider decide what each person sees.

Shared skills let an expert write a workflow once so every teammate's agent can use it. Our guide to MCP Apps, Tasks and Skills explains how skills relate to MCP.

For developers

The pricing page mentions official TypeScript and Python SDKs and an MCP Explorer in the dashboard for testing tools. It says Metorial works with Codex, Claude, Gemini and other MCP-compatible clients.

Who it's for

Metorial targets two groups. Developers can use the free plan and SDKs to give an agent many integrations quickly. Companies can use Workforce to replace "shadow MCP," which the home page describes as servers people install without IT knowing.

Pricing

Metorial's pricing page lists three plans as of October 2026:

PlanPriceIncluded
Metorial DevFree500K tool calls a month, up to 10 integrations, 2 Workforce seats, 1 environment, no production access
Metorial Scale$250.00 shown, with 20 Workforce seats2.5M tool calls a month, unlimited integrations, $20 per extra seat, extra tool calls at $1 per 1,500
EnterpriseCustomOn-prem deployment, SOC 2 II and GDPR options, RBAC, SAML SSO, SLA support

The Scale price sits next to a seat selector, so confirm the billing period and seat count at checkout. The page also notes that "unlimited usage is subject to fair use."

Security and trust

The pricing FAQ says "Metorial is SOC 2 Type II compliant and GDPR compliant." It adds that data is "encrypted in transit and at rest" and that integrations run isolated. A second answer says "specific attestations and regions are agreed per contract." Hosted regions are EU and US.

The GitHub repository uses the Functional Source License 1.1 with an Apache 2.0 future license. Metorial's pages call the core "open source" and "source available." In practice, FSL limits some commercial uses until the code converts to Apache 2.0, so read the license before you self-host. See our MCP security hub for other checks.

Alternatives

  • Nango handles MCP auth and agent sessions for products that serve many customers.
  • Merge sells Agent Handler, a managed connector platform with DLP on tool calls.
  • Composio is another managed integration platform, covered in our platforms batch.
