For most small and mid-sized businesses, Peec AI is the best AI visibility tool in 2026 because it tracks daily, includes unlimited users from $95 a month and lets you choose which AI engines to watch. If you already pay for Ahrefs or Semrush, start with their AI add-ons before buying another subscription.
These tools show whether ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode mention your brand, cite your pages and recommend your competitors. They differ most on three things: how many prompts you get, which engines are included and how often answers refresh.
The best tool is the one that tracks the prompts your buyers actually type, on the engines they actually use, at a price you will keep paying.

How we chose
- Engine coverage. At minimum ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. AI Mode, Perplexity, Copilot and Claude count as a plus.
- Prompt allowance per dollar. A tool with 15 prompts can't cover a business with five services in three cities.
- Refresh rate. AI answers change often, so we favored daily tracking over weekly.
- Seats and clients. Unlimited users matters for agencies and multi-location teams. Per-user licenses add up fast.
- Citations, not just mentions. The best tools show which pages and third-party sites the AI pulled from, so you know what to fix.
- Published pricing. We ranked tools with public prices above "contact sales" tools for small businesses.
This list replaces several older eSEOspace GEO tool roundups. Tools from those lists that are content writers or schema helpers (such as Surfer, Frase or Schema App) are not visibility trackers, so they are not ranked here.
1. Peec AI: best overall for small teams
- Best for: In-house marketers and small agencies that want daily tracking without per-seat fees.
- Price: Starter is $95/mo, Pro $245/mo and Advanced $495/mo, billed monthly. Enterprise is custom and billed annually.
Starter includes 50 prompts, three active models, daily tracking, one country, one project and unlimited team users. You pick your three models from ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI. Pro raises you to 150 prompts, three countries, two projects and API access.
Peec reports visibility, position, sentiment and sources for each prompt. The sources view is the useful part for a small business, because it shows which websites the AI leaned on.
Where it falls short:
- Perplexity and Claude are listed only on Enterprise.
- Three active models per plan means you choose between ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews and AI Mode on the lower tiers.
- API access starts at Pro.
Our take: The clearest value for a business tracking one brand in one market. Start on Starter, then move to Pro only if you need a second country or the API.
2. Profound: best for enterprise brands
- Best for: Large brands that need many engines, data exports, SSO and a support team.
- Price: A free trial and a custom Enterprise plan. The page also mentions a self-serve Agency Growth plan with 400 credits per client workspace, but lists no price for it.
The trial runs 50 recommended prompts daily for seven days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, with unlimited seats. You can't edit the trial prompts, and it has no exports or API.
Enterprise tracks up to nine answer engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Exa Search. It refreshes daily and includes full data history, CSV and JSON exports, API access, SSO and ChatGPT Shopping tracking.
Where it falls short:
- No published price for paid plans, so you can't budget before a sales call.
- The trial ends after seven days with no ongoing tracking.
Our take: One of the widest engine lists here, with enterprise reporting and support around it. It makes sense for a brand with a budget and a team to act on the data, not for a local business.
3. Elmo: best open-source tracker
- Best for: Teams that want to own their tracking data or audit how each metric is calculated.
- Price: Elmo is free to self-host, with cloud plans from $29/mo.
Elmo is an open-source AI visibility platform that runs as a managed cloud service or on your own servers. It runs tracked prompts across ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Copilot and Grok. It measures visibility and share of voice against competitors, stores the raw AI responses, and lists the domains and URLs each answer cites. It also shows query fan-out data and a ranked list of opportunities.
Where it falls short:
- The $29 cloud plan tracks ChatGPT only. $99 adds any four platforms.
- Self-hosting means you pay for servers and AI API keys and maintain it yourself.
Our take: The most transparent option on this list. Pick it if data ownership or a custom setup matters more than a polished dashboard.
4. Ahrefs Brand Radar: best if you already use Ahrefs
- Best for: Teams already paying for Ahrefs that want AI tracking next to backlinks and rankings.
- Price: Brand Radar's AI Visibility Index starts at $199/mo and custom prompts start at $50/mo, on top of an Ahrefs plan. Our pricing guide breaks down the check packages.
Brand Radar has two parts. The AI Visibility Index draws on a database of 525 million+ search-backed prompts across AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot. Custom prompts cover the same platforms plus Claude.
One check is one prompt on one platform in one location, and each prompt runs daily on every platform you select. Paid Ahrefs plans include a small allowance: Lite gets 150 checks and 5 daily prompts.
Where it falls short:
- Check-based billing takes some math. Ten prompts on five platforms burn 50 checks a day.
- Claude uses 8 checks per update, so it costs more to track.
- You need an Ahrefs plan as well.
Our take: The best value for existing Ahrefs customers, and the strongest option for researching competitors' AI presence across a huge prompt set.
5. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit: best for Semrush teams
- Best for: Marketers who live in Semrush and want AI tracking in the same login.
- Price: The AI Visibility Toolkit is $99/mo with 25 tracked prompts. Fifty more prompts cost $60/mo.
The toolkit covers prompt tracking, brand performance and a visibility overview. Semrush names ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Gemini on its help page. If you need more prompts, Semrush One bundles SEO and AI tracking with 50 prompts on its Starter tier.
Where it falls short:
- Each user needs their own $99 license. The toolkit can't be shared across a team account.
- The help page doesn't publish a full engine list.
- 25 prompts is tight for a business with several services.
Our take: Fine if Semrush is already your main tool. Small teams that need several users will pay less elsewhere.
6. Otterly.AI: cheapest paid entry point
- Best for: Solo owners and consultants testing AI tracking on a small budget.
- Price: Lite is $29/mo, Standard $189/mo and Premium $489/mo on monthly billing, with lower prices on annual billing (15% off).
Every plan tracks daily on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot, with unlimited team members. Lite includes 15 prompts. Standard includes 100 prompts, plus API and MCP requests.
Google AI Mode and Gemini are add-ons at $9/mo each on Lite and $59/mo each on Standard. Claude costs $29/mo on Lite and $109/mo on Standard.
Where it falls short:
- 15 prompts covers one service in one city, not much more.
- Adding AI Mode, Gemini and Claude can more than double the Lite price.
Our take: The cheapest honest starting point. Expect to upgrade or add engines once you know which prompts matter.
7. SE Visible (SE Ranking): best budget pick for agencies
- Best for: Agencies and multi-brand teams that need many prompts and unlimited users for little money.
- Price: Basic is $89/mo monthly or $71/mo billed annually, Core $189 or $151, Agency $399 or $319.
Basic tracks 75 prompts across five projects, Core 200 prompts across ten, and Agency 1,000 prompts across 30. Every plan has unlimited users and daily tracking, and Agency adds a weekly option. Scraped engines on all plans are ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini and Copilot.
Where it falls short:
- Perplexity is not in the scraped engine list.
- Claude via API was marked "Soon" on the comparison table.
Our take: The lowest cost per prompt for an agency on this list. A strong pick if Perplexity isn't critical for your clients.
8. AirOps: best for tying AI visibility to content work
- Best for: Enterprise content teams that want tracking and content execution in one system.
- Price: Custom. AirOps does not publish a dollar price.
AirOps Insights tracks how a brand shows up in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and AI Overviews: citation rate, mention rate, sentiment, competitor share and the questions buyers ask. Page360 connects that data to Google Search Console and GA4, so a change in AI visibility can be traced to specific URLs. Quill, its AI agent, runs playbooks for new content, refreshes, brand monitoring and offsite mentions against the gaps Insights finds, then reports results back into the same system.
Where it falls short:
- No published pricing, so it needs a sales conversation.
- More platform than a small business needs if it only wants tracking.
Our take: Most tools stop at the dashboard. AirOps suits teams that want the visibility data, the content work and the results in one place.
9. Scrunch: best for persona-based tracking
- Best for: B2B and multi-audience brands that want to see answers by buyer persona.
- Price: Starter is $300/mo month-to-month or $250/mo billed annually; Growth is $500/mo or $417/mo annually. A 7-day free trial needs no card.
Starter includes 350 custom prompts, 1,000 industry prompts, three personas, five page audits and three user licenses. All plans cover ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews and Meta. Scrunch also offers an agent experience feature that builds an AI-friendly version of your site, plus agent traffic monitoring.
Where it falls short:
- Only three users on Starter, with extra seats at $75/mo.
- Refresh frequency isn't stated on the pricing page.
Our take: Generous prompt counts and wide engine coverage for the price. Overkill for a single-location business.
10. WRITER: best end-to-end enterprise platform
- Best for: Large brands that want AI visibility monitoring and on-brand content production on one platform.
- Price: Custom. WRITER sells its enterprise platform through sales.
WRITER generates natural-language queries to map where a brand should appear in AI search, then schedules weekly reports on mentions, citations and sentiment across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and other answer engines. Its dashboards turn that data into recommended actions, show the content gaps where competitors are winning, and produce on-brand content with schema markup.
Where it falls short:
- Built and priced for enterprises, not small teams.
- Tracking is one part of a larger AI agent platform, so you pay for more than monitoring.
Our take: A strong fit when one team owns both AI visibility and content, and wants a single platform instead of separate tools.
11. AthenaHQ: best engine coverage on a self-serve plan
- Best for: Teams that want many engines and unlimited prompts without an enterprise contract.
- Price: A free Essential plan with 300 credits, then Starter at $295/mo with 3,600 credits a month. Annual billing is 17% off.
AthenaHQ bills by credits, where one credit equals one AI response. Starter lists 11 engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral. Topics, prompts, competitors and seats are unlimited.
Where it falls short:
- Credits are the real limit. Tracking many prompts on 11 engines spends 3,600 credits quickly.
- API access and extra credits are paid add-ons.
Our take: Worth trying on the free tier. Good fit if you need Grok, DeepSeek or Meta AI coverage.
12. Writesonic GEO: best if you also want a writing tool
- Best for: Content teams that want tracking and content creation in one subscription.
- Price: Starter is $79/mo, Basic $199/mo and Growth $399/mo, all billed annually. Annual billing saves 20%.
Starter tracks 50 prompts daily on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews for one user and one project. Basic doubles prompts to 100 with two users. Enterprise is custom and covers nine platforms, including Perplexity, Claude, Grok, Copilot and AI Mode.
Where it falls short:
- Only three engines below Enterprise.
- One user on Starter, with no option to add more.
Our take: A sensible choice if your team already writes with Writesonic. As a pure tracker, Peec gives more flexibility.
13. Brand24 with Chatbeat: best for PR teams
- Best for: PR and social teams already using Brand24 for web and social mentions.
- Price: Brand24 starts at $249/mo monthly or $199/mo billed annually (Individual plan). The AI Visibility module is listed as an add-on with no published price.
The AI Visibility module runs on Chatbeat, which tracks ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, DeepSeek and Grok. It reports a Brand Score that combines presence, position, sentiment and citations. Chatbeat can also be bought on its own.
Where it falls short:
- AI pricing requires a sales conversation.
- Expensive if you only need AI tracking and not social listening.
Our take: Useful when AI answers are one input in a wider reputation program. Our brand monitoring tools for digital PR guide covers that side in depth.
14. Similarweb and Conductor: best for traffic plus AI data
- Best for: Marketing teams that want AI visibility next to competitor traffic or enterprise SEO data.
- Price: Similarweb's AI Brand Visibility page lists AEO Intelligence at $99 for one user and three months of history; the billing period isn't stated. Conductor's pricing is usage-based with no dollar figures.
Similarweb's tracker covers ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini and Perplexity, with 150 tracked prompts and the top 30 brands per topic. Conductor's Growth plan includes 2,500 AI Search Credits a year, and it offers a free AI visibility analysis for ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini.
Where it falls short:
- Similarweb's entry tier keeps only three months of history.
- Conductor doesn't explain how its AI credits are spent.
Our take: Pick Similarweb if competitor traffic data matters as much as AI answers. Conductor suits teams already buying an enterprise SEO platform.
15. Wellows: best budget pick
- Best for: Owners who want to watch five AI engines for little money.
- Price: Wellows starts at $29/mo for 1,800 AI answers.
Wellows includes OpenAI, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overview and AI Mode on every plan, and limits you by answers, not prompts or seats.
Where it falls short:
- Wellows' $29 plan covers about 12 prompts daily on all five engines.
- Limits are set by answers, so heavy tracking moves you up a plan quickly.
Our take: Wellows is the cheapest way to watch five engines.
Also considered
BrightEdge (AI Catalyst) and seoClarity (the ArcAI add-on) both sell AI answer tracking inside larger platforms. None of them publishes a dollar price, so they suit enterprise SEO teams with an existing contract.
Am I On AI is a simple tracker for ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews with published monthly prices. Our pricing guide lists its plans next to the others.
How to choose
- Choose Peec AI if you want the best balance of price, engines and unlimited users for one brand.
- Choose Ahrefs Brand Radar or Semrush if you already pay for that suite. Add AI tracking there first.
- Choose Otterly.AI or Wellows if your budget is under $50 a month and you need a first baseline.
- Choose SE Visible if you are an agency tracking many clients and want the most prompts per dollar.
- Choose Profound, Scrunch or AthenaHQ if you need Claude, Perplexity, Grok or Meta AI coverage at scale.
- Choose Brand24 with Chatbeat if AI visibility is part of a PR and reputation program.
Before you buy, write down 20 to 50 prompts your buyers really ask. Our AI visibility audit guide shows how to build that list, and the pricing breakdown shows what those prompts cost on each tool. Agencies should also read our AI visibility tools for agency delivery roundup.
A tracker only tells you where you stand. Getting named more often takes content, citations and technical fixes, which is what our generative engine optimization services cover. You can also start with a free GEO audit.
Frequently asked questions
What is an AI visibility tool?
It runs a set of prompts through AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews on a schedule. It then records whether your brand was mentioned, where it ranked, which sources were cited and how competitors compare. Our explainer on what AI visibility tools track covers each metric.
Is there a free AI visibility tool?
Yes, with limits. AthenaHQ has a free plan with 300 credits, Profound offers a seven-day trial and Elmo is free to self-host. You can also check a few prompts by hand each month in a spreadsheet before paying for anything.
How many prompts does a small business need?
Start with 20 to 50 prompts that combine your services, locations and buying questions. That fits Peec AI Starter (50 prompts) or Writesonic Starter (50 prompts). Otterly's 15-prompt Lite plan is enough only for a single service.
Which AI engines should I track first?
Track ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews first, then add Gemini and AI Mode. Add Perplexity, Copilot or Claude if your buyers use them. Most entry plans cover three to five engines, so check the list before you pay.
Do these tools replace Google Search Console?
No. Search Console counts AI Overviews and AI Mode clicks inside its normal Web search report, but it doesn't show which prompts triggered your brand. Use both: Search Console for clicks, a tracker for mentions and citations.
How often should AI visibility be checked?
Daily tracking is standard on most paid plans and smooths out random swings in AI answers. Review trends weekly or monthly rather than reacting to a single day's result.
