Pick Peec AI if you want a standalone AI visibility tracker with a public price, daily tracking and unlimited users. Pick Ahrefs Brand Radar if you already pay for Ahrefs and want AI data next to your backlinks. Pick Profound if you are an enterprise brand that needs up to nine engines, exports, SSO and a support team.
All three track how AI assistants mention and cite your brand. They differ in how you pay: Peec sells prompt plans, Ahrefs sells checks on top of an SEO suite, and Profound sells custom enterprise contracts.

Price and how you pay
Peec AI publishes every self-serve price. Starter is $95/mo, Pro $245/mo and Advanced $495/mo, all billed monthly. Prompts grow from 50 to 150 to 350, and every plan keeps unlimited team users. Enterprise is custom and billed annually.
Ahrefs Brand Radar is an add-on to an Ahrefs subscription. Ahrefs plans start at $129/mo for Lite, and custom prompt packages cost $50/mo for 2,500 checks, $100/mo for 7,000 or $250/mo for 25,000. One check is one prompt on one platform in one location. The AI Visibility Index, which lets you research any brand, starts at $199/mo.
Profound shows only two plans on its pricing page: a free trial and a custom Enterprise plan. Its FAQ mentions a self-serve Agency Growth plan with 400 credits per month per client workspace, but no price is listed.
Verdict: Peec is the easiest to budget. Ahrefs is cheapest if you already pay for Ahrefs. Profound needs a sales call.
AI engines covered
Peec lets you pick three active models on its self-serve plans from ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI. Perplexity and API-based models (Claude, GPT 5 Search, Grok, DeepSeek, Qwen, Mistral, Meta Spark) are on Enterprise only.
Ahrefs Brand Radar's AI index covers AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot. Custom prompts add Claude, though each Claude update uses 8 checks.
Profound's Enterprise plan tracks up to nine engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Exa Search. The trial covers only ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews.
Verdict: Ahrefs gives the widest engine list at a low self-serve price. Profound has the widest list overall. Peec's three-model cap is the main trade-off for its low price. Engines really do disagree, as our ChatGPT vs Gemini ranking differences post shows, so pick the engines your buyers use.
Prompts and research
Peec counts prompts directly. Starter's 50 prompts generate 4,500 AI answers a month across three models, and Pro's 150 prompts generate 13,500.
Ahrefs counts checks, so prompts depend on engines. Each prompt runs daily on every selected platform. Ten prompts on five platforms use about 50 checks a day, or roughly 1,500 a month, which fits the $50 package. Paid Ahrefs plans also include a small free allowance: Lite gets 150 checks and 5 daily prompts.
Ahrefs has a research advantage. Its index is built on 525 million+ search-backed prompts, so you can see which prompts mention competitors before you choose your own. Profound offers Prompt Volumes searches (five on the trial, custom on Enterprise).
Verdict: Peec is simpler to plan. Ahrefs is better for discovering which prompts to track.
Countries and locations
Location matters if you serve more than one market. Peec Starter covers one country, while Pro and Advanced cover three; Enterprise is unlimited. Ahrefs builds location into its check math, since each check is one prompt on one platform in one location. Profound's trial is limited to one language and one region, and Enterprise sets languages and regions by contract.
Verdict: For a single-country business, all three work. For several countries, Peec Pro or Ahrefs are the self-serve options.
Metrics and reporting
Peec's docs define its core metrics as visibility (how often you are mentioned), position (where you rank among named brands), sentiment and sources. It also shows when your site is cited as a source but your brand isn't named. Advanced adds a Data Studio connector.
Brand Radar reports mentions, citations, AI share of voice against competitors and estimated impressions. It also covers sentiment, buyer-journey stage, AI bot and traffic analytics, and offsite sources such as YouTube, TikTok and Reddit.
Profound Enterprise includes all-time data history, CSV and JSON exports, API access, SSO, ChatGPT Shopping tracking and support up to a dedicated specialist. The trial has no exports, history or API.
Verdict: Profound wins on enterprise reporting. Ahrefs wins on context beyond AI answers. Peec covers the core metrics clearly at the lowest price.
Seats, clients and agencies
Peec and Profound both offer unlimited seats. Ahrefs seats follow your Ahrefs plan.
For agencies, Peec has separate agency plans built on credits, with daily tracking of 111 prompts on Essential, 277 on Growth and 722 on Scale (daily or weekly). The page doesn't list dollar prices. It does mention free pitch projects for running audits on prospects. Profound's Agency Growth plan works per client workspace. Our AI visibility tools for agency delivery post covers agency reporting needs in more depth.
What it costs for a real business
Take a home services company with three services in two cities. It wants 40 prompts tracked daily on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Here is how each tool handles that, at list prices as of November 2026.
| Scenario: 40 prompts, 3 engines, daily | Peec AI | Ahrefs Brand Radar | Profound |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plan needed | Starter (50 prompts, 3 models) | Ahrefs Lite + $50 custom prompts package | Enterprise |
| Checks or answers used | About 3,600 answers a month | 40 x 3 x 30 = 3,600 checks a month | Custom |
| Monthly cost | $95 | $129 + $50 + overage | Sales quote |
| Notes | Fits with 10 prompts to spare | 2,500 included checks; extra checks billed per check | Trial runs 7 days only |
On Ahrefs, the $50 package includes 2,500 checks, so this scenario goes over by about 1,100 checks a month. The Ahrefs pricing page lists overage at $0.020 per check on that package, or about $22. The $100 package (7,000 checks) is the cleaner choice if you expect to add engines.
If the business already pays for Ahrefs Lite, the AI cost is only the prompt package. That is why Brand Radar is often the cheapest route for existing Ahrefs customers and the most expensive for everyone else.
Where each one falls short
Peec AI
- Only three active models below Enterprise, so you choose between Gemini, AI Mode and AI Overviews.
- Perplexity and Claude require Enterprise.
- No API on Starter.
Ahrefs Brand Radar
- You must keep an Ahrefs subscription to use it.
- Check math gets complex as you add engines, locations and Claude (8 checks per update).
Profound
- No published paid price, so you can't compare without a sales call.
- The trial uses recommended prompts you can't edit, and it stops after seven days.
Which should you choose
- Choose Peec AI if you are a small or mid-sized business, want a public price and need several people to view reports.
- Choose Ahrefs Brand Radar if you already pay for Ahrefs, want Perplexity and Claude without an enterprise contract, or want to research competitors' prompts.
- Choose Profound if you are an enterprise brand that needs up to nine engines, data exports, SSO and a named support contact.
- Choose none of them yet if you haven't written down the 20 to 50 prompts your buyers ask. Start with our AI visibility audit guide.
