Best Shopify Agencies in Berlin in 2026-2027

By: Irina Shvaya | August 13, 2026

Disclosure: eSEOspace publishes this blog and ranks itself first. Every other entry was researched independently and links to its own site.

Berlin has one of the deepest Shopify benches in Europe. The city holds several Shopify Plus partners, a Premier-tier enterprise office, design studios that build storefronts from scratch, and one-person consultancies with review records that most agencies would envy. That range is good news and a problem at the same time: the right answer for a 400-SKU beauty brand is the wrong answer for a B2B seller migrating off xt:Commerce, and both are wrong for a global brand replatforming off Salesforce Commerce Cloud.

This list ranks nine firms and tells you exactly where each one stops being the right call.

Key Takeaways

  • Seven of the nine entries below run a Berlin office or a Berlin registered address. eSEOspace and WebVello work with Berlin merchants remotely.
  • Shopify partner tier is the single fastest filter. Premier and Plus tier firms take on checkout extensibility, custom apps and ERP work. Service Partner tier firms are usually the better value for theme builds, migrations and CRO passes.
  • The Shopify Partner Directory review counts vary enormously between these firms, from a handful of reviews to 79. Treat the count as a signal of volume, not of quality, and read the reviews rather than the average.
  • Several Berlin firms specialise in migrations off German platforms such as Shopware and xt:Commerce. If that is your project, hire for that specialism rather than for brand aesthetics.
  • German accessibility and compliance requirements (WCAG 2.2 and BFSG) are now part of the build conversation, and at least one firm on this list markets audits against them directly.
  • Build and growth are different disciplines. Decide up front whether you are buying a storefront, a growth programme, or both, because the firms that do both well are a minority.

How we evaluated Berlin Shopify agencies

Five things carried weight, in this order.

Verifiable Shopify status. Partner tier in the official Shopify Partner Directory, plus how long the firm has been a partner. A Plus or Premier listing means Shopify itself has vetted the shop for larger merchant work. Directory tenure tells you whether the firm rode the DACH Shopify wave or started it.

Depth of engineering. Custom app development, checkout extensibility, ERP, OMS and PIM integrations, and headless work separate the firms that can carry a complex build from the firms that customise themes well. Both are legitimate businesses. They are not interchangeable.

Migration track record. Berlin merchants arrive on Shopify from Shopware, Magento, WooCommerce, xt:Commerce and bespoke systems far more often than they start from zero. Migration experience with your specific source platform is worth more than a general portfolio.

Growth capability after launch. A storefront that nobody finds does not make money. We weighted ecommerce SEO, conversion rate optimisation, retention and analytics capability alongside build quality.

Fit honesty. Every entry gets a worst-fit note. An agency that is wrong for your project is not a bad agency, and the fastest way to a good hire is knowing which list you belong on.

Everything attributed below comes from the firms' own sites, their Impressum pages, or the Shopify Partner Directory, and is labelled as such.

1. eSEOspace

Best for: merchants who want the storefront and the organic growth programme owned by the same team, so nobody can point at the other vendor when traffic flatlines.

eSEOspace has been building and growing sites since 2019. The reason we rank ourselves first on a Shopify list is not that we out-engineer a Premier-tier enterprise shop on a nine-market replatform, because we do not. It is that most Shopify projects fail commercially rather than technically. The store launches, it looks good, and then nothing happens, because category pages have no search demand behind them, the product templates were never tested against real behaviour, and nobody owns the number.

Our work spans ecommerce design and development, technical and content SEO for ecommerce, conversion rate optimisation, and the analytics layer that decides which of the three you invest in next quarter. That combination is the argument. If your problem is that revenue per session is flat and you cannot tell whether it is a traffic problem or a template problem, that is squarely our work.

Worst fit: a nine-figure brand migrating off Salesforce Commerce Cloud across multiple regions with ERP, OMS and PIM integrations in scope. That is a Premier-tier programme, and Domaine is on this list for exactly that reason. Also a poor fit if you want an in-person Berlin team you can sit down with weekly.

2. WebVello

Best for: brands running a Shopify store next to a WordPress content site, who want both platforms and the SEO handled in one engagement.

WebVello, founded in 2024, works across WordPress, Shopify and SEO. That combination is more useful than it sounds. A very common Berlin setup is a Shopify storefront doing transactions and a WordPress site or blog doing the editorial and organic acquisition, with the two maintained by different people and neither aligned to the same keyword or measurement plan. A firm that covers both removes that seam.

The trade-off is that WebVello is a young firm. That is worth knowing rather than worth hiding. For a straightforward build, a content-led SEO push, or a Shopify plus WordPress stack that needs one owner, it is a reasonable shortlist entry.

Worst fit: anything that lives or dies on deep Shopify Plus engineering, such as custom Plus apps, checkout extensibility or ERP integration. For that, go to the Plus and Premier tier firms further down this list. Also a weaker fit for buyers who specifically want a long institutional track record behind the contract.

3. Domaine (Domaine DACH)

Best for: enterprise and scale-up brands running an international, multi-region Shopify Plus rollout, or a heavy replatform off Salesforce Commerce Cloud or Magento.

Domaine is the enterprise option in Berlin. Its DACH arm is listed in Berlin at Premier tier in the Shopify Partner Directory, the top of Shopify's partner hierarchy, with a 5.0 average from two directory reviews. The company site positions Domaine as the leading Shopify partner for global brands and states 300+ full-time employees globally, Shopify Platinum Partner status and a fully Shopify-certified team. Domaine's site also states 750+ Shopify sites launched, more than $5B in GMV and 150+ migrations off SFCC, Magento, BigCommerce and custom platforms. Those are the company's own figures, so weigh them accordingly.

Scope covers strategy (audits, CRO, SEO, analytics), creative (UI/UX, branding, design systems, 3D), technology (theme and headless development, replatforming, ERP/OMS/PIM integrations) and lifecycle marketing. The Partner Directory profile names BURNHARD and Alpinestars; the company site names r.e.m. beauty, Timex, Arhaus, Ulla Johnson, Floyd, Paravel, Gabriela Hearst, Milk Makeup, Bandier, Peloton, FIGS, Benchmade, Creed and Stoney Clover Lane.

Worst fit: early-stage or small D2C brands who need a straightforward theme build or a few hours of monthly maintenance. An agency at this size and tier will be priced and scoped well above that, and you will be a small account inside a large machine.

4. Shopfabrik Berlin GmbH

Best for: mid-market and D2C brands that need genuine engineering, including custom Plus apps, checkout extensibility, and migrations off Shopware, Magento or WooCommerce.

Shopfabrik sits at Plus tier in the Shopify Partner Directory, listed in Berlin, a partner since June 2019, with a 5.0 average from 10 directory reviews. It positions itself as a strong technical partner for complex builds: custom theme and feature development, Shopify app development for Plus, checkout optimisation, A/B testing and UX/UI work. The site states official Shopify Experts and Shopify Plus Partner status and references a Shop Usability Award 2023.

Two things make it distinctive. First, it markets accessibility and compliance audits against WCAG 2.2 and BFSG, which is increasingly a procurement requirement for German merchants rather than a nice-to-have. Second, project tracking runs through Asana and Slack, which suits clients who want visibility rather than monthly status calls. The site names Fahrengold, Holy Energy, Caparol Icons, Weinfuerst, Everdrop and Enpal Solar, and its Berlin landing page also names FREDA and Gitti Berlin. The office is at Friedrichstr. 155, 10117 Berlin.

Worst fit: brands looking primarily for a media and marketing partner, meaning paid social and Google Ads, rather than development. Also wrong if your priority is the cheapest possible theme setup.

5. merconic GmbH

Best for: established D2C brands that want the build and the growth programme under one roof, including the ERP connection, the CRO work and the email and paid channels.

merconic is a full-stack Shopify agency in Prenzlauer Berg, listed at Plus tier in the Shopify Partner Directory, a partner since December 2019, with a 4.9 average from 19 directory reviews. The directory lists supported locations of Germany, Italy and Portugal, and merconic is also listed in the Gorgias service partner directory.

The pitch is growth rather than storefront aesthetics alone. Shop setup, migration and relaunch sit alongside CRO, Klaviyo-based retention and email automation, performance marketing, and technical API and ERP integrations. The firm frames its work around lifetime value and profitability rather than launch day, and sells ongoing Shopify support packages. The site names Josephinenhuette, docboom, e+m Holzprodukte, LCredi, NOMAD, tatem.de and cacaoloves.me. The Impressum lists Schoenhauser Allee 59b, 10437 Berlin, HRB 78498, managing director Michael Walser.

Worst fit: enterprise buyers who need a large multi-market programme team, and brands that want a pure design or branding engagement with no growth-marketing component attached. If you want a storefront and nothing else, you will be paying for capability you are not using.

6. 4TFM E-Commerce Agentur GmbH

Best for: German-speaking B2B sellers and merchants migrating off an older German platform who need custom extensions and process automation.

4TFM, which also trades as ecommerce-agentur.net, is listed at Plus tier in the Shopify Partner Directory, in Berlin, a partner since April 2018, with a 5.0 average from 79 directory reviews and support for Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Canada. That review volume is the highest on this list by a wide margin. Its own site states Shopify Plus Partner since 2019 and official xt:Commerce Solution Partner since 2015.

That xt:Commerce lineage is the reason to call them. If you are sitting on a legacy German platform and need someone who has actually moved catalogues, customer data and B2B pricing logic off it, that experience is hard to substitute. Service coverage runs from consulting and concept through implementation and support, with shop design, custom extensions, process automation and B2B commerce systems in scope. The Impressum lists Wilhelm-Kuhr-Str. 5, 13187 Berlin, managing director Alexander Scherbaum, HRB 212222 B, Amtsgericht Charlottenburg.

Worst fit: brands wanting a design-forward, brand-led storefront concept, or a heavy performance-marketing engagement. The centre of gravity here is engineering and systems, not creative or media buying.

7. futrlab

Best for: premium and luxury brands in fashion, beauty, interiors and adjacent retail that want a bespoke, editorial storefront and will fund a custom build.

futrlab is a design-led studio on Kurfuerstendamm building custom Shopify and Shopify Plus storefronts, with the explicit promise of "kein Theme von der Stange", no off-the-shelf theme. Builds come off the studio's own component library. The strengths are editorial, magazine-style product pages, product configurators, and international multi-currency and multi-language setups, plus WooCommerce-to-Shopify migrations. The site quotes a typical 10 to 14 week timeline from briefing to launch, which is a usefully concrete number to plan against.

Worth knowing: futrlab also markets Shopware work, so Shopify is a major focus but not an exclusive one. Depending on your view that is either a red flag or an advantage, because a studio fluent in both platforms can give you a straighter answer about which one you should be on. The site names Kisha Cosmetics (2025), Ravensberger Matratzen (2025), Monoqi (2022), Knirps, Urbanara and CRX Real Estate. The Impressum lists Kurfuerstendamm 167/168, 10707 Berlin, operated by K86 GmbH, managing director Enzo Piro.

Worst fit: technically demanding enterprise migrations where a certified Shopify Plus partner is a hard procurement requirement. In that case, Domaine, Shopfabrik, merconic or 4TFM are the entries to shortlist. Also wrong if you need a launch in under two months.

8. karl.cc (Alexander Karl)

Best for: small and mid-sized brands that want to work directly with the senior person doing the work, on a focused migration, relaunch or CRO engagement.

karl.cc is a boutique, owner-operated Shopify consultancy in Berlin-Mitte, trading under the line "Kreativ gedacht. Konvertierend umgesetzt." Alexander Karl handles the whole chain personally: strategy, design, copywriting and technical implementation, across new Shopify launches, migrations from Shopware and WordPress, redesigns and relaunches, CRO, and on-demand support retainers. The site states hands-on ecommerce since 2019 and 40+ completed Shopify projects, including upgrading clients to Shopify Plus for international expansion.

The Shopify Partner Directory lists the practice as a Service Partner in Berlin, a partner since August 2020, with a 5.0 average from three directory reviews and languages of English, German and Russian. Case studies on the site name Hoto Tools (Xiaomi), Spleen Berlin, David Pher, Selvage Denim, Clemens Home, WP.Energy and Iron Heart Germany. The Impressum lists Gartenstrasse 102, 10115 Berlin, registered as a sole proprietorship.

Worst fit: anything needing parallel workstreams or guaranteed enterprise-grade capacity and SLAs. This is a one-person operation by design, which is the whole appeal and also the whole constraint. If your project cannot tolerate a single point of dependency, hire an agency with a bench.

9. Shopibrands

Best for: first-time and budget-conscious D2C merchants who need a competent, hands-on Shopify build, migration or CRO pass without agency overhead.

Shopibrands describes itself as "a Shopify agency built by sellers, for sellers" and "Small by choice. Better by design." It works exclusively on Shopify: theme setup, UX and design, custom coding, conversion optimisation, migrations, SEO setup, app integration for reviews, bundles and upsells, Klaviyo email automation, and launch support. It publishes an entry-level starting rate, which makes budgeting a great deal easier at the small end of the market.

The Shopify Partner Directory lists Shopibrands at Service Partner tier in Berlin, a partner since September 2021, with a 5.0 average from 52 directory reviews and support for Germany, the United States, Austria and Switzerland. Fifty-two reviews at that tier is a meaningful volume of completed small-merchant work. The site additionally claims Google Partner and Klaviyo certifications, works in English, German and Spanish, and names Bolgie, a beauty brand with roughly 400 products. The Impressum lists Dannenwalder Weg 50, 13439 Berlin, owner Maria Veronica Ducos Abadie.

Worst fit: Shopify Plus and enterprise projects, deep custom app or ERP integration work, or anything requiring a large team working in parallel. This is a small, owner-run studio and it says so plainly.

Frequently asked questions

Do I actually need a Shopify Plus partner?

Only if your project needs what Plus unlocks. Custom checkout logic, Shopify Functions and checkout extensibility, custom Plus apps, B2B pricing logic and ERP or PIM integrations are the honest triggers. If you are building a well-executed storefront on a standard Shopify plan, migrating a catalogue, and improving conversion, a Service Partner tier firm such as karl.cc or Shopibrands will usually deliver the same outcome for less. Partner tier is a capability filter, not a quality score.

What does a Shopify build in Berlin cost?

The spread across this list is enormous, and price tracks scope far more than it tracks postcode. Shopibrands publishes an entry-level starting rate, which anchors the small end. A custom, design-led storefront from a studio like futrlab is a different order of magnitude and comes with a stated 10 to 14 week timeline attached. An enterprise replatform with ERP, OMS and PIM integrations from a Premier-tier firm is different again. Get scoped quotes from two firms in the same tier rather than comparing across tiers, because the numbers will not be comparable.

How long should a Shopify project take?

futrlab's stated 10 to 14 weeks from briefing to launch is a reasonable planning anchor for a bespoke storefront. Theme-based builds with a clean catalogue move faster. Migrations run longer than people expect, and the delay is almost never the front end. It is data: product variants, customer records, order history, redirects and SEO continuity. Budget serious time for the redirect map specifically, because that is where migrations quietly lose organic revenue.

Should I hire a Berlin agency or work remotely?

Hire locally when the work needs regular in-person sessions, when German-language operations and compliance are central, or when your team wants to sit in a room with the developers. Work remotely when the specialism you need is the scarce thing. A Berlin address does not improve your ecommerce SEO or your CRO programme, and both of those are usually the constraint on revenue after launch. Plenty of Berlin merchants run a local build partner and a specialist growth partner side by side, which works well as long as one of them owns the metric.

How do I evaluate German accessibility and compliance requirements?

WCAG 2.2 and BFSG obligations now come up in most serious German ecommerce procurement conversations. Shopfabrik markets audits against both directly, which makes it the obvious first call on this list if compliance is a named requirement in your brief. Ask any shortlisted firm to show you how they test, not just whether they say they comply, and put remediation in scope from the start rather than treating it as a post-launch project.

What is the biggest mistake merchants make when hiring?

Buying a launch instead of a business outcome. The contract ends at go-live, the agency moves on, and six months later the store looks great and converts the same as the old one. Before you sign, agree what the store should do to revenue per session, organic sessions, or repeat purchase rate, and agree who is accountable for it after launch. That single question changes which firm on this list you should hire more than any other factor. If you want that thinking applied to your own store, talk to us.

Conclusion

Berlin's Shopify market is unusually well stratified, which makes shortlisting easier than it looks. At the top, Domaine's DACH office is the Premier-tier answer for global replatforms. In the middle, Shopfabrik, merconic and 4TFM are three Plus-tier firms with genuinely different centres of gravity: engineering and compliance, growth and retention, and legacy B2B migration respectively. futrlab is the design-led custom build. karl.cc and Shopibrands are the two boutique options, one senior and hands-on, the other small and accessible on price.

Pick the tier that matches your project, then pick the specialism inside it. And whichever firm you hire, settle before signing who owns the revenue number after launch, because that is the part almost nobody scopes and the part that decides whether the project paid for itself.
