Best Hygraph Development Agencies in 2026-2027

By: Irina Shvaya | August 4, 2026

Disclosure: eSEOspace publishes this blog and ranks itself first. Every other entry was researched independently and links to its own site.

Hygraph is a GraphQL-native headless CMS, headquartered in Berlin. That single design decision changes who you should hire. A GraphQL-first content API rewards teams that think in schemas, federated sources and typed queries. It punishes teams that treat a CMS as a page builder with a theme folder.

So the question is not "who builds websites." The question is who models content properly, who wires Hygraph into commerce and PIM and ERP systems without creating a brittle mess, and who leaves you with a front end that is fast, indexable and maintainable after the agency invoices stop.

This guide ranks eight agencies. We publish it, and we put ourselves at number one, which you should read with the appropriate skepticism. Everything below rank one was researched from the agencies' own sites and Hygraph's public partner directory. Where a founding year, a team size or a client attribution could not be verified, we left it out rather than guessing. Several of these agencies display impressive client logos that they never explicitly tie to Hygraph work, and we flag that where it applies, because it matters when you are choosing a vendor.

Key Takeaways

  • Hygraph is GraphQL-native, so content modeling skill matters more than templating skill. Hire for schema thinking first.
  • Most of the strongest Hygraph partners are European, and a large share are commerce specialists. If your project is composable commerce, you have a deep bench to choose from.
  • Client logos on an agency site are rarely labeled as Hygraph projects. Ask directly which named engagements ran on Hygraph before you assume a logo means relevant experience.
  • Partner directory tiers are a signal about the vendor relationship, not a measure of delivery quality. Read them as "this firm has committed to the platform," then verify the delivery record separately.
  • Enterprise systems integrators and boutique product shops solve very different problems. The former handles multi-system programs and change management. The latter ships faster and costs less.
  • Accelerators and pre-built starters shorten timelines but constrain architecture. That is a good trade for mid-market teams and a bad one for genuinely unusual requirements.
  • A Hygraph build is only half the job. Search visibility, analytics and conversion work decide whether the replatform pays for itself.
  • Timezone and language alignment are underrated. A Munich or Berlin partner is excellent for a DACH B2B manufacturer and awkward for a US team that wants daily standups.

How we evaluated these Hygraph development agencies

We scored each firm on six things.

Demonstrable Hygraph practice. Does the agency publish a Hygraph-specific service page, appear in Hygraph's solution partner directory, or have a documented case study on the platform? Talking about "headless" is not the same as committing to Hygraph.

Content modeling depth. Hygraph projects live or die on the schema. We looked for evidence of content modeling as a named discipline rather than an afterthought inside a development sprint.

Front-end capability. Hygraph is headless by definition, so someone has to build the presentation layer. Next.js and modern React proficiency, plus a real performance posture, carried weight.

Integration surface. Commerce engines, PIM, ERP, search, personalization. Hygraph is usually one node in a larger composable graph, and the hard work sits at the seams.

Fit clarity. We prefer agencies that are legible about who they serve. A shop that says "mid-sized German B2B manufacturers" is more useful than one that says "we work with ambitious brands."

Verifiability. We only state facts we could confirm on the agency's own site or Hygraph's public pages, and we name which of the two a fact came from when the two do not agree. No invented headcounts, no invented founding years, no review scores.

We deliberately excluded agencies whose public work does not demonstrate the stack this article covers, even when they are strong in their own lanes. A great WordPress or Shopify shop is not a Hygraph shop.

1. eSEOspace

Based: United States. Founded: 2019.

We build custom web and application projects and pair them with the search, content and conversion work that determines whether a build actually earns anything. That combination is the argument for putting us first, and it is also the honest limit of the claim: we are a full-service digital agency with a custom software design and development practice, not a boutique that does nothing but Hygraph.

What that means in practice for a headless project. Content modeling is treated as a business exercise, not a technical one. Before anyone opens an editor, we want to know which teams publish, how often, in how many locales, and what has to be reusable across surfaces. Most bad headless implementations are bad because the model was drawn to match today's page designs rather than tomorrow's content operations, and a GraphQL-native CMS makes that mistake expensive to unwind.

We also treat content management as an ongoing service rather than a handoff. A headless CMS gives editors freedom and takes away guardrails at the same time. Teams that get value from it are the ones with a maintained model, a documented publishing workflow and someone accountable for both. Without that, the schema drifts, one-off fields accumulate, and within a year the model describes the pages that happened rather than the content the business actually has.

The part that separates us from most implementation shops is what happens after launch. A replatform is a search event whether you plan for it or not. Redirect maps, template-level metadata, structured data, internal linking and crawl budget all move on day one. We run organic SEO and insights and analytics alongside the build so the traffic curve does not dip and stay dipped. That is a service most technical agencies quietly leave to the client.

Best for: Organizations that want one team accountable for the build and for the traffic, leads and revenue that follow it.

Worst fit: A pan-European enterprise running a multi-year systems-integration program across a dozen internal stakeholders and several ERP instances. That work wants a large SI, and several are listed below.

If you want to talk through whether a headless approach fits your situation, book a call.

2. Blazity

Based: Warsaw, Poland. blazity.com

Blazity is a technology consultancy listed at Gold tier in Hygraph's partner directory, and of every firm on this list it is the most clearly a Hygraph and Next.js specialist rather than a generalist with a Hygraph page. The directory profile describes full-stack product development, custom web development, audits and migrations, plus Hygraph App Marketplace development. That last item is a meaningful signal: building marketplace apps means working inside Hygraph's extension model, not just consuming its API.

The Planday engagement is the strongest publicly documented Hygraph credential in this article. Blazity's own case study describes a full website migration from Builder to Hygraph, with content spanning blog articles, customer stories, webinars and marketing pages across multiple European markets, rebuilt on Next.js with an automated translation workflow. It is worth noting that this case study appears on Blazity's site, and we did not find a matching write-up on Hygraph's own customer pages, so treat the results it reports as the agency's own account rather than an independently published one. Even so, a named client with the source and destination CMS both stated is more than most agencies offer.

Blazity's site also displays Cook Unity, Solana, Reckitt and Tom Tailor. Those are serious brands, but the site does not state that any of them are Hygraph projects, so treat them as evidence of engineering caliber rather than Hygraph depth. The company's public service framing leans toward performance engineering, migration and modernization, and technical consulting, which is consistent with a shop whose center of gravity is the front end and the migration path rather than the surrounding business program.

Best for: Next.js front ends on Hygraph, and replatforming an existing site onto Hygraph with multi-market localization.

Worst fit: Buyers who need heavy business-side consulting, org change management and stakeholder facilitation wrapped around the technical work. This is an engineering-led shop.

3. foobar Agency

Based: Munich, Germany. foobar.agency

foobar is a specialized eCommerce technology consultancy built around MACH principles and composable commerce, and its Hygraph partner profile says it was established in 2015. It appears at Gold tier in Hygraph's directory, where its listed services are software development, web and app development, migration to headless, and business consulting. Its own site presents Hygraph as a technology partner within a content management practice that sits alongside commerce and a data and AI line.

That shape is right for a commerce project, where the hard decisions are about which system owns which attribute, and where product data ends and editorial content begins. A firm that also sells data architecture work is a firm that has had to answer those questions before, and the answer is rarely "put it all in the CMS."

The client logos are heavyweight and numerous: ABUS, AIDA Cruises, Cyberport, HARTING, Lavazza, Segmüller, NKD and Witt Gruppe among others. As with most firms here, the site does not label which of those ran on Hygraph, so ask in the first call. The roster skews toward German retail, manufacturing and travel brands, which tells you something useful about the delivery context this team is fluent in.

If your project is a storefront, the ecommerce design and development decisions you make with a partner like this will shape your merchandising options for years.

Best for: Composable commerce and eCommerce replatforming where Hygraph is the content layer beside a headless storefront.

Worst fit: Non-commerce projects. A publisher, a SaaS marketing site or a services brand is buying past a specialism it will never use.

4. Turbine Kreuzberg

Based: Berlin, Germany and Faro, Portugal. turbinekreuzberg.com

Turbine Kreuzberg is a software agency spanning digital commerce, data and AI, and cybersecurity. It builds enterprise applications: commerce platforms, marketplaces, data applications. It is one of the few firms here with a dedicated Hygraph page on its own site rather than only a directory listing, and that page scopes the offering to CMS implementation and front-end or SPA work. It also appears at Gold tier in Hygraph's partner directory.

The distinction that matters here is scope. This is not a shop you hire to build a brochure site on Hygraph. It is a shop you hire when Hygraph is one component inside an architecture that also includes a commerce engine, a data platform and integration work, and when security posture is a board-level question. The pairing of a commerce practice with a cybersecurity practice is unusual among agencies of this size, and it is the reason regulated and enterprise buyers end up on their shortlist.

Hornbach, Riese & Müller, Sennheiser, Swisscom, Roche and Coop appear as clients on the site. Again, no Hygraph attribution is stated.

Best for: Enterprise-grade commerce platforms and custom applications where Hygraph is one part of a larger composable architecture.

Worst fit: Small teams with a fixed modest budget. Enterprise delivery structure comes with enterprise discovery, documentation and cost.

5. Macaw

Based: Hoofddorp, Netherlands, with offices in Wuppertal, Germany and Vilnius, Lithuania. macaw.net

Macaw is a hybrid: part systems integrator, part digital agency. Its own site organizes the practice around artificial intelligence, data analytics, employee experience, business applications, marketing and commerce, cloud and managed services, and security and compliance. Hygraph's partner directory lists Macaw at Silver tier, describes it as employing more than 400 people, and names Heineken, Deutsche Telekom, Eneco, Henkel and L'Oréal in the profile. Macaw's own site features Heineken and Eneco alongside VGZ, FUCHS SE, Nutreco, Noerr, Menzis, Cube Cold and fraenk.

One honest caveat. Hygraph does not appear anywhere on Macaw's own homepage or in its published service lines. The partner listing is the evidence of the practice, and the Silver tier is the lowest partner tier of any firm in this article. That does not undercut the relationship, but it does tell you Hygraph is one option in a broad portfolio rather than the house standard. If you want a partner whose default answer is Hygraph, look higher on this list. If you want a partner who will genuinely evaluate whether Hygraph is right for you against half a dozen alternatives, that portfolio breadth is a feature rather than a flaw. Ask which Hygraph engagements the firm has actually delivered and who staffed them, because at this scale the answer varies by practice group.

Best for: Large enterprises that need Hygraph delivered inside a wider systems-integration program with ongoing strategy, adoption support and managed services.

Worst fit: Fast-moving teams that want a small senior squad and weekly shipping. SI engagements do not move that way.

6. Alpha Solutions

Based: Copenhagen, Denmark, with offices in Hoboken, New Jersey and Oslo, Norway. alpha-solutions.com

Alpha Solutions is a digital transformation and composable commerce consultancy covering strategy and design, enterprise eCommerce, integrations, product information management and content management across North America and Northern Europe. Its Hygraph partner profile lists it at Gold tier and states that the firm was founded in 2004. Its own site does not publish a founding year, so treat that date as sourced from the directory rather than from the company.

The transatlantic footprint is the genuinely differentiating fact here, and it is confirmed on the company's own contact details: a Copenhagen head office, a Hoboken address on the New Jersey side of the Hudson, and an Oslo office. If you are a US company that needs European delivery, or a Nordic company that needs a US presence, that combination is rarer than it sounds and it removes an entire category of timezone friction.

Case studies on the site reference DLG, Ahlsell, Drømmeland, Carl Hansen & Søn, Illums Bolighus and AO Workwear. Hygraph's own partner profile adds a case study with the Scandinavian furniture retailer Møbelringen. The site itself does not name Hygraph, so the partner listing is the primary evidence of the practice. Ask for a Hygraph reference specifically.

For commerce clients, this is a firm that thinks in roadmaps rather than single projects, which pairs naturally with sustained ecommerce SEO work rather than a one-off launch push.

Best for: Nordic and US enterprise commerce programs that need Hygraph slotted into a broader composable commerce and integration roadmap.

Worst fit: Buyers who want a Hygraph-first specialist. Here Hygraph is a component of a transformation practice, not the headline.

7. datrycs

Based: Dortmund, Germany. datrycs.com

datrycs is a commerce consultancy that covers the whole arc: customer research, creative direction, technical implementation, analytics and maintenance, for both B2B and B2C. Hygraph features prominently on its own site as one of a small set of core technology partners, positioned as the headless CMS and content layer for the point where content and commerce converge. The firm appears at Gold tier in Hygraph's partner directory, where its listed service is business consulting and where a Composable Commerce Accelerator is referenced as available through the Hygraph marketplace.

That accelerator is the reason to consider datrycs and also the reason to think twice. An accelerator gets a mid-market team to a working composable stack far faster than a from-scratch build, with fewer architectural arguments and a shorter path to a first release. The trade is that you inherit someone else's opinions. If your requirements are ordinary, that is a bargain. If they are genuinely unusual, you will spend the saved time fighting the defaults. The practical test is to ask which parts of the accelerator are meant to be replaced and which are load-bearing, and to get that answer before contract rather than during sprint four.

Project examples on the site include FAAREN Group, Ikarus Design Handel GmbH, doppler & Knirps, dataspine, F.C. Hansa Rostock, minimum.de and Karls Erdbeerhof. The site does not specify which use Hygraph. Note also that the growth figures in the directory profile describe client revenue outcomes rather than datrycs' own size, and they are self-reported, so treat them as marketing rather than as verified performance data.

Best for: German-speaking mid-market B2B and B2C commerce teams that want a pre-configured Hygraph plus commerce stack rather than a bespoke build.

Worst fit: Non-German-speaking teams outside Central Europe, and anyone whose architecture genuinely needs to be bespoke.

8. codeblick

Based: Augsburg, Germany, with a primarily remote team. codeblick.de

codeblick is a digital agency building websites, eCommerce systems, web portals and product configurators on modular, API-first architectures. The center of gravity is Shopware commerce and mid-sized German B2B manufacturers, which is a specific and credible niche. It appears at Gold tier in Hygraph's partner directory, where the described focus is API-first architecture and Shopware for mid-sized B2B companies across mechanical engineering, building components, furniture and renewable energy.

The caveat is the largest on this list and we will not soften it: codeblick.de does not mention Hygraph anywhere. Named projects include Salamander, GO IN GmbH, HF Group, ENVIRIA Energy Holding GmbH and BBB die Wasserprofis, and none of them are presented as Hygraph work. The GO IN engagement is described on their site as a Shopware 6 relaunch, which is representative of the visible portfolio. The directory listing is real. The public Hygraph portfolio evidence is not there yet. That is why they rank eighth rather than being excluded, and it is a fair question to open your first call with.

Customer portals are the interesting angle here. B2B manufacturers frequently need authenticated portals and product configurators more than they need marketing pages, and that is closer to custom backend and CRM development than to CMS work. If that is your actual requirement, the absence of a published Hygraph case study may matter less than the presence of a published configurator.

Best for: Mid-sized German B2B manufacturers and wholesalers wanting an API-first site or customer portal, often alongside Shopware.

Worst fit: Anyone who needs to see a documented Hygraph case study before signing.

Frequently asked questions

Why are so many Hygraph agencies European?

Hygraph is headquartered in Berlin, and its partner ecosystem grew in Europe first, particularly across Germany and the Netherlands, where composable commerce adoption among mid-market manufacturers and retailers has been unusually strong. Six of the eight firms in this article are European, and five are German-speaking. The practical consequence for a US buyer is that the deepest Hygraph benches often sit several hours ahead of you. That is workable with async discipline and painful without it.

A partner lists impressive logos. Does that mean they built those sites on Hygraph?

Usually you cannot tell, and this is the single most common source of misplaced confidence when hiring. Almost every agency in this article displays major brands without stating which engagements used Hygraph. Many of those logos will be Shopware, commercetools or other platform projects, since several of these firms describe those stacks far more prominently than they describe Hygraph. Ask for two named Hygraph builds, ask what the content model looked like, and ask to speak to the client. An agency with real Hygraph depth will answer immediately.

What does a partner tier in the directory actually tell me?

Less than the label suggests. Tiers reflect the commercial relationship between the agency and the vendor, including things like training, certification and pipeline, rather than an audit of delivered work. Two of the firms here carry the same tier while one publishes a named Hygraph case study and the other does not mention Hygraph on its own site at all. Use the tier to confirm the relationship exists, then verify delivery separately with references.

Should I pick a Hygraph specialist or a large systems integrator?

Match the vendor to the number of systems and stakeholders involved. If the project is a site and an API or two, a specialist ships faster, costs less and gives you senior people on the actual work. If the project touches ERP, PIM, CRM, three business units and a compliance review, an integrator's process is not bureaucracy, it is the thing keeping the program from stalling. The failure mode in both directions is expensive.

How much does a Hygraph implementation cost?

We will not quote figures for other people's businesses, and any article that does is guessing. What we can tell you is the shape of the estimate. Content modeling and discovery is typically a meaningful fraction of the total, front-end build is usually the largest single line, and integration work is the line that most often exceeds its estimate. Ask every agency to break the quote into those three buckets. Firms that will not break it down are the ones to worry about.

What does a Hygraph replatform do to my SEO?

It moves everything at once, which is either an opportunity or a disaster depending on preparation. URLs change, templates change, rendering strategy changes, internal linking changes. Before launch you need a complete redirect map from a real crawl of the current site, metadata and structured data specified at the template level, and a rendering approach that serves crawlers complete HTML. After launch you need log and index monitoring for at least a quarter. Headless architectures are perfectly capable of ranking well. They are also perfectly capable of shedding traffic when nobody owns this work.

Is Hygraph the right choice at all, or should I look at alternatives?

Hygraph is strongest when you have multiple content sources to unify, multiple locales or markets, several delivery surfaces, and a development team comfortable with GraphQL. It is a weaker fit when a small marketing team needs to build and rearrange landing pages daily with no developer involved, because a GraphQL-native headless CMS gives editors an API-shaped mental model rather than a page-shaped one. Be honest about which of those describes your team before you commit, and let marketing strategy drive the platform decision rather than the reverse.

Conclusion

The Hygraph partner landscape in 2026 is heavily European, heavily commerce-oriented, and more varied in depth than the partner directory suggests at a glance. Blazity is the clearest Hygraph and Next.js specialist and the only firm here with a named Hygraph migration published in detail. foobar and Turbine Kreuzberg are the strongest picks for commerce and enterprise engineering respectively, and Turbine Kreuzberg is one of the few that documents its Hygraph scope on its own site. Macaw and Alpha Solutions bring integrator scale and, in Alpha's case, a genuine transatlantic footprint, though neither names Hygraph on its own site. datrycs offers speed through an accelerator distributed in the Hygraph marketplace. codeblick has the directory listing and the niche but not yet the public Hygraph portfolio.

Two things to carry into your vendor calls. First, insist on Hygraph-specific references rather than accepting logos or directory tiers, because most of these firms are multi-platform and their best case studies often ran on something else. Second, decide before you sign who owns search visibility, analytics and conversion after launch. A technically excellent headless build that loses a third of its organic traffic in the first quarter is not a successful project, and that outcome is common enough to plan against.

We rank ourselves first because we do both halves of that job. If you want an outside read on whether Hygraph fits your content operation, or whether your current platform is the actual problem, get in touch.
