This list is part of our best-of MCP lists, within The MCP Guide. Entries are checked against each vendor's own pages; inclusion is editorial and not paid.
The best MCP servers for agencies in 2026 are the ones that work across many client accounts: HighLevel for client CRMs, DataForSEO, Ahrefs and Semrush for SEO data, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity for site behavior, Meta for ads, Hootsuite for social, and Webflow and Figma for site and design work. Each lets an AI assistant pull client data or do routine production work from a chat.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard that connects AI apps such as Claude and ChatGPT to outside software. For an agency, the gain is speed on recurring work: monthly reports, keyword research, ad checks and content updates. The risk is reach. One connection may touch many clients at once.
We checked every entry against the vendor's own site or docs on 28 October 2026. We did not test these products. eSEOspace is a web design and SEO agency, so we left ourselves off this list.
Key Takeaways
- Pricing models differ more than features. DataForSEO is pay-as-you-go, Ahrefs needs Lite or higher, Semrush needs specific plans with API units, and Google's analytics server is free and open source.
- Read-only is common for data tools: Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and Semrush's Projects tools are read-only. Meta, Webflow, Hootsuite and HighLevel can change live client assets.
- HighLevel is the only entry built around agency sub-accounts, and it lets you pick which sub-accounts a connection can reach.
- Figma's write-to-canvas feature is free during beta but Figma says it "will eventually become a usage-based paid feature."
- Separate client access wherever you can. A single AI session with every client connected is a data-leak risk.
How we chose
We used the MCP Guide's standard listicle criteria:
- Live and public. The vendor must publish and document its own MCP server. We opened every page on 28 October 2026.
- Clear pricing. Prices come only from official pricing pages.
- Security basics. The docs must describe sign-in, scopes or read-only limits.
We also weighed how well each tool fits agency work across several clients. This list overlaps with our best MCP servers for marketing but focuses on multi-client use. The order is not a ranking. More lists are on the MCP Guide's best-of hub.

1. HighLevel: client CRMs, funnels and calendars

When you connect, you choose the sub-account or sub-accounts it can reach and approve scopes. Agencies can also "connect once and work across many sub-accounts."
Best for: Agencies that run clients' CRMs, pipelines and calendars in HighLevel.
Pricing: No separate MCP fee. HighLevel's pricing page lists Starter at $97 per month, Unlimited at $297 and Agency Pro at $497.
Pros:
- Built for the agency and sub-account model.
- Access is limited to the scopes you approve.
- Access can be reviewed or revoked from your LeadConnector account.
Cons:
- Agency-wide connections widen the blast radius of a mistake.
- Hundreds of operations make tool selection harder for the AI.

2. DataForSEO: pay-as-you-go SEO data
What it is. DataForSEO's MCP server lets AI agents "browse DataForSEO API documentation and make authenticated requests" to its SEO APIs. This is the new v3 server; the previous version is deprecated. It runs hosted or locally, and OAuth 2.0 is the default for HTTP.
Best for: Agencies that pull SERP, keyword and on-page data for many clients and want to pay per request.
Pricing: The server is free and open source (Apache 2.0). DataForSEO's pricing page lists pay-as-you-go API pricing with "No subscriptions," a "$50 minimum top-up" and a balance that "never expires." SERP data starts from $0.0006 per SERP.
Pros:
- No monthly subscription.
- Open source, so your developer can inspect it.
- Covers SERP, keywords, on-page and AI optimization data.
Cons:
- Costs scale with requests, so set budgets per client.
- Raw API data needs more interpretation than a polished SEO tool.

3. Ahrefs: backlinks, keywords and audits
What it is. Ahrefs "provides a hosted MCP server that allows users with a Lite plan or higher to connect their Ahrefs account to supported AI tools." Ahrefs says each plan has "a maximum number of rows per request that an AI agent can access."
Best for: SEO agencies that already use Ahrefs for client audits and link research.
Pricing: Ahrefs' pricing page lists Lite at $129, Standard at $249, Advanced at $449 and Enterprise at $1,499 per month. The plans list "API and MCP access."
Pros:
- Hosted, with nothing to install.
- Covers backlinks, keywords, rankings and site audits.
- Works with many AI apps, including n8n and Le Chat.
Cons:
- Row limits per request can cut off large exports.
- Extra users cost more, which adds up across an agency team.

4. Semrush: SEO, traffic and project data
What it is. Semrush MCP provides data from the SEO API, the Trends API (depending on subscription) and "All read-only methods from Projects API." Semrush says you can read project data "but not create new projects."
Best for: Agencies that report client SEO and competitor traffic from Semrush.
Pricing: Semrush says SEO data access needs one of these plans: Semrush One Starter, Semrush One Pro+, SEO Classic Pro or SEO Classic Guru. Those plans include 50,000 API units, which refresh on renewal. Plan prices are on Semrush's pricing pages.
Pros:
- Project data is read-only.
- OAuth 2.1 sign-in, per our profile.
- Trends API adds market and traffic data.
Cons:
- API units run out with heavy use.
- Plan eligibility rules are detailed, so check yours first.

5. Google Analytics: read-only GA4 reporting
What it is. Google's Google Analytics MCP server is "currently for read-only requests and cannot modify your Google Analytics settings." It authenticates with Application Default Credentials and the read-only Analytics OAuth scope. Google publishes the code on GitHub.
Best for: Agencies that write monthly GA4 reports for many client properties.
Pricing: Free and open source. Google Analytics API quotas apply, per our profile.
Pros:
- Read-only by design.
- Official Google code.
- Reaches any property your Google account can see.
Cons:
- Runs locally, so someone has to set up Python and credentials.

6. Microsoft Clarity: session recordings and UX insights
What it is. The Microsoft Clarity MCP server "allows you to access your session recordings, project analytics, and documentation from Clarity" in plain language. Microsoft publishes it as an npm package.
Best for: Agencies doing conversion and UX work for client sites.
Pricing: Free and open source (MIT, per our profile). You need a Clarity project and a data export token.
Pros:
- Read-only data access.
- Turns heatmap and session questions into plain answers.
- Includes documentation search.
Cons:
- Uses a per-project data export token, so each client needs its own.
- Data export API limits apply, per our profile.

7. Meta ads MCP server: Facebook and Instagram ads
What it is. Meta describes its ads MCP server as "a Meta-hosted Model Context Protocol server" at https://mcp.facebook.com/ads. It can "Create and edit ads, ad sets, and campaigns," and covers reporting, catalogs, signals, A/B tests and activity logs.
Best for: Paid social teams managing client ad accounts.
Pricing: Meta's docs list no MCP fee. Normal ad spend applies.
Pros:
- Hosted by Meta.
- Activity logs help you see what changed.
- Reporting and A/B test tools speed up client reviews.
Cons:
- It can launch and edit live campaigns that spend client money.
- Meta's overview page doesn't explain multi-account handling, so check access per client.
Checked against: Meta for Developers on 28 October 2026. Full profile: Meta Ads MCP server.
8. Hootsuite: four servers for social work
What it is. Hootsuite's MCP servers link its products to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Copilot: Perch for content creation and publishing, Nest for the social inbox, Lumen for insights and listening, and Parliament for employee advocacy. Hootsuite's example is "Draft a post about our product launch for every channel."
Best for: Agencies that manage clients' social calendars and inboxes in Hootsuite.
Pricing: No separate MCP fee. Hootsuite's plans page says paid plans "start at $99 for a Standard plan, $199 for a Professional plan, and range up to $399 for an Advanced plan."
Pros:
- Separate servers let you connect only what each person needs.
- Listening insights help with client reporting.
- Works with the main AI apps.
Cons:
- Scheduling and inbox replies are public-facing actions.
- Agencies with many client workspaces need careful access planning.
Checked against: Hootsuite's MCP page on 28 October 2026. Full profile: Hootsuite MCP server.
9. Webflow: building and updating client sites
What it is. The Webflow MCP server lets AI build and manage sites: design elements, CMS collections, pages, SEO settings, assets and interactions. Some features need more: site branches require an Enterprise plan, and Campaigns "works only on sites in the Early Access program."
Best for: Web agencies that build and maintain client sites on Webflow.
Pricing: No separate MCP fee. Webflow's pricing page lists site plans from $15 per month (Basic) and $25 per month (CMS), billed yearly.
Pros:
- Hosted by Webflow with OAuth and per-site authorization.
- Covers CMS and SEO settings, useful for content updates.
- Branches on Enterprise let you test changes in isolation.

Running MCP across many clients
Agencies face a problem most businesses don't: one person may have access to dozens of client accounts. MCP makes that access faster to use, which also makes mistakes faster.
- One client per session. Avoid connecting every client's analytics, ads and CRM in the same chat. See cross-server data leakage.
- Read-only for reporting. Google Analytics, Clarity and Semrush projects are read-only. Use them for monthly reports.
- Approvals for anything public. Ads, social posts and site edits are visible to the client's customers.
- Budgets per client. DataForSEO, Ahrefs and Semrush meter usage. Track which client each request was for.
- Write it into contracts. Tell clients which AI tools touch their data. Our MCP AI acceptable use policy is a starting point.
| Agency work | Start with |
|---|---|
| Monthly SEO reports | Semrush or Ahrefs, plus Google Analytics |
| Keyword research at volume | DataForSEO |
| UX and conversion reviews | Microsoft Clarity |
| Paid social management | Meta ads server |
| Client CRMs and funnels | HighLevel |
| Site builds | Webflow or the WordPress MCP Adapter, plus Figma |

Frequently asked questions
Which MCP server is most useful for an SEO agency?
Most SEO agencies start with the data tool they already pay for: Ahrefs or Semrush. Add Google Analytics for traffic and DataForSEO when you need raw SERP data at volume.
Can one MCP connection cover all my clients?
Some can. HighLevel supports agency-wide connections across sub-accounts, and Google's analytics server reaches every property your login can see. That is convenient but risky, so many agencies keep one client per session.
Do agency MCP tools cost extra?
Most vendors list no separate MCP fee, but usage counts. Ahrefs limits rows per request by plan, Semrush uses API units, DataForSEO charges per request and Figma plans to charge for canvas writes after beta.
Can the AI publish to a client's website or ad account?
Yes, with Webflow, Meta and Hootsuite, among others. Keep approvals on, use staging or branches where possible, and have a person review anything public.
Should agencies tell clients they use MCP?
Yes. Clients should know which AI tools can access their data and what those tools can change. Put it in your contract or data processing terms.
