This list is part of our best-of MCP lists, within The MCP Guide. Entries are checked against each vendor's own pages; inclusion is editorial and not paid.
0 entries
The best MCP servers for finance teams in 2026 come from the systems finance already runs: NetSuite for the ERP, Pigment for planning, Ramp and Expensify for spend, BILL for payables, Mercury and Airwallex for banking and treasury, and Avalara for sales tax. LedgerMCP (built by eSEOspace) covers small-business books and month-end checks. The right pick depends on where your numbers live today.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard that lets an AI app such as Claude or ChatGPT read and act on outside software. For a finance team, that means asking "Which bills over $5,000 are due this week?" or "Show card spend by department for October" in plain English, with the answer pulled from the live system.
We checked every entry against the vendor's own docs on 2 November 2026. eSEOspace did not test these products. This list is about finance operations: planning, spend, payables, banking, treasury and tax. For general ledgers such as QuickBooks Online, Xero and Zoho Books, see our list of the best MCP accounting tools.
Disclosure: eSEOspace built LedgerMCP. It is included because it fits the month-end close use case. The order is not a ranking.
Key Takeaways
- Most finance vendors now host their own MCP server, and none on this list charges a separate MCP fee that we could find.
- Money movement is the line every vendor draws. Mercury turns payments into requests that need approval in Mercury, and Airwallex says AgentOS does not initiate transfers, FX conversions or payouts.
- Several servers are read-only by design or by default: BILL and Expensify are read-only today, and Ramp lets each user pick Read-only at sign-in.
- Enterprise systems lock out admin roles. NetSuite's AI Connector Service does not support Administrator roles, and Pigment blocks data unless "AI data access" is on.
- Many of these servers are in beta, including BILL and Mercury. Expect tool names and behavior to change.
How we chose
We used the MCP Guide's standard listicle criteria:
- Live and public. The vendor must publish and document its own MCP server. We opened each page on 2 November 2026.
- Clear pricing. The vendor must publish pricing or say how to get it. Prices come only from official pricing pages.
- Security basics. The docs must describe sign-in, permissions, scopes or approvals.
We looked for finance tools beyond the general ledger. We left out Brex, because we found only community-built Brex servers. We also left out Datarails: a PyPI package authored by "Datarails" exists, but its linked GitHub repository was not public and we found no Datarails setup page to check. 1. Oracle NetSuite: ERP data with role limits built in
What it is. Oracle's NetSuite AI Connector Service lets an outside AI client work with your NetSuite data. Oracle says NetSuite "has adopted the Model Context Protocol (MCP)." It ships the MCP Standard Tools SuiteApp, and you can build custom tools, which can also support MCP Apps.
Best for: Controllers and finance ops teams at companies that run NetSuite as their ERP.
Pricing: Oracle's FAQ says, "The NetSuite AI Connector Service is not a paid feature and the MCP Standard Tools is a free SuiteApp. However, you may need a paid subscription for your AI client." You still need a NetSuite subscription.
Pros:
- The service "does not support Administrator roles," so the AI works through a limited role.
- Custom tools let you expose only the saved searches and reports you choose.
- Oracle names Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and Claude Code, and says any MCP client can connect.
Cons:
- Oracle notes some ChatGPT plans need Developer Mode for MCP connectors.
- Setup needs a NetSuite admin to create roles and permissions.

2. Pigment: planning models your AI can query
What it is. Pigment is a business planning platform. Its MCP server page says it "connects Pigment's live business data, models, logic and agents to external AI platforms through the MCP standard." Pigment's knowledge base says the server "is available when you activate Pigment AI" and names ChatGPT, Claude and Mistral as clients.
Best for: FP&A teams that want to ask about forecasts, budgets and scenarios from a chat window.
Pricing: Pricing on request. The MCP page offers a free trial and a demo, and lists no prices.
Pros:
- Users sign in with their own Pigment account, and existing access rights apply.
- A "Use AI Agents" permission controls MCP use per Application.
- Admins can block any Block from MCP by turning off its "AI data access" setting.
Cons:
- Only metrics with Number, Integer or Boolean data types can be read via MCP.
- Each Workspace, Test and Deploy environment needs its own endpoint and connector.
Checked against: Pigment MCP Server knowledge base on 2 November 2026.
3. Ramp: spend, approvals and card controls
What it is. Ramp MCP lets AI apps "query Ramp data and take actions in natural language." Read tools cover transactions, spend exports, vendors, accounting categories, departments, entities, treasury balances and the org chart. Write tools can approve or reject transactions, bills, reimbursements and purchase orders, edit transaction coding, and lock or unlock cards.
Best for: Finance teams that run corporate cards, reimbursements and approvals in Ramp.
Pricing: No separate MCP fee. Ramp's pricing page lists Free at $0 per user per month, Plus at $15 per user per month plus a platform fee based on team size, and custom Enterprise pricing.
Pros:
- The consent screen offers Full access or Read-only; read-only hides every tool that makes changes.
- Admins can limit access by role, department or user.
- A sandbox URL with sample data lets you pilot without real company data.
Cons:
- Full access is the default at sign-in, so train users to pick Read-only for a pilot.
- Custom clients and gateways need their redirect URI allowlisted by Ramp first.
Checked against: Ramp MCP docs on 2 November 2026. Full profile: Ramp MCP server.
4. BILL: payables and receivables visibility
What it is. The BILL MCP Server is in beta. It lets you search bills by vendor, due date, amount and approval or payment status, review outgoing payments, search invoices by customer and status, and analyze Spend and Expense card transactions.

- "Every call runs as you, against the BILL role you already have."
- No admin role is required for general access.
Cons:
- Only US-based organizations are supported; partner, international and Accountant Console sessions are not.
- One organization per connection, and Claude CLI setup isn't supported.

5. Expensify: read-only expense analysis

What it is. LedgerMCP is double-entry bookkeeping that an AI app runs over MCP. Its docs list 74 tools: 26 read-only, 48 writes, and 4 destructive. Close-related tools include reconcile_account ("Tie one bank account out to a statement"), verify_books (a "Books health audit") and set_lock_date ("Lock the books through a date after closing a period").
Best for: Small businesses, founders and bookkeepers who want an AI to keep the books and prepare month-end checks.

How to roll out finance MCP servers safely
Finance data is sensitive, and some of these tools can move money or post entries. Start small.
- Start read-only. BILL and Expensify are read-only today. Pick Read-only on Ramp's consent screen, and give NetSuite a limited custom role.
- Keep money movement in the bank's app. Mercury and Airwallex already route payments to human approval. Keep it that way.
- Map tools to people. Use our MCP tool permission planner to decide who gets which tools.
- Close with a human sign-off. An AI can prepare reconciliations and variance notes. A person should approve the close and any lock date. Our month-end close playbook walks through the steps.
| If you... | Consider |

Frequently asked questions
Can an AI send payments through these servers?
Mostly no. Mercury's payment tools create requests that need approval in Mercury, Airwallex says AgentOS does not initiate money-out actions, and BILL and Expensify are read-only. Ramp can approve or reject items with Full access, so choose Read-only unless you need approvals.
Do these MCP servers cost extra?
None of the vendors on this list shows a separate MCP fee on the pages we opened. You still pay for the product itself, and some features need a specific plan, such as Pigment AI for Pigment's server.
Which server suits FP&A work?
Pigment is the only dedicated planning platform on this list with a documented MCP server we could verify. NetSuite helps with actuals through saved searches and reports. Ramp and BILL add spend and payables detail.
How is this different from the accounting tools list?
Our accounting tools list covers general ledgers such as QuickBooks Online, Xero and Zoho Books. This list covers the systems around the ledger: ERP, planning, spend, payables, banking, treasury and tax.
Are beta servers safe to use?
They can be, with care. BILL and Mercury both label their servers beta, and BILL says tool names and responses may change. Pilot with read-only access and check answers against the source system before you rely on them.
