Top Magento Developers in 2026-2027

By: Irina Shvaya | August 10, 2026

Disclosure: eSEOspace publishes this blog and ranks itself first. Every other entry was researched independently and links to its own site.

Magento in 2026 is not one thing. It is at least four.

There is Adobe Commerce, the licensed enterprise product, sold with Adobe's wider marketing stack attached. There is Magento Open Source, still running a very large number of stores that nobody wants to replatform. There is the Hyvä frontend layer, which has quietly become the default answer to "the storefront is slow" for merchants who are staying on the platform. And there is the migration conversation: Magento 1 leftovers, Magento to Shopify Plus, Magento to headless.

An agency that is excellent at one of those is frequently mediocre at another. The enterprise integrator who can wire Adobe Commerce into your ERP and rebuild your B2B pricing tiers is not necessarily the team you want for a Hyvä theme rebuild on a 400 SKU catalog. The frontend performance specialist is not the team to run a multi-region rollout with PIM and DAM in scope.

So read this list against your actual job. Every entry below says what the agency is genuinely strong at and, more usefully, when it is the wrong hire.

One note on sourcing before we start. Every fact here comes from the agency's own published pages, checked page by page. Where a founding year, a headquarters designation or a headcount was not stated publicly, we left it out rather than guessing. Several of these firms publish large self-reported numbers: project counts, certification totals, revenue generated for clients. We report those as claims, because that is what they are. Where two pages on the same site disagree, we say so instead of picking the flattering number. You will notice gaps in the profiles. The gaps are deliberate and honest.

Key Takeaways

  • Decide first whether your problem is the storefront, the back office, or the platform itself. That one decision removes most of this list before you contact anybody.
  • Certification counts and Adobe partner tiers are the most checkable public signal in the Magento world, which is why nearly every serious agency leads with them.
  • Hyvä has become a genuine dividing line. Agencies with Hyvä partner status and a Hyvä-first practice are solving a different problem than the classic Luma-and-PWA shops.
  • B2B commerce on Adobe Commerce is its own discipline. ERP integration, contract pricing, customer hierarchies and approval workflows are where these projects actually get hard.
  • Founding years, headquarters designations and headcounts are published unevenly. Four of the seven researched agencies name a founding year. The rest use "15+ years" or "20+ years" phrasing instead, and several publish headcounts that disagree between pages of their own site.
  • Named case studies are worth more than logo walls. A logo can mean a subcontract, a pitch, or a project from nine years ago.
  • A rebuilt store does not earn traffic on its own. Budget search visibility and conversion work alongside the build, or you will ship a faster site that sells the same amount.

How we evaluated these Magento developers

We scored on things we could verify from public sources, and we named the things we could not.

Demonstrable Magento or Adobe Commerce practice. A dedicated service line, published case studies, or Adobe partner status. A mention of Magento on a services page did not qualify.

Credentials over self-description. Adobe Solution Partner status, Hyvä partner tier and certification counts carry more weight than adjectives. Where an agency states a tier, we say so. Where it states partner status without a tier, we say that too, because the difference matters. Where a claim is a superlative about the agency's own standing, we attribute it to the agency rather than repeating it as fact.

Named clients. Published client names are the strongest available public evidence that work shipped, and a client with a dedicated case study page is stronger evidence than a logo in a scrolling strip. We report the names agencies publish, we distinguish the two, and we do not speculate about how deep those engagements went.

Scope clarity. Does the agency do full replatforms, integration work, frontend rebuilds, or all three? Clarity here is a positive. Mismatched scope kills more Magento projects than bad code does.

Geographic and delivery fit. Timezone overlap, onshore versus nearshore teams, and whether the agency actually staffs the region you operate in.

Internal consistency. Where a site contradicts itself on headcount or project counts, that is worth knowing before you read any of its other numbers as precise.

We did not score on revenue, third-party review ratings or headcount, because those were either unpublished or unverifiable across the group.

1. eSEOspace

Base: San Diego, California. Founded: 2019.

eSEOspace is an ecommerce and digital marketing agency that builds stores and then takes responsibility for whether they earn anything. That framing is the reason we rank ourselves first, and it is also the reason we are not the right call for every project on this page.

Most agencies in this category are engineering shops. They build the store, hand over the keys, and the merchant then hires somebody else to solve traffic and conversion. That handoff is where a lot of Magento budgets quietly disappear. A replatform that ships on time and loses organic visibility because redirects, templates and internal linking were treated as somebody else's problem is a failure with a green project status.

Our work spans ecommerce design and development, ecommerce SEO, conversion rate optimization for ecommerce, and insights and analytics so the reporting after launch is actually usable. Practically, that means the people planning URL structure and category architecture are in the same conversation as the people writing the templates.

We are candid about scale. We are a lean team, and we work best with small and mid-market merchants where one group can hold the whole picture: catalog structure, storefront performance, search visibility, and the checkout funnel. We are also comfortable telling a merchant that Magento is the wrong platform for their volume and complexity, which happens more often than the Magento agency world likes to admit.

We are not publishing a certification count, a project total or a client roster here, for the same reason we discount them elsewhere on this page: numbers an agency reports about itself are not evidence, and we are holding our own entry to the standard we applied to everyone else's.

Best for: Small and mid-market ecommerce operations that want the build, the search work and the conversion work to answer to one team rather than three.

Worst fit: Enterprise Adobe Commerce programs with ERP replatforming, multi-region rollouts or a licensed Adobe stack in scope. Hire one of the integrators below for that. If you want a straight answer about which of these categories you are in, book a call.

2. Scandiweb

Base: Bertas Pīpiņas iela 4, Riga, Latvia, labelled as headquarters on the contacts page, with further offices listed in London, New York, Montreal, Stockholm and Dubai. Founded: 2003.

Scandiweb is a full-service ecommerce agency that pairs development with digital marketing for enterprise brands, and it leans harder on certification volume as a proof point than anyone else in this list. The site states 894 or more certifications, lists Adobe Commerce Gold Partner and Hyvä Platinum Partner status, and describes itself as "the #1 most-certified agency on both." It also states more than 2,100 ecommerce projects launched, more than 700 brands served, and more than 4 billion dollars generated annually for clients.

Named clients on the company homepage include Puma, The New York Times, Adobe, Samsung, Acer, the University of Michigan and Boy Scouts of America.

The genuinely useful thing about Scandiweb is the combination. Adobe Commerce build, Hyvä frontend work and ongoing growth marketing sit under one roof, which removes the usual argument about whether a conversion problem is a code problem or a marketing problem.

On sourcing: the about page states that the company began in Riga in 2003 and puts the current team at more than 600 ecommerce and digital marketing specialists. The certification, project and revenue figures are the company's own published marketing claims, and the "most-certified agency" line is a self-assessment, not an audited ranking. Read it as a positioning statement.

Best for: Enterprise and large mid-market merchants who want build, frontend and growth marketing from a single agency.

Worst fit: Merchants with a small, tightly scoped, price-sensitive project. This is an enterprise operation and it is priced and staffed like one.

3. Vaimo

Base: Founded in Sweden in 2008. The contact page labels Stockholm as headquarters and lists twenty offices in total, including Amsterdam, Ängelholm, Brussels, Copenhagen, Dubai, Genk, Gothenburg, Helsinki, Kuala Lumpur, Kyiv, London, Louisville KY, Oslo, Oulu, Paris, Pretoria, Tallinn, Valmiera and Wroclaw.

Vaimo is a full-service digital experience agency spanning commerce, content and data. Adobe Commerce is one of several platforms it implements, alongside PIM and DAM work, analytics and AI projects. Its Adobe Commerce page claims more than 15 years on the platform and more than 600 successful projects delivered. Its about page states more than 650 team members across 15 markets.

The numbers do not fully agree across the site. The homepage puts projects at 500 or more and markets at 16 or more, while the Adobe Commerce page says 600 or more projects. Take those as order-of-magnitude signals rather than precise counts. The certification figures on the Adobe Commerce page render as unpopulated placeholders, so we do not report a certification count for Vaimo at all.

Case studies on the Adobe Commerce page include Carhartt WIP, Byredo, Helly Hansen, Selver, Swiss Sense, Runnings, Lantmännen, Stöckli and Lippert. Björn Borg, Suunto, BAUHAUS and Würth Group appear on the homepage.

The office footprint is the real differentiator here. If you sell across Northern Europe, the Middle East and Africa and you need local delivery teams rather than one central pod covering everything, very few competitors match this map.

The Adobe Commerce page states no Gold, Silver or Platinum partner tier, which is a gap worth raising in a first call if you are buying a licensed Adobe Commerce deployment.

Best for: International and multi-market brands needing Adobe Commerce delivered alongside PIM, content and data work.

Worst fit: A single-market merchant with one catalog and no PIM ambitions. You will be paying for an operating model you do not need.

4. Atwix

Base: Chicago, Illinois (20 N Wacker Drive, Suite 1200) and Bratislava, Slovakia (Spitálska 53).

Atwix describes itself as a commerce integrator rather than a website shop, and the distinction is real. The emphasis is on unifying commerce platforms with ERP systems, pricing logic, inventory workflows and customer hierarchies for manufacturers, distributors and B2B brands.

The site states more than 200 expert certifications, displays Adobe Solutions Partner status alongside Shopware Platinum Partner and Shopify Partner status, and carries a "#1 Magento Contributor 2018-2025" badge. It cites No. 2327 on the 2025 Inc. 5000 list and a 2024 Inc. Power Partner award. Named case studies cover Reinders, Byrne Electrical and PowerPak. Wilson, Sony, Lifetime, Adobe and Burpee appear as client logos.

We treat those two groups differently on purpose. The named case studies are evidence. The logo wall may represent current work, historical work or something else, and the site does not say which.

If the hard part of your project is that six systems disagree about what a price is, this is the profile you want. The storefront is the easy half of that job.

Founding year is not published: the site says "15+ Years of Excellence" without a specific year. The Adobe partner tier is not stated either, only "Adobe Solutions Partner." Note the asymmetry, because it is informative. Atwix names a tier for Shopware and not for Adobe.

Best for: Complex B2B and distributor commerce on Adobe Commerce where ERP integration, custom pricing and workflow logic dominate the scope.

Worst fit: Brand-led direct-to-consumer work where the deliverable is a beautiful storefront and a fast checkout. That is not what this team is built around.

5. Magebit

Base: Riga, Latvia (2a Uriekstes) listed first, with further offices in London, New York, Kuwait City, Melbourne and Valencia. Founded: 2014.

Magebit is a full-service ecommerce agency founded in 2014 by two developers, and it says its specialty is complex, high-traffic stores. Its Magento service page describes the firm as "Specialized Adobe Ecommerce Partners" and "Specialized Hyva Platinum Partners," states more than 100 Adobe Commerce certificates including Master-level certificates, and states ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certification. It also markets a Hyvä-based theme called Venta, which the site says was developed in collaboration with Hyvä.

Volkswagen, Dunkin, Hydro Flask, UK Meds, Henry Schein, Aubuchon Hardware, The Body Shop and Automann appear in the portfolio and client section.

Hyvä Platinum plus a house Hyvä theme plus managed hosting is a coherent package. If your Magento store is slow and you have concluded that a Hyvä rebuild is the answer, this is a short list of one or two agencies and Magebit is on it.

The about page is internally inconsistent on headcount, showing "150 Superstars" in one place and "100+ employees across Europe" in another, so we do not state a team size. Riga is listed first among six offices but is not explicitly labelled as headquarters. We also cannot tell from the site whether every portfolio logo is a direct client relationship.

Best for: Merchants who want a Hyvä-first Adobe Commerce build or migration with hosting, maintenance and security from the same team.

Worst fit: Teams that have already decided against Hyvä, or who want a headless React storefront. You would be hiring this agency away from its strongest asset.

6. Elogic Commerce

Base: Headquarters in Tallinn, Estonia, with offices in New York, London, Stockholm, Dresden and Prague. Founded: 2009.

Elogic Commerce is an ecommerce systems integrator focused on Adobe Commerce alongside other commerce platforms. The site describes more than 200 ecommerce specialists and more than 200 certified engineers, more than 500 projects delivered, and 17 or more years in the market. It states Adobe Silver Solution Partner status.

The published case study library is the strongest part of the public record here. Armacell, Buff, Disney, HP, PetHQ, Marimekko, Sephora and Transcat each have their own case study page, rather than appearing only as a logo. That is a meaningfully higher standard of public evidence than most of this list clears.

Migration is the through-line. If you are moving onto Adobe Commerce from something else, or moving between Adobe Commerce versions and architectures, this is a nearshore European team organized around exactly that work, with a published headquarters and a published founding year, which is more transparency than several firms on this page offer.

Some brand names that appear in the homepage logo strip, including Siemens, Bulgari and Accenture, do not have a corresponding case study page, so we cannot say whether each is a direct client, a partner or a testimonial source. Exact current headcount beyond the 200-plus claim is not confirmable, and the site cites its own Clutch rating and review count, which is a third-party figure we did not score on.

Best for: Replatforming and migration onto Adobe Commerce for mid-market and enterprise B2B and B2C brands wanting nearshore European delivery.

Worst fit: Small incremental work on a stable store. An integrator organized around replatforming is expensive overhead for a backlog of small tickets.

7. Krish TechnoLabs

Base: Offices listed in Covina CA and New York City NY in the USA, plus Toronto in Canada, Dubai in the UAE, Greater London in the UK, Ahmedabad in India, Sydney in Australia, and Japan.

Krish TechnoLabs is an Adobe-centric digital agency organized around four pillars: AI and Data, Content, Commerce and MarTech, with Adobe Commerce as the anchor commerce platform. Its Adobe Commerce partner page describes the firm as "a preferred Adobe specialized gold solution partner" and states more than 100 certifications, more than 350 storefronts launched, a global team of more than 200, more than 20 years of experience overall and more than 14 years specifically on Adobe Commerce.

Nestle, Galeries Lafayette, Hamleys, Fiskars, DuPont, Damas, DAMAC, Grandiose, BioIQ, MyBinding, American Flags, Christy and Samara James are listed in the site's Work navigation, grouped by region.

The pitch here is stack coherence. If you are already running Adobe Experience Manager, Analytics, Target or Real-Time CDP, having one partner who works across all of it removes a category of integration argument that otherwise eats months. The regional grouping of that client list is also useful in a way most logo walls are not, because it tells you where the delivery experience actually sits.

Founding year is not stated on any page we opened. Eight locations across seven countries are listed with no headquarters designation, which makes it worth asking early which office would actually own your account.

Best for: Brands invested in the wider Adobe stack who want Adobe Commerce implemented and supported by the same partner, particularly across North America, the Middle East and APAC.

Worst fit: Merchants who use Magento Open Source and have no intention of buying anything else from Adobe. Much of the value proposition would be unused.

8. Space 48

Base: Headquartered in Manchester, United Kingdom, with a stated presence across Europe and a remote-distributed team.

Space 48 is a UK ecommerce agency that positions itself as a platform-agnostic advisor running dedicated engineering squads for Magento and Adobe Commerce, BigCommerce and Shopify Plus. Its Magento page cites Trained Solutions Partner status, certified Magento developers, former Magento Masters on the team, and more than 10 years of Magento work, with a strong line in Magento 1 end-of-life migrations.

Published clients include Charlotte Tilbury, Richer Sounds, Bettys, Cox and Cox, Military 1st, Sarah Raven, MenKind, Ordnance Survey, Bensons for Beds, Sportshoes and Lifetime Brands. That is a recognizable UK retail roster, and several of those are the kind of mid-market British retailer that tells you more about fit than an enterprise logo does.

The unusual thing about Space 48 is that it will openly discuss moving you off Magento. In a category where most agencies' revenue depends on you staying, an agency that runs Shopify Plus and BigCommerce squads alongside its Magento squad can give you a less self-interested answer about whether to stay.

Founding year is not stated on the homepage or the Magento page. The current Adobe partner tier is not stated either, only "Trained Solutions Partners," which is worth clarifying directly if partner tier matters to your procurement. Headcount beyond a "100+ strong team" claim is unconfirmed.

Best for: UK and European retailers on Magento who need a migration or a candid platform-selection conversation, including the option of leaving Magento.

Worst fit: North American or APAC merchants who want same-timezone delivery and onshore account management.

Frequently asked questions

Is Magento still worth building on in 2026?

For the right merchant, yes. Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce still handle catalog complexity, B2B pricing structures and multi-store setups better than most competitors without heavy custom work. The cost is real though: hosting, security patching, extension conflicts and a developer market that is smaller and more expensive than the Shopify market. If your catalog is simple and your requirements are ordinary, you are probably paying a complexity tax for nothing. If you have a large SKU count, contract pricing per customer and several storefronts in multiple languages, Magento still earns its keep.

What does Hyvä actually change?

Hyvä replaces Magento's default frontend stack with a much lighter one, and the practical result is a faster storefront without committing to a full headless architecture. It sits between "live with the default theme" and "rebuild the front end as a separate React application." That middle path is why so many agencies now advertise Hyvä partner tiers. If storefront speed is your complaint and you do not want a two-year composable program, Hyvä is usually the first thing to price out.

How much should a Magento build cost?

Nobody on this page publishes rates or a minimum project size, and any number we gave you would be fiction. What we can tell you is what drives the number: catalog size and complexity, how many external systems have to talk to the store, whether you need B2B features like contract pricing and approval workflows, how many storefronts and languages you run, and whether the frontend is a theme or a rebuild. Integration work is the usual budget surprise. A storefront redesign is estimable. Making an ERP, a PIM and a commerce engine agree on inventory is not, until somebody looks at your actual systems. Ask each shortlisted agency for its minimum engagement directly, because that single answer will disqualify half your list faster than any proposal will.

Do I need an Adobe partner, or will any Magento developer do?

Partner status matters most if you are buying an Adobe Commerce license, because it affects support paths, roadmap access and how problems escalate. For Magento Open Source work, certifications and published case studies tell you more than a tier badge does. Read the tier language carefully either way. There is a real difference between "Adobe Commerce Gold Partner," "Adobe Solutions Partner" with no tier stated, "Adobe Silver Solution Partner" and "Trained Solutions Partner," and the agencies on this page state exactly one of those each. An agency that names a tier for one vendor and omits it for Adobe is telling you something quietly.

Why do so few of these agencies publish a founding year or team size?

We noticed the same thing while researching this piece, and it is worth saying out loud. Of the seven researched agencies, four publish a founding year and three do not, describing themselves instead as having "15+ years" or "20+ years" without naming the year. Headcounts are frequently inconsistent across pages of the same site, and at least one firm publishes two different team sizes on a single page. None of this is disqualifying, but it does mean any competing listicle that confidently lists founding year, headquarters and headcount for all eight entries is filling in blanks with guesses. We chose the gaps instead, and where we found a number we originally had wrong, we corrected it rather than keeping the tidier version.

What should I do about SEO during a Magento replatform?

Plan it before the build starts, not after launch. Category and URL architecture, redirect mapping, template-level metadata, structured data and internal linking all get decided during development whether or not anyone with search expertise is in the room. If nobody is, you will spend the months after launch recovering rankings you already had. That is the single most common way a technically successful Magento project produces a commercially disappointing result, and it is the reason we argue for ecommerce SEO work running in parallel with the build rather than after it.

Conclusion

There is no best Magento developer in the abstract. There is only the best fit for the specific thing that is hard about your store.

If the hard part is your ERP and your pricing logic, hire an integrator. If it is a slow storefront, hire a Hyvä specialist. If it is many markets and a product data mess, hire the agency with offices in those markets. If it is that you are not sure Magento is the right platform any more, hire the agency that sells three platforms rather than one, because they can afford to tell you the truth.

One last thing worth carrying into your shortlist calls. Almost every number on this page is a number an agency chose to publish about itself. Certification totals, project counts and revenue-generated figures are marketing assets, not audited disclosures. The parts of these profiles you can actually lean on are the ones with an external check behind them: a named partner tier, a case study page with a client's name on it, an office address you can look up. Weight those accordingly.

And if the hard part is that your store works fine but does not sell enough, that is not really a development problem. That is a traffic and conversion problem wearing a development problem's clothes, and the fix involves search visibility, analytics and funnel work more than it involves a rebuild.

We put ourselves at number one because that last category is where we do our best work and because we would rather say so plainly than pretend the ranking is neutral. For the enterprise programs, the ERP integrations and the multi-market rollouts, the seven agencies below us are the ones to call. If you are not sure which paragraph on this page describes you, get in touch and we will tell you honestly, including when the answer is somebody else.
